A Sword of the Heavens Did Glean

A sword of the heavens did glean

From railings and arbors
of dead thorn and bramble,
where ghostly reminders remain

Fall droplets of blood ‘pon
a crimson embroider
left carelessly out in the rain

Our story begins
in a deep mountain valley,
a village so peaceful and free

When one day the darkness
did unsheathe its horror
with metal and death you will see

The army of Satan,
a wicked battalion,
Hell’s fire their sabers were forged

Dark Skeletal visions
in leather and armor
the depths of the earth had been gorged

With razor sharp weapons,
they slashed and delivered
such pain which had never been found

Through echoes of pleading
and lives quickly ending
in puddles, thick red on the ground

While women and children
were herded like cattle
in mass to the edge of the square

With onyx eyes leering,
midst snickers and cackles,
their captors insanely did stare

When on the horizon
a light brightly shining,
engulfing this nightmarish scene

A porcelain stallion,
its rider a shadow,
a sword of the heavens did glean

From steel hard as granite,
angelic depictions,
a handle of pure solid gold

Once heard in a fable,
when wizards were roaming
such power, the stories foretold

As swift as an arrow
he entered the village,
his steed all at one with the game

With blade silver glistened,
like lightning bolts flashing,
igniting a righteous born flame

Spinning and thrusting
as if a tornado,
a blur now incensed of the glow

With whirlwind fury
and dust clouded thunder,
he dealt them a terrible blow

The evil fueled army,
beheaded and fallen,
the villagers shouted and cheered

When to their amazement,
this heroic savior
as quick as he’d come, disappeared

So there is the story,
a sword made in heaven
is now part of history’s reign

Along with the rider
who wielded its honor,
and hopes he will come back again

Bonds that can't be shattered with a hammer

True love, right or wrong; just as sinewy,

Match Made In Heaven

I stand naked by the mirror
Looking at myself
I look like ummm
Something off a dusty shelf

My ribs stick out
You could play them like a harp
And my eyes bulge out my head
Like a half squeezed Chihuahua pup

My legs they call them lucky
They like two fighting swords
I have the knack of amusing people
With them I even won awards

Now my wife is a total contrast
She’s short, fat and round
It takes me three hours to spread the fake tan
But she still comes out unevenly browned

Just the other day I thought
She threw the duvet over me
But when I opened one eye
I saw it was a crusty bikini

I love to watch her dressing
It makes me shake at the knees
I feel like grabbing a handful of ripples
And give them a gentle squeeze

Driving the car is a challenge
Her ripples stop me changing the gear
And when we walk down the street
We look like a shield with a skinny spear

But to her I’m her half finished pepperoni
To me she’s my fluffy bread bun
We always do things together
I’m telling you, we have so much fun

And now I would like to announce
The arrival of baby number seven
We may seem like the oddest couple
But it’s a match made in heaven.

Have I ever told you that, you are a gift from heaven? I was praying for a new friend, and you showed up.
Someone to laugh with, someone to have fun with.

Have I ever told you that, you are a great and wonderful friend. You are more than I asked for, you are an answer to a prayer.

Have I ever told you that, I am thankful for our friendship. I have been blessed with you, you are my angel in the flesh.

Premium Member Sister Whisperer

Do you have ice cream chocolates and a boat
Are you male female or do you identify as both
Is your sense of humor a surprise to die for
Are you easy on the eyes, a gift from the lord

Are you a great cook but never require her to
With just one look can you put her in the mood
Do you have lots of charm and a way with words
Can you cuddle with arms singing sweet as bird

Can you be available even during the big game
Finding her incredible telling her never change
And as she ages you view her as a masterpiece
Chanting her praises making true love so deep

You may have a big bank account maybe
But it’s your your generosity, you’re not lazy
That’s worth your soul in gold why she’s your lady
Thoughtful too she chooses you so elevating

All the things you bring she gives back to you
Like a perfect dream she sticks by side as glue
One kiss has sealed this promise of love for two
Every prayer answered by light of sun and moon

You’re happy to know match made in heaven real
Your characters both attract whisperer with feels

Premium Member How Great Is a Mother's Love

By Poet "A mother's love is made in heaven."

A special gift given from above
only one person can feel.
How great is a mother's love.

She always has ready a delicious meal
working many long hours
only one person can feel.

Her garden is filled with flowers
wiping away the tears
working many long hours

she has no fears
as she kneels to pray
wiping away the tears

joy is watching the children at play
before the coming rain
as she kneels to pray

she will wrap her arms around you like a chain
A special gift given from above
before the coming rain
how great is a mother's love.

