From distance far she came;
From California she drove;
Notwithstanding the pain.
About halfway here, she stopped in
South Dakota, picking up a family of
special friends. Together they braved the
stormy weather; wind, rain, big rigs and
low visibility, driving till they nearly dropped.
It was to see us, they came.
with a love so deep and pure.
We felt so honored and respected.
Oh, what a reunion there was when
they arrived with so much love to give.
Like a fresh feel of heaven on earth.
What more can mortal ones ask?
Smiles and laughter, prayers and shares.
Fun and games, abundance of foods.
Coffee and water; no wine or other spirits;
But songs in hearts so filled with The Holy Spirit.
We spent some 60 plus blissful hours together.
They came to visit at the end of May;
But it felt like the month of September.
Not the climate, but my heart's emotions;
The feel of something that should not end.
Yes, they and their visit, were like September;
Like an Autumn breeze before a Winter freeze.
Yes, September is a threshold, a living bridge,
Ushering me from and through seasons of
Pleasantries into a Winter season of cold.
Time moves rapidly when you are having fun.
Saying "Hi" is always better than saying goodbye.
We took pictures, kissed and hugged tightly.
Watery eyes were spotted throughout our time
together; and special tears fell and flowed as
they s l o w l y, s l o w l y walked to the car.
Coming is always sweet; leaving, not so much.
What more can you say when there is no other
way? When emotions are stretched to the max
and you cannot stay? What more can you do?
I guess, as best you can, with a heart filled
with tears, 'You Just walk Away'.
Outrider early morn,
When training hours are borne,
They are the needed arm,
Sun, cold, wind, rain or storm,
Outrider in the sun,
Whose work is never done,
Where horses on the run,
Keep bettors having fun,
Outrider in the cold,
Ones with hearts so bold,
Their stories often told,
Of skillful ways they rode,
Outrider in the rain,
Sha'n't wait the weather wane,
Is there to help again,
When loose ones run insane,
Outrider in the wind,
An utmost needed friend,
May everywhere they wend,
Such godspeed be with them,
Outrider in the night,
No fear, no fame, less light,
Night racing at its height,
Make safe the riders plight,
Outrider by and by,
Whether wet or weather dry,
They heed the riders cry,
They're the best, we can't deny,
Many "Thanks" we horsemen reply.
Beloved Bella
I know you loved her very much
I know how much she loved you
I want to thank you
For being my sister Pat's
Faithful and Loving companion
*
It was a joy hearing Pat
Talk about your
Walks together
Pat with such delight
Watching you in the park
Exploring and sniffing
*
Pat would always have a bit of worry
On what lay in the grass
Or in a bush that
Caught your nose and eye
*
I laughed when she told me
How she gently pulled
And you turned regarding
Her with such dismay
As if to say
Hey I'm having fun here
Go away
*
Bella I have something to tell you
And it's really cool
When you see Mom in your mind,
She is missing and thinking of you
When Mom sees you in her mind
You are missing and thinking of her
*
Death can not break the sacred bond
between you and your Mom

Seventeenth of March is St Patrick’s Day
Great day for the Irish I can honestly say
Paddies' the world over will want to be seen
Wearing Leprechaun hats and a sprig of green.
Loud colourful parades up and down the lands
Drums, tin whistles and the skirl of pipe bands
Sample some Guinness or a glass of potcheen
Be the best street party you've ever seen.
But if you're not Irish still join in the fun
St Patrick’s day parades are for everyone
But make sure you go, you'll enjoy the craic
And I guarantee that next year you'll be back
It happens once a year so come and have a ball
A very happy St Patrick's day to one and all.
Written 16/02/2019.
Poitin anglicized as Potcheen
( Irish moonshine )
~
Sprig of green is the shamrock associated
With St Patrick who used it to explain the blessed trinity, God the father, son and holy spirit.

