Finger Painting

Before he could draw his mind
da Vinci made cathedrals with his fingers.

We once built an adobe hut
in New Mexico,
I was surprised how alike it was
to a poem taking shape.

When it was done, we pressed our hands
and fingers into the still wet mud walls.
The last rays of the evening sun
turned those hand-prints into gilded gold.

It was then that we knew we were Adam and Eve
and there was nothing yet but us
until the world would arrive
like an old painting out of nowhere.

A world bloodstained and crazy enough
to build helicopters or a Mona Lisa,
a bowl of fruit, or an adobe house in the desert.

That world had countless fingers
shaped from pure energy.

Together we formed a God
out of sticks and stones,
a rough idol that was holy for a while.

We kept it on a shelf above a small fireplace.
Often the flickering shadows of the flames
resembled the nimble fingers of an artist
at work.

Premium Member The Theological Insights of Archie Bunker

Last Saturday night I dropped by for a few beers at Kelsey's Bar.
Archie Bunker was there, drinkin' beer and chompin' on a nickel seegar,
Expoundin' on religion and his pinko, atheist son-in-law, Meathead!
If you dared to contradict him, he'd tell you right off to drop dead!

"Edith gits her guidance from The Reverend Fletcher but the Bible is my guide!
Now you take Adam and Eve. She took a bite of apple and to God she lied!
So woman brung about the downfall of man and God got purty sore I hear,
And saith, "Clothe thyselfs in fig leaves and git the 'ell outta here!"

"Meathead said Christ was Jewish - musta been on His mother's side!
But what does that atheist know about such things - God he don't abide!
He don't believe Christ is the Son of God but the Bible says it's so!
To prove that, ever'body gits Christmas off to jubilate as we know!"

"God can do anything, buddy! He can turn your jawbone into an ass!
Don't listen to nothin' Meathead says about religion - he's so full of gas!
I say God created the world in seven days - Edith said it was six days,
'Cause He rested on the seventh - maybe so - He works in mysterious ways!"

"God don't make no mistakes - that's how He got to be ruler of the universe!
So don't go blamin' Him for your troubles - without Him things could be worse!"
My head was spinning when I left Kelsey's Bar and it wasn't because of the beer!
'Twas Archie Bunker's curious doctrinal insights that brought it on, I fear!

Premium Member The Purpose of Your Life

“What is the purpose of my life? you ask
as you try to figure out your life task.
Well, that is a question for your Maker,
Who gave Adam the job of caretaker.

Your purpose is not to earn men’s applaud,
but to live for the glory of God.
Not just to gain a good education,
but to obtain heaven’s citation.

Your life’s purpose is not a great career.
You’re here on earth, the love of God to share.
Not just to build a successful business,
but to daily demonstrate God’s goodness.

You are not here just to occupy space,
but to live a noble life by God’s grace.
Not just to foster a fine family,
but become a part of God’s family.

Your purpose is not great riches to earn,
but to unite with Christ and from Him learn,
the fear of God which will make you wise
and help you to win the eternal prize.

Your life’s purpose begins and ends with God.
Live to please Him, by His glory be awed.
When your daily life brings God enjoyment,
you will find life’s ultimate fulfillment.

Time Travel

Just imagine if you could time travel,
What sort of mysteries could you unravel?
I would stop every minute of the day,
Pull down the bosses trousers for all the deductions in my pay.

I would go back in time when I was young,
And kick the bugger’s **** for all the times he failed instead of won.
I’ll take a stack of photos all of me,
And scatter through each era in history.

I’d place crab claws in all the fossils they consider a human missing link,
And in each crab claw a Budweiser drink, what do you think?
But most of all I would love to see God creating the heavens and the Earth,
To camcorder the events of their birth.

I’d tell Adam “Don’t listen to that woman, don’t eat the fruit.”
For her daughter’s will nag your sons and spend their loot.
And how they boast that birth pains are like no other,
That his sons are blind to the fact they turn out to be just like their mother.

Did I tell you I can time travel but it’s a pain?
And did I tell you how frightened I am of flying in a plane?
All I get out of it is feeling tired which is a drag,
So good night all, this time traveller is going to sleep off the jetlag.

In the beginning God created
In the beginning was the Word
Word was with God
Word was God
God knew Adam
God knew Eve
Eve knew the Tree of Knowledge
Eve knew the apple
Apple has a serpent's interest
Apple in Latin is evil
Evil cast from Paradise
Evil trades for jealousy
Jealousy renders the first murder
Jealousy surrenders the first confession
Confession leads to banishment
Confession too great to bear the penalty
Penalty where a whole world drown
Penalty when a new world is found
Found a unified arrowed target

Exhaustive was her age to bear
Exhaustive another learned fate
Fate ends a city's future

Against Your Will

The shape of the world is not a man standing on a globe, or a man dressed in white robe, it is the shape of the heart that leaves you scrambling in the dark. It resonates through the machines and disrupts your personal dreams.

It climbs up the Chimney looking for something to prove, while scattering black sooth on top of roof. It leaves you stranded at the gate waiting on something that will never come and so destiny will have to get up and run.

