Key Out Poems | Examples

I Got In Trouble With The Maid

I was seven, barefoot in the hallway,
nose pressed to the brass knob of the guest room—
she’d left the key out,
but I wanted to see through,
the way you want to see the belly of a piano,
strings naked, all hammer and throat.

The maid caught me,
her voice full of linen snaps and starch—
What are you doing, Miss?
I lied. Said I was looking for the cat.
There was no cat.
Only the shimmer of her hair under her cap,
and the broken goldfish bowl of my curiosity,
spilled on the carpet of my chest.

That night the sky turned dark like a locked door.
I thought about the keyhole,
how it had looked back at me.
How secrets sit still like fish
in the murk of people’s lives,
waiting for someone small and stupid
to come tap the glass.
And I,
with my hollow hands and soft mouth,
wanted only to know
what lived behind things.

Dont Be Your Pasts Wind Up Toy

Something has you really dazed
You seem lost and kind of phased
Confused, hurt and really blue
Tell me what happened to you
What made you feel like this
Taking away all your bliss
Leaving you in a weird place
There's a look upon your face
That is new--your eyes are blank
It's like somebody took a crank
Winding you up--letting go
Watching your emotions flow
From a wound up shattered heart
That has been bruised by a shot
Of despair and heartache
Leaving you to bend and break
By a person that can hold
The master key--turning you cold
From the frigidness of steel
Stuck in your back as you feel
A twirl of emptiness and loss
Take that key out--try to toss
The memories in your mind
Hallucinations will not wind
You up if you find
It is just all from a time
Of a bad and upset past
Shake it out it will not last
Reality will soon shine through
Happiness heading back to you

Whispers of Love When Sound Like Screams

O ye all un-tethered men and women
Listening a lot lesser than one-half,
Absorbing half of that— (all bull and bluff!),
Reacting still as many times as twice—
In fraction of what we may call a trice,
And thinking thru their heart, head next to none…
No wonder, a lot in your life goes wrong,
A lot sounds off-key, out of tune a song,
In mad haste still, ye ho hums of heaven
On slippery edge of a precipice,
End up nigh just as they had once begun—
Like two pawns of a gambling game of dice;
Yet, when life sinks, and sours like a bad dream,
Even love whispers sound like frantic scream.

Men and women seem to fall in love and out of it as fast; come together as fast to fall foul; together in bed and still miles apart; always on the edge, pouts of doubt; what ere were whispers of love turning into loud screams of exasperation.

The Games We Play

The Games We play

Wait stop!!!
             “still in Neutral"

The Games we play

We are both confused still walking around in circles like figure eights

Wait stop!!!
              “still in neutral"

We both play this same sport but different positions

The Games we play

Hold On !!!

            Wait still in neutral?

Monopoly games we play with each other with no dice in are hands
Now wait I still can’t convince you ?

The Games we play

Now the under achiever wants to achieve something more

Wait!!

 “still in Neutral”

The Games we play

Two inseparable lovers only have one goal
Pause !!! all players need too huddle up for a team meeting

The Games we play
We resume back too play with only one objective

 Now hold up and Wait

When you cry I am your shoulder you can lean on

Hold on for a second I am about too change Gears

The Games we play

when you take the key out this ignition their no you and I

Now "It's Game Over" JCMT

Lost Love

Needles in my veins,
Bullets through my skull,
Whisky in my blood,
Tears amongst my eyes,
Scars black-out my wrists,
Murder floats through my mind,
What’s more to miss, love hope, misery, or just a simple kiss ,
Love has found the key out of heart, and there’s no entrance left ajar,
Why couldn’t you conceive that I would have given up all I own and love to just be
a sliver of your heart,
Did you ever notice what I hade to go through to try to get close to you,
I hope you don’t forget my pain, because that chance has been banished from
the depths of my dreams,
You’ve lost my kiss, my sympathy, and love for such a darling flower as your self,
At last I bid you good-by my lost love and hope you too don’t fight yourself, cut
yourself, and drink away your misery, just forget and don’t think of me for all it’s
worth I’m just dust and fading fog.

Heavenly Meadow's , Pt. 2

conquer and divide , shadow from light
a theater uncommon to common sight
ultimate gifts fore the fight is right
the future bright , soar to new heights

from the stars , they await
a new champion to call
await , as we all
for the darkness to fall

then and only then
will we earn and find
the key out of shadows
to the sunlit meadows of our mind's .
