They existed, they were here
Real people made to disappear
Hidden history, lies and erasure
For them it was protocol
For us It became normal
What really is normal
In the conversation of racism
Of different rules
When it comes to black people
It becomes opposite -
What is, is what's not
What's not is what is
A confusing cycle
We are expected to follow
When they themselves
Aren't reliable
This isn't about judicial rule
More control of a certain race of people
Don't be fooled -
By the fake smiles they draw
This is not societal
This is purely individual
If it wasn't, their morals would be total
The system of law -
Would be equal
However that is not the case at all
When eradication is their goal
It's why they deny their history of violence
It's why they bury our stories in silence
It's why they bleach the stains of their hate
It's why they burn our bodies to rid of their guilt
It's why they drown our voices in the ocean of their lies
It's why our history books are empty of our ink - just the erasure of our names
the air reeks of stale coffee and ink-stamped lies,
judges sit like smug kings,
smirking over lives they'll never live,
dismissing truth with a gavel's cough.
innocent men shuffle like cattle,
faces drawn, hands calloused from the grind—
plead guilty or rot waiting.
'justice, ' they call it,
while the lawyers get fat off their despair.
the court stenographer types it all up,
the lies, the twisted logic,
and the perjury sworn like gospel
under a fluorescent crucifix.
if you or I did what they do,
we'd be cuffed and carted off,
but they wear robes like armor,
cloaked in immunity,
proud in their manipulation,
gods of small, dirty kingdoms.
good men shrink in fear,
their courage ground down
by the grinding stone of this machine—
truth doesn't pay,
honor doesn't sell,
and doing the right thing
is the fastest way to lose.
Hillsborough,
where the guilty are freed
and the innocent are crushed,
where justice is just another game
rigged from the start,
Callused, without a true heart.
If lower court grants bail one day,
High court stays, saying oh, no way,
Ah with judicial airs
Courts play musical chairs,
And the top court then stays the stay.
Too bad, justice delayed
When weighed, weighed and reweighed,
Perfection still remains at bay.

Poet’s note: And this ditty wonders if the country (and the world as well) is aware that our modern judicial process has become extremely slow, and that millions of cases get pending (as in India). We should know, courts are manned by humans who in no way are perfect. That, seeking too much perfection is waste of time.

Judicial Branch of our government
Supreme Court
I’m more motivated today,
Trying to find a simpler way.
To beat the judicial system,
Must appeal to someone’s wisdom.
That’s laughable to say the least,
As the judicial system, is quite the beast?
No easy way to start again,
As they’re in charge, of where and when.
They’re forcing me to run away,
I have no other place to stay.
All I want, is a productive life,
A new beginning, not all this strife.
Instead they, have dropped the ball,
And of course, blame me for all.
In response, all I can say,
“I’ve paid my dues, I want to stay”.
So now, again, I sit and wait,
Still a prisoner, this time of fate.
If left to them, and their discretion,
Will watch the system, and its regression.
A druid's interpretation of forefathers' declaration
There shall be twixt Church and State a separation
There shall never be a separation twixt God and state
This "over simplification" of what they said cuts through
and shreds all of The Magnificent Arguments lawyers
judges and atheists have put forth and causes this latest
Supreme Court decision to be considered treason
What else can one call overthrowing constitutional law
but treason
God willing before they fire their chaplain
This congress can come to its senses
This country started with a revolution
Men put their necks at risk ruined their lives to say
We are free to govern ourselves
Under God and no church shall interfere
This druid says replace incompetence
But 'tis only wry humor
Incompetents multiply too quickly
In any robes they don
