Need

A long line progressing slowly, the long line to receive results for the students. Apala was standing almost at the end of the line. Pulok was standing in front of her. Pulok is her classmate, but Pulok is more famous as the fiancé of Bindu. Both are from different departments of the university, but they are very famous within the whole campus. But a recent rumor is spreading everywhere about their break-up, Students are observing them separately in different places. Apala was sweating a lot. She had a terrible understanding of a difficult subject to grasp, the exam also did not go easy. Two people rushed through the line. Apala saw them, Bindu was passing her with another boy. Apala, with an astonished face, looked at Pulok, standing in front of her. Pulok was staring at the swiftly disappearing shadows of Bindu and her friend. His eyes had grief or anger, Apala could not decipher that. She turned around and watched Bindu, one more time. Apala felt a rage inside her. She felt she could slap this boy that Bindu was with. Last night, some unfortunate incidents happened in Apala’s house, too. At one point Apala’s parents handed her a packet of cookies politely and told her to take a quick walk and come back within an hour. They permitted her to go to any of her friends' houses too. An hour was probably enough to calm down a manic episode. She was groaning in anguish, ” Are there none sick in this world? Why so much pain on me? It is killing me too!” She was wandering around aimlessly near the nearby bookstore. She was almost numb with an acute headache. How many revenges of life are awaiting in one life? “Are you okay? Are you feeling dizzy? Do you need help there?” Apala returned to sense with Pulok’s question. She looked at Pulok. She saw a pair of gentle, curious, and caring eyes. She could not find any traces of heartache.... lost love. Apala lowered her gaze. And then, she uttered a sentence with every single word, clear and loud. “If I fall down, let me be that way.”
