Kept Poems - Poems about Kept

A Seat Taken, A Spirit Kept

O classroom once alive with gentle voices,
Where morning greetings bloomed so bright and clear,
I leave you now—stripped of certain choices,
Unheard, unseen, dismissed through quiet fear.

The silence came—a shadow down the hall,
Erasing names without a single word.
No answer rose to break the rising wall,
No hand reached out, no empathy was stirred.

The leader’s crown slipped heavy from

My children, your births kept me on my knees

To all my children, may you please be aware!
I don't always show it, but I will always care.
Each of you have been a great gift to me.
Your births made this man happy as can be.
Each came to this world in a very unique way.
Causing me to humble, seek God and to pray.
I'd like to share

Premium Memberonly one kept her curls

My mother’s curls were teeny tiny, ringlets of gray
Tightly wound, as if they had been set around toothpicks
My sister and I had golden curls until we were two.
They gave us a haircut, and that was the end of them.

Our brother had curls, but they embarrassed our father.
He did not think he looked like a real

The Cold of Fear

Cold is the tittering of befitted feet
Cold is the meagre meanders of falling fractals
Cold is the twinge of bitter blues upon reeling retreats
Cold is the roiling retch of frostbitten flesh
Cold is the weary wench of an incomplete belch
Cold is the hoarded heath upon a ridiculed roof
Cold is the eerie ebb of a trepid twitch
Cold

Best kept secret in China
When the Bangiao dam collapsed
No one told for a long time
This was 1975, before people had computers or an internet
240, 000 people died that day, and no one told.

Please do not open my wound, I already kept it open for a while

I might raise both of my eyebrows.
Even though I just walked away after comments others make.
We crash on each other yet again,
I mean, since when have we not?
But asking, if something is going on between our too,
just left me ashamed with full of regrets, that I even started.
Started knowing how the blood would

Loss Kept on Marching

Tremors shake beneath trepidatious feet.

To shake when shooken offers scents of defeat.

Took in thine imagery from perches unseen.

Salivating secretions ooze and seep secrecy.

Scantily clad corruptions do sit upright.

Smirking shards the aimless beacon leads.

Lapping pools of torment to endless vacancy.

Loser coagulates down under unsettled concrete.

Locked moments buried flags of victory.

Kept Cat

You called me your dream bird, now it's too late
We'd fly off in bliss, our purr-fect dream date
I deemed you my winner
you deemed me your dinner
How does it feel to be my kept cat, mate?

Your Flirting Kept Me Hurting

I never knew that I could hurt
So bad till I saw you flirt
With a girl behind the bar
Smiling brightly like a star
I was gonna get a drink
After work so I could think
About problems in my life
Till you stabbed with with a knife
Of betrayal I would see
At the door--It couldn't be
You were gonna be at work
At

Premium Memberkept my thoughts to myself

Shirley Zee loved cooking, cleaning and canning
While her apple pies in the window were fanning
Her life is so easy said our neighbor, Snoop Manning
I rolled my eyes, trying my best to be dead-panning

I knew the truth about Shirley’s marvelous life
She had plenty of problems, lots of turmoil and strife
A sneaky snake in kitten’s clothing had

God Has Treats

God has treats, promises so grand,
The revelation of His grace declared,
Open your eyes, your ears, let them fix on Him,
Embrace the harvest moment, relaxing in Him.

He is moving in awesome ways so true,
The revival fires ignite within you.
New levels of strength, rise up from within you,
In humble beginnings, revival stirs within you.

Though the vision

As a cartoonist, I can play a bit with my students.
I like drawing a bit at a time, letting them guess.
The little girl guessed a puppy, kitty, panda bear.
Finally, alligator which was close after I drew scales.
Her last guess was a dragon – a cloud dragon.
I realized then that I had decorated the beast with
