The Golden Chandeliers Glow

The room was alive with colour, dancing rainbows swirling under the glowing golden chandelier.
Laughter filled the air, no one noticed the young girl tending to a single tear.

The warmth of the room was not felt upon her pale skin, she felt only the harsh frost of her fathers love.
The white ivory keys from the piano played, with each striking note she once again felt her fathers riding glove.

Whilst lost in her thoughts, soul searching upon an empty river bed that dried up seasons ago.
Her fiancé walks over to her and reaches out his hand, an offer to dance was all he could do to ease this young girls woe.

He was not a bad man as his bank glowed with gold, his heart was warm and kind much like that of her late mother.
Alas for these kind qualities could not change the fact, her heart had fallen for another.

They twirled and danced, clapped and smiled her ears were filled with music and laughter.
But beneath it all was pain and confusion, her mind was filled with the spiteful words of her father.

Earlier that day he had tried to beat sense into her, she was to marry a decent man and that was final.
With a loving blow only a father could give, he believed that her desires of sharing a bed with another woman was alterable.

They both knew that his attempts were in vain, she had been like this for years and nothing would change.
Her father had always despised her, the daughter he believed to be strange.

No one would know that tonight's dance would be her last, that her life would be cut short upon the morrow.
Her death much like her mother, suicide or murder one would never know.

But until that moment comes her father stands silent and alone, holding a crimson glass of his favourite Bordeaux.
In the corner of the ballroom he watches her with a stern look, his face cast in shadow by the golden chandeliers glow.

Dear Blabby
There is a matter I must get off my chest. I am due to marry in the fall, but now have cold feet. My fiancé is a lot brainier than I am. Intellectually, she’s head and shoulders above me. I have to hand it to her. But lately she’s been a pain in the neck. She jumps down my throat whenever we don’t see eye to eye. She makes me the butt of her jokes, venting her spleen. She even gives me a tongue lashing whenever we have disagreements.
Blabby, I don’t have the guts or the heart to level with her face to face. You see, I don’t intend on marrying her, but haven’t the stomach to deal with my dilemma. We’ve spent an arm and a leg for the wedding. Just a short while ago we were head over heels in love. But recently we’ve just been thumbing our noses at each other. When I tell her I love her just to keep the peace, she elbows me in the ribs before giving me the finger.
Blabby, here’s the bottom line. I am a very handsome young man. Women find me irresistible. My skin is flawless and bronzed. My eyes shine like Burmese sapphires. My hair is golden and wavy. And as for my torso, arms, and legs? I am a Greek god. My fiancé is kind, brilliant, and giving, but she’s no raving beauty. The mirror tells no lies. I deserve a gorgeous wife. Being modest and shy by nature, I ask your advice on how to break the news to her.

Premium Member Union of Souls

Sighs of melting breaths
Soothe my inner qualms
Reminding me that I’m loved
By someone who holds the key
To my heart and my dreams

Sparkling stardust insights
Whisper through my spirit
Revealing the purity and peace
That comes from giving my hopes
To someone who knows who I am

Gentle clasps of a pleasing embrace
Tug at my feelings of tenderness
Thrusting me toward the kindness
Of one who gives without conditions
And lives in a way that enchants me

Sweet temptation tugs at my secret desire
Beckoning me to believe in the joy
That comes from sharing such yearning
For the joining of souls, two into one
With this ruby band comes a promise of more

With this ring, I do wed my eternal inspiration
For knowing good things that will forever enchant
Initiating life within my deepest beliefs and ideas
Warming my essence with a soft, nourishing caress
Leading me through the worries that might spoil

*Author’s Note: I am getting married on July 23, 2020 on my fiancé birthday. Since his birthstone is a ruby I decided to purchase a ruby wedding ring. While researching the ring, I discovered that a ruby wedding ring symbolizes a “Union of Souls” and I was definitely SOLD!!!

Love Exam

Who's voice meatus
with a sweet tenors
tone
which words are sung
so lovely
so smooth and sweet
Nonet Musette?
Atonal Baroque?
Vivace Trill Trombone?
uh, you don't know
Rubato Tutti?
Meatus Tablature ?
sweet, sweet tone
do you have interest
in the clefts notes, huh?
does the whiskey from de Tablature
calm you want mi?
Sensual sounds of a Clap Happy crowd,
yes which sung is sung
that which is played is danced to
yet this is the Minuet Mezzo,
who's mask is perfection
and who's face shall be revealed
this very Minuet Mezzo!
Must the Bass Note keeper
make the Cleft Note Keeper
smile, for one then to hear
them together?

Article Seven B', from the Works of Hussy, copyrighted 1856, She Chopped the forest down to create the perfect Bassoon, she found fun in a Dogwood tree. She became angered when An artist used one of her Bassoons to serenade his new lover. When a fella in the crowd took her away from where the tomato's were she was heard saying, " he so stupid, darling: he so stupid!"
She tossed tomatoes at him when he Played " Must be Love" to his fiancé.

Premium Member In the Presence of God

“I am Gabriel, in the presence of God, I stand.”
The importance, of the angel’s words,
like lightning strikes - holy, grand.
Far better joy than the song of birds.
Silences faithless tongues, stuns nerves.
The predictions come to pass. God does not lie.
Brilliance of wingspan; respect deserves.
Christ’s come to us, The Dayspring on High.

God’s angel was gentle with Mary, not offhand.
Oh, to hear the treasure of choice words.
Still, she’d have to tell her fiancé, to stand
before him with her claim; to cross words.
To ponder, hold joy, in wonder, her world’s
turned upside-down. In praise, she’d magnify
the Lord. God chose a young virgin who serves.
Christ’s come to us, The Dayspring on High.