The craic is news, gossip, enjoyable conversation and having fun.
I am happy to be a retiree in Winter,
It couldn't have worked out better,
With no need to feel bitter,
When it starts to get colder.
I can go to bed before the heat goes out of the Sun
And not get up till the heat comes back again,
So I can feel as right as rain.
I can drive at times when road rage,
Is off the page,
And traffic flows at this stage,
So I can get home before I age.
I can stay on the phone and complete a transaction,
To my satisfaction,
And negate any company inaction.
My shopping is done when the fast lane is open,
Staff give me lots of attention,
And car parks not usually taken.
I can enjoy a cup of tea when not on the run,
While sitting in the sun,
And watching others not having fun.
I can plan my day,
With no boss having a say,
Or worrying about traffic delay.
I can have my breaks anytime,
And can even go overtime,
Without fear of a fine.
So why wouldn't I find winter,
A perfect partner,
For a short Encounter,
Before the temperature gets any colder.
Winter is the perfect time to feel guilt free,
In not rushing out of bed for a fee,
Until I feel like a cup tea,
With a newspaper or a book on my knee.
me and you on a poor man's cross country trip
we never run out of gas
we never eat all the snacks
we do not need any ice for the cooler
we don't even need to get any drinks
all we are doing is looking at houses in other parts of this "small", rural city
our mouths are still like "smuahhhhh!"
our faces still have looks of surprise
we might as well be on "house hunters" as many times as we say "OH WOWWWW!"
we know good and well we cannot afford half the houses that we see
however, we speak in feeble british accents and pretend like we can
"UM, YES, OLE CHAP, OUR BUDGET IS A HUNDRED BILLION POUNDS!"
"HOW ABOUT WE TALK ABOUT IT OLL OVER A SPOT OF TEA?"
yeah....in our dreams, but in reality, we are having fun and enjoying each other's company
it is like....we are on vacation....GO FIGURE!!!!!
I would write a little poem
if I weren't a little gnome
Little gnomes have gnarled fingers
where no pen can ably linger
All my writing's done, you see
by my faithful secret'ry
For she's twice as large as I
nearly one foot one inch high
With dexterity so fine
she has written every line
that I've dictated so well
and I love the fragrant smell
of her perfume that I bought
'Tis a brand she long has sought
Far too costly it would be
on her meager salary
She's well paid in other ways
and so that is why she stays
You see, gnomes aren't very strong
but in bed we last quite long
Long enough for two or three
like my lovely secret'ry
And unlike a human male
my libido never fails
For long after man is done
I am still out having fun
But just like a man, 'tis true
even I must answer to
the main woman in my life
whom I deign to call my wife
And I dread the day when she
finds my secret'ry and me
in a passionate embrace
for of me they'll find no trace
And my elfin employee
will be just as dead as me
For my wife is fierce, you see
thanks to Irish ancestry
And she really is quite strong
being born a leprechaun
She is larger than both I
and my secret'ry combined
Two foot six of Celtic rage
she belongs inside a cage
But until that fateful day
I'll continue in my way
For 'tis really all I know
now it's off to bed I go
To make his jack-o-lantern,
My husband wields a knife
And carves a slightly scary face
To make it come to life.
It isn’t sketched or plotted;
Just some time is all he needs
And before he’s even finished,
I have roasted all the seeds.
My son’s approach is different
For the face is deftly planned,
The features poked out gently
With some special tools at hand.
And his jack-o-lantern’s friendly
Since his kids are 3 and 1;
But both pumpkins were terrific,
With both carvers having fun.
Though my husband’s has a candle
And my son’s a phony flame,
Each will flicker Halloween-like
To the family’s great acclaim.

R- esting so beautiful among the flower beds
0- bject of man's devotions
S- ending your message of beauty to all
E- ndearing, among them you're the best
I- n a colorful display your bearded face
R- anting to the Sun, all day and night
I- ntroverted you bow to the ground but
S- till in your grace you kiss the Sun
M- iracle dressed up in yellow, oranges
A- dding to your presence more warmth
R- adiating such a beauty under the Sun
I- nviting within your petals light
G- oing around in circles,endless
O- bvious to my eyes, you're having fun
L- ayers of softness,so ilusive you are
D- ancing away under the magic of the Sun.

Authors notes:
From my flower poetry collection -
Hey all you poets its Christmas time again
Thoughts of writes oozing from your pens
Do you know what form you'll write
Leading up to Christmas night
I look forward to reading them, time and time again
Chorus:
So here it is Merry Christmas
All us poets having fun
Writing forms of poetry
As our thoughts flow and run
As we wait for Christmas eve to arrive
Kids at this time of year are so alive
As they look forward to Christmas morning
In their stocking, presents are adorning
Oh to see their faces on Christmas day
Chorus:
So here it is Merry Christmas
All us poets having fun
Writing forms of poetry
As our thoughts flow and run
What will your family do
When they see your poetry books on the shelves
Delivered to the bookshops, by Santa's little elves
Ah ah
Will you be writing any poems for Christmas day
Words in rhyme as you watch your children play
Looking forward to Christmas dinner
Not many of us will be any thinner
Merry Christmas to you is all i say
Chorus:
So here it is Merry Christmas
All us poets having fun
Writing forms of poetry
As our thoughts flow and run
