Premium MemberLook What I Found

A few years back, one day, while planting trees
My shovel hit a little metal box
I instantly dropped to my hands and knees
Removing the surrounding dirt and rocks

I noticed right away it had two locks
It looked to have a filigree design
I smiled as though I'd dug into Ft Knox
Adrenaline had me up on cloud nine

With garden hose, I washed away the grime
Then shined it gently with my old t-shirt
I jimmied both the locks in record time
And what a treasure mixed in with the dirt

My heart was thumping in childlike elation
I'd rediscovered my imagination.

Junk - Jobless Jack

Jobless Jack, a real jerk, dances a jig,
He juggles, smuggles jewels in backpacks,
jawbreakers, jump ropes, jelly rolls and crack.
~~Jig be up, Jack'll jiggle in the brig.~~

Junk jingles and jangles, squeals like a pig
jerked and jacked from joints on his pickup routes.
Amid crates of jackets, jeans, and jump suits,
Jobless Jack, a real jerk, dances a jig,

Jack jimmied the Jaguar trunk of some prig;
now Judge Judy’s searching Jack's jalopy.
“Jumping Jehoshaphat, what’s this jersey?"
~~Jig be up, Jack'll jiggle in the brig.~~

Jobless Jack, a real jerk, dances a jig,
her missing jersey was what the judge found.
~~Jig be up, Jack'll jiggle in the brig.~

Whats In a Name

He served me up an ice cream sundae on a trey,
with only one cherry on top to my dismay,
instead asked the maitre dee for a parfait,
he said roger that I'll bring it back with no delay,

And while at the cafe I overheard a lady saying she wanted to sue,
angry about the dry cleaners ruining her rose suit,
I just went about my way the story getting harry,
next thing I knew my boyfriend asked me to mary me,

We ended up getting married on a summer's eve,
but my new husbands colin burst when he let out a sneeze,
using a philips screwdriver that was up my sleeve,
we put it back now intact with one les bill to grieve,

Then later I managed to get stuck in the john,
my husband jimmied the lock and I was gone,
soon things started to get back to newlywed norm,
each day waking up for our jobs at the break of dawn,

Afterwards for 9 months ate nothing but pickles and candy,
suddenly I felt my luke warm water break which was jim dandy,
now baby makes three which means more to cary,
along with our pet tomcat whom we named scaredy.

Equinox

All things being equal, as they are upon this day,
The time of light and that of dark equivalent of span,
We sat upon the beaten bench above the traffic crawl,
Sipping from the draining hours as they broke and ran.

Aloft the terraced houses, huddled ramshackle and spent,
A shepard sky of red delight beneath the stars above,
As dimly they revealed themselves when night came closing in,
Soft focused glitterati beads that shone on fledgling love.

And looking in her eyes I thought of all that was to come,
Of all the kingdoms I might walk if she were at my side,
Bedazzled by her tilting head, the bronze cascade of hair,
A chisel jimmied in my heart and snapped it open wide.

All things being equal, as they were that vernal point,
When spring had risen in her breast and sang within my head,
Little did we realise these moments had a twin,
Equality in darker terms when Autumn dared to tread.

Stardust

Star-struck, the cult of celebrity
Hit home in the loin, lodged in the brain,
Ram-raided my sentiment road block,
  Derailed like a runaway train.

Barged into the ribcage strong box,
  Ripped time locks asunder, apart;
Jimmied the windows to the soul,
  Looted the treasured heart.

Stardust, the dazzle of divinity,
  Brilliant, white and clear,
Synchronised gulfs of obsession,
  Blinded with all it's veneer.

Sending out vibrant sensations,
  Demand I be wanted alone,
But what will shine back in conclusion
When I gaze at the stardust unknown?
