A Seat Taken, A Spirit Kept

O classroom once alive with gentle voices,
Where morning greetings bloomed so bright and clear,
I leave you now—stripped of certain choices,
Unheard, unseen, dismissed through quiet fear.

The silence came—a shadow down the hall,
Erasing names without a single word.
No answer rose to break the rising wall,
No hand reached out, no empathy was stirred.

shines reflective sea lapping
rocks plus skipping a house mouse.

Stoic
structured aperture aiding
scarred fought homeless heroic.

Sullen
elements outstretched expanse
points a critter to lull in.

Manmade
contraption whirrs about as
a little varmint evade.

Compass 
nils bearing takes point
unexpected practices.

Keeper
mermaid purged surging wave,
tempt failed, saves a dreamer.

Loss Kept on Marching

Tremors shake beneath trepidatious feet.

To shake when shooken offers scents of defeat.

Took in thine imagery from perches unseen.

Salivating secretions ooze and seep secrecy.

Scantily clad corruptions do sit upright.

Smirking shards the aimless beacon leads.

Lapping pools of torment to endless vacancy.

Loser coagulates down under unsettled concrete.

We'd fly off in bliss, our purr-fect dream date
I deemed you my winner

She Kept Guessing Until She Got It Right

As a cartoonist, I can play a bit with my students.
I like drawing a bit at a time, letting them guess.
The little girl guessed a puppy, kitty, panda bear.
Finally, alligator which was close after I drew scales.
Her last guess was a dragon – a cloud dragon.