Saint Govan’s Chapel

They stood with their raincoats and rubber boots at the top of the cliff

Clothed in anger and fear they braced the elements and honoured the Saint

A hermit had lived in a fissure hewn into rocks by the tides and corrosion

The Chapel had been a later addition to weather storms for silent prayer

Souls stuck on survive they had arrived at the abyss to halt their demise

Hearts on surrender they threw caution to the wind for one final shout

‘Maybe the dolphins will offer a ride or the seagulls will take us higher’

Into clouds of salvation where their minds had failed to deliver release

He picked wild flowers and arranged a crown on her sunken head

Yellow Poppies for Peace and Wild Garlic to fend off their demons

Caressed the breeze in her hair embraced her Puffin tattoo and

Sank into her bell feathered arms seduced by kindness and hope

Raindrops fell like pearlescent seashells from a rainbow while rosaries’

Ocean spray tickled their weather worn skins and covered their sadness

Wind brushed away urchins of cobwebs and urged them to proceed

Sun rays reflected the moon as they enlightened their shadows’ horizon

Stripped to the core and essence they unlaced gloom and their burdens

Stepped forward in time and let nature answer echoes of happiness

Before they knew it stark naked bodies mingled under moons’ canopy

As they spooned their fortunes together and went deep inside joy

They felt younger by the minute and recalled the ancient wisdom that

A healthy body resides in a sound mind and rekindled passion and life

Soon they would not hear the sound of waves but felt the earth move

To rhymes rhythm and metre holier than holy and discarded insanity

Tongues licked the salt of the earth kissed cradled abandoned restraint

And tied a union made in heaven transported into ravines of rapture

The gods blushed a bit but looked kindly onto the feast of delight

No one demanded that life must be prudish when beauty unveils

Premium Member The Strange Marriage of Love and Pain

Love and Pain
Decided to get married
I know it seems strange
For you would have expected
Love and affection to want to tie the knot
After all…they were similar
They socialized in the same set of word families
The artistonyms
Love and passion also wanted
To be forever joined
That everyone condoned and blessed

But, oh, how everyone laughed
At the strange request
Of Love and Pain
To be wed
“What’s wrong with your head?
You two are from different worlds
From antonym slums
You can’t unite
And become one!”

Love held on to Pain
And would not let her go….
He smiled a knowing smile
“There has never been
One of us without the other
We belong…
For only when you truly encounter Love
Will you experience Pain.”

Pain shed a tear
And yet she smiled
“Where Love exists
I hover near…
Have no fear
Our union will produce
Beautiful babies
Love sires Joy
A darling child
Love fathers Peace
And Tranquility, in turn
These are the children we will bear
But do beware
Love can’t survive, without Me
For how would He know
How would He be certain
That he is alive….and well
Were it not for ME!

And so Love and Pain
Were wed
Amongst great fanfare
It was a match made in heaven
For never did they depart
One from another

Love and Pain?
Not so insane
Everyone did testify
That one did not come
Without the other
They were tied together
Inseparable
Nothing could come between them
Except their little babies
The most beautiful mixed babies
That eye shall ever see!
Sweet harmony
Of Love and Pain
Who lived.......companionably ever after!

Premium Member fulcrum of a rose

the pivot shifted when emptiness gave way
to acceptance that the heart is a treasure chest
of fragrance that comes with perfumed aroma
sweet smelling crises at turning point for love

their union had commenced like pink cotton candy
paradise made in heaven and soft silken sheets
pheromones of adventure passion and longing
inhaled from petals of sentience and youthful desire

as time passed and droughts threated the marriage
resentments fear insecurities and anger resurfaced
and they came to regret not having planted alongside
lavender sage and marigolds to salve and to savour

thwarted by such negligence and self-righteousness
pink blossoms dried up as thorns pierced their hearts
and when they sought refuge in arguments and booze
poison intoxicated what had once been a blessing

cut down to pitiful size at loneliness’ fulcrum
tears alone would not rescue the rose from demise
the rest of such floral narration is written with blood
of salvation and the miraculous gift of honest recovery

The Memory of You

The Memory Of You. ©2020 dBwordresearch

I will always have your memory that no one can take away. I've
kept things the way they were, which helps on lonely days.

We adored and honored each other more than ourselves. Love, kindness, gentleness natural attributes weren't compelled.

My heart Is savoring all my thoughts of you even though
apart, gently I unwrap them often to feel a fire that glows.

The years you've been in heaven I think of you freely.
Like giving up an occasional beer knowing it pleased me.

God is the head of our family you were the head of the house.
I followed along knowing that I was loved and belonged.

Discord seldom came but solved before the sun went down.
Each other's needs came first, making it easy for love to abound.

I know your watching over me as I wait for you patiently. Our marriage was custom made in Heaven, just for you and me.