The world stands aloof in front of me making silent music in the trees the wild duck is swimming in the pond with the little ducklings follow along. I watched the morning suns rises above the wall scatterings its heat all over the streets melting the asphalts underneath's my feet.

The road in front leads to nowhere , don't listen to them because they have nothing to share, mythology and legendary baked in the sun, you have to complete the task before the day is done.

I can feel your presences in my space, I am trying to tell you something about the human race, the clock will not tick until you get me out of the ditch, hard hands will not do, tender and loving hands will move you along.

If the garden could speak, Adam would come out crawling on his knee begging for mercy and the serpent would have licked the apple juice above his knees and then he would have understood the meaning of glory.

It was not a hard fought battle, it was just the conscience of man devouring the pestilence hiding in the desert sand.

I could feel the thumping in his heart and the agony that he felt from the start. He didn't want a ceasefire so he had to fight against his innate desire.

He was given an ultimatum and if he did not accept it his days would be done. He knew what the fight was all about, it has nothing to do with the people's shout. It is tied to years of history, the rejection, persecution and hate and fulfilling the promise that is tied up in the gates , oh how his heart breaks.

He wants to fulfill the biblical prediction holding David and goliath in two different hands. The philistine were bruised and left walking around without shoes, and on the final day he drove the philistine away and swallowed his breath and retreat to the war cabinet with a map, a pick axe and a hammer.

                                   Uniting two different cells
                             Into invisible human personhood
A pearl in shell of flesh and blood
                              A symphony of countless notes
                                 Marching towards maturity
                                Silently waiting for the door
                                   With comfort and ease

Soft like breeze, tender like dew
With beauty of dawn and dusk
The little soul eats, moves and beats
                                         But does not breath
With genes creating a distinct self
                                    promising a gifted persona
                             A scientist, artist, explorer, reformist
The lustrous life is all personified

Living in the abode of love and joy
                                An eternal reflection of creativity
                             An expression of unbroken continuity
Much before the times of Adam
In the realm of human existence
The beginning of a new song
With notes of trust, hope and resolve
                           Enhancing every moment by epigenesis

Escaping the pitiless and the pill
                                      Treating the budding life
As a by-product of carnal entertainment
Continuing the journey from the organic
To inorganic world of vagaries and whims
Yet to know how to flirt with the world
The unborn is confident and assured that
The Creator is the perpetual protector

Premium Member Love You Like

Can you believe
we were put on his earth
like Adam and Eve.
We were made for each other.
I want to love you like
the romantic couples
in any of the Hollywood movies
you care to name.
Like the crazy insane
and the untamed
like Tarzan love Jane.
I want to love you like
there’s no one else to blame.

I want our love story
to go down in history
like happily ever after.
As we re-write the next chapter
in the Hall of Fame,
with me screaming your name.

I wanna love you like
Barack loves Michelle Obama
with an impossible love
like it’s the easiest thing to do.
And before I’m through,
I will have swim
the ocean of your love
and going down like the Titanic.

I want to love you like
going through hell and high water
is what I gladly do every day.
I want to love you for all the reasons
people fail
to love each other.
I want to love you like
the old songs
of the Captain & Tennille.
(Love will keep us together,)
(Do that to me one more time.)
And with this poem
(I write the songs.)

The Apple of His Eyes

reflected in the pond, the fruit
held precious in the lady’s hand.
polished by mistake; the loot
gathered with a serpentine backhand.

the limbs of oz took hold, as
the man held out his unwise hand.
the cleaved, in juicy bite pizazz,
forsook their love, served up bland.

reflected in the mirror, the duo’s tears
shattered their perfect life, untouched.
day after day, the wrinkles rage; fears
of losing one another; their hearts’ clutched.

discovery of their nakedness, a shock.
they tried to cover up with leaves of fig;
not good enough. Like a bomb, time’s ticktock.
God slaughtered, clothed them with a sacrifice, not a sprig.

apple looked so luscious, and to have knowledge
seemed so precious; Adam and Eve drew a curtain
between themselves and the Creator (his foreknowledge).
Every other fruit, not denied; with a bite death was certain.

Indeed, their eyes were opened, to shame, shamelessly.
Terror of the darkness, made their pupils expand.
But they couldn’t take paradise back. Carelessly
they acted recklessly, now all generations in bad land.

Oh, but the LOVE of GOD, all seeds are the apple
of His eyes. We don’t understand the suffering.
Whys in abundance, feeling sorry for ourselves chapel.
All along a plan - of scourge, betrayal, and crucified buffering.

To justify, to mediate, to keep us from the Father’s wrath,
the Son of Man, descended from heaven; a babe in flesh.
Look at the bronze snake on the tree, the sign, His path.
Healing symbolized, realized by the final sacrifice thresh.

Born of Spirit

??John 3:5-8 KJVAAE??
[5] Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. [6] That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. [7] Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. [8] The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

??Galatians 4:22-24 KJVAAE??
[22] For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a free woman. [23] But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the free woman was by promise. [24] Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Si´nai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Hagar.
[26] But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
[31] So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

Born of Adam in the flesh, sinful nature, going against God
Reborn from God's promised spirit through Christ,
Rolling away Stony heart that the Holy Spirit might enter,
To raise up a new creation within that longs for God's word,
To dwell within as being purified into A Child of the Living God.
