Smitten by Kitten Disinterest

never loved cat ways
their tail-flicking arrogance
their unasked-for gaze
my family longed for one —
I yielded, keeping distance

stray kitten arrived
they all fawned gushed over it
but the cat chose me
the least interested one
who shooed and shoved it away

smitten by kitten
my heart disinterested
lurched to beat retreat
we're inseparable now
the kitten has claimed my lap

A Night Cap B4 a Cat Nap

It's been such a purrrrfect day.
it's fun to play.
I love sugarplum wishes.

rooster fell in love with Cali Kitten

The rooster was in love, thrown off his feed, smitten
He had fallen in love with a gorgeous tabby kitten
The cat in question still lived with her sainted mother.

grandma’s kitten was outrageously large
The guy at the pet store had said “no charge”
They had to get rid of it by end of day
Grandma loved that she did not have to pay
