In that inner sky
where mists unravel
we gather.
If we were to say "my heart"
that would mean nothing.
If we say, "the company I keep"
that is everything.
Those that abide
are all those
that step where we step,
look where we look, see what we see.
If we were to say 'God"
that might mean nothing,
yet
all the 'those' that we are
keep abreast of my breast,
talk with my lips
write just for the praise of
myself,
and that is God
if I were to call it that.
Have a cap, a baseball type cap
With the NASA symbol emblazoned
Had an interesting trip to Cape Canaveral
A symbol of man's dedication
Feels so good wearing this cap
Such a tribute to man's ingenuity
Each day something else blows my mind
The progress, the real continuity
In leaps and bounds we move ahead
It's left my poor mind in the dust
Am really too old to keep abreast anymore
Age makes it difficult to adjust
So from little ole me I'm sending this
A tribute to those amazing people
Who've forged this path to heaven above
To me it all seems so surreal
You can beat the rest,
you can be the best
You can feather your own nest
and take worries off your chest.
You can win the contest
You can keep abreast,
You can make it in the Midwest,
you can make it anywhere.
You can win the war
You can beat the wall.
You can make it out of the pit
even when no one hear you call.
You can go further,
You can get loads off your shoulder.
You can make it proper,
you can be someone's helper.
You can move from good to better,
be the best and never say never.
Never rest cos there is
much sleep after death.

so bashful, the breast
as it sags silently in rest
as it sways
- a motion that preys
on the mind of man
so bold, the breast
with a single hut
across a deep valley cut
to another
- a hat on a beach
of softest sand
- a silky land
creamy smooth
and quite aloof
holding its head up high
as wanton fingers reach to pry
so silly, the breast
a mere structure
- a perfect appendage
- a factory, a tool
that shaped nations, history, fate
with man but the fool
Have a cap, a baseball type cap
With the NASA symbol emblazoned
Reminds me of my visit to Cape Canaveral
A symbol of man's dedication
Feels so good wearing this hat
Such a tribute to man's ingenuity
Each day something else blows my mind
The progress, the real continuity
In leaps and bounds we move ahead
It's left my poor mind in the dust
Am really too old to keep abreast anymore
Age makes it difficult to adjust
So from little old me I'm sending this
A tribute to those amazing people
Who've forged this path to the heavens above
To me it all seems so surreal

a trilonnet
Take honesty, really does it matter?
By evasion truth can be suppressed.
Lies are critical in the new world view.
If it serves the cause, who cares if it’s true?
How do you expect one to keep abreast
with all that’s on a partisan platter?
Changing the question with so much natter
has thrown me when I’ve cheated in the past,
leaves a gut feeling that threats will ensue.
Though I have not always thought this one through,
by and large, candid stands up to the test.
Cunning or candor, I'll take the latter.
I know, and I know another who knows;
when life is over, it’s truth He'll expose.

That word
What does it mean?
Is it to glean?
Or
To
Cause a ravine or seam
Or
To tritely inflict
The mean-
-ing
Of a theme
It seems
To
Me
That such a thing
Is small
And
Has little
To bring
Or
To
Ring
Yes, much less
To
Sing
Nothing to suggest
Or
To cause
To
Keep abreast
But
Overt
In its
Suggest
Of
What words
One
Can’t bring
To mind’s crest
And thus
Attest
A
Vagueness of wit
…at best.
A precious penny for your thoughts,
for five a good cigar.
Prevailing wisdom up in smoke
to regale the nearest star.
Keep abreast of Smith and friends,
but true friends we disdain.
As eager birds beat frantic wings
in sunrise search for gain.
A moron's gold soon disappears,
no noontime meal is free
Roll every penny and they're yours,
on that we all agree.
Shopworn phrases from the past
still speak to here and now.
It's amazing still how money talks-
that final, sacred cow.