Zechariah, in silence, saw God’s right hand.
He questioned, even though an angel burns
before him. Sans understanding of what God planned.
A babe in his old age? A gift disturbs?
God means what He says. Listen to His words.
God is not a man, that He should lie!
Every scripture, in His timing, He confirms.
Christ’s come to us, The Dayspring on High.

Admire the breaking of sunrise light.
The canvas of the sky, a morning sigh.
Dumbfounded speak, the blind have sight.
Christ’s come to us, The Dayspring on High.

Premium Member Rice Ain'T Nice and the Nfl Smells

Don't know 'bout you, but I'm in a stew
that Rice ain't nice and the NFL smells.
Seems a shame, just 2 games
suspension for sending fiancé to unconscious dimension
but 5 games in the pink for some "illegal" ink
and a season on the rope for smokin a little dope.
Too bad, violence gainst women so sad
but these are men in a violent pen
NFL pretzel logical?
Whatever the reason, dirty laundry in preseason
washed clean yawl, if Ray take us to the Super Bawl.
Tennis anyone?

James

You are the fire in my veins.
You are the spark to my fire.
Running from the hard truth, that you don’t need me the same way I need you.
Thought that we were forever, babe.
It’s all wrong but it all alright.
Cause the world just in hates me, you’re the only one.
I’m a hostage to the way that I think.
I know this is my fault, I’m so ashamed.
What is it going to take for me to get you back?
So now I’ve got baggage.
Don’t be surprised.
Something is telling me this ain’t over yet.

When you finally get the key, they changed the lock on the door.
The stars are on your side.
Feels like I’m nothing, won’t you save me.
A thousand miles away from you, a broken mess.
I thought I heard the door open, but I only heard it close.
I hope you’ll hear me in the street lights humming.
But can you hear me say, don’t throw me away?
All of these feelings that I’ve shared, these are my dreams.
And I can’t read your mind, I love you when you’re mine; can we make up?
Why did you have to be perfect?
I opt to find my alien fiancé.
So don’t let me bleed out here alone.

Premium Member Blame it on Hydra

It was a memorable evening, bright
with my beautiful, charming fiancé
(once my wretched, tormented heart's delight)
near the old village of Fatheringay.

Drawn by the lilt of a whispery voice,
we found ourselves in a dark, rustic pub.
An inner misgiving questioned our choice.
A man served drinks from a hook on a stub.

After imbibing a strange, bubbling brew,
we dawdled the full moon-lit countryside.
In the lunar light, her eyes shone light blue -
mine, a phosphorus glow, like Mr. Hyde.

We gazed at the Hydra constellation,
where the Ghost of Jupiter nebula
somehow unfastened my reservation,
as its image fell on my retina.

That my grandfather was a lycanthrope,
and a mad cascade of serpentine thoughts,
this myriad of disclosures doused hope
(a demented disconnection of dots).

The vile dreams would slither back to their hole
too late for my near bride of eighteen.
The strong brew's effects had taken their toll.
My love was never again to be seen.

No, my true love was no more to be seen.

Premium Member is it his mothers fault

he stopped to think about his life
when he was stranded on the desert island
was his wife-to-be someone he could be proud of?
Why had he chosen her?
She never put him first
many times, she put him last.

He thinks about her children
They ridicule him
Possibly learned this behavior from their mother
The wedding is to be in four weeks
why has it taken him so long to figure this out?
who asked whom to marry anyway?

He sits in silence, listening to the ocean lap quietly against the rocks.
Had he ever intended to marry her?
It’s the man’s job to ask, isn’t it?
How did he get roped into this situation?
Is it his mother’s fault? She is an aggressive female
Like his fiancé

Will he speak up or be lead around by another woman?
One who is as pushy and caustic as his mother?
He waves the boat on when it comes to pick him up.

Need

A long line progressing slowly, the long line to receive results for the students. Apala was standing almost at the end of the line. Pulok was standing in front of her. Pulok is her classmate, but Pulok is more famous as the fiancé of Bindu. Both are from different departments of the university, but they are very famous within the whole campus.
But a recent rumor is spreading everywhere about their break-up, Students are observing them separately in different places.
Apala was sweating a lot. She had a terrible understanding of a difficult subject to grasp, the exam also did not go easy.
Two people rushed through the line. Apala saw them, Bindu was passing her with another boy. Apala, with an astonished face, looked at Pulok, standing in front of her. Pulok was staring at the swiftly disappearing shadows of Bindu and her friend. His eyes had grief or anger, Apala could not decipher that.
She turned around and watched Bindu, one more time.
Apala felt a rage inside her. She felt she could slap this boy that Bindu was with.
Last night, some unfortunate incidents happened in Apala’s house, too. At one point Apala’s parents handed her a packet of cookies politely and told her to take a quick walk and come back within an hour. They permitted her to go to any of her friends' houses too.
An hour was probably enough to calm down a manic episode.
She was groaning in anguish,
” Are there none sick in this world? Why so much pain on me? It is killing me too!”
She was wandering around aimlessly near the nearby bookstore. She was almost numb with an acute headache. How many revenges of life are awaiting in one life?
“Are you okay? Are you feeling dizzy? Do you need help there?” Apala returned to sense with Pulok’s question. She looked at Pulok.
She saw a pair of gentle, curious, and caring eyes. She could not find any traces of heartache.... lost love.
Apala lowered her gaze.
And then, she uttered a sentence with every single word, clear and loud.
“If I fall down, let me be that way.”
