The Tempter

(A seductive voice, smiles as it looks over New York. While the sun rises)

So my old record plays

As the early morning mists slowly
Drift in

And herald the new dawn of those beguiled by sin

The politicians
Government's

People
Lovers and haters

Oh, how the air is rich
With such irreducible tension

As they all wander around with delicious apprehension

Gossipping
Feeling self important and all the while never knowing

They've been all bewitched

With global wars, politics and tensions worldwide, on many levels.

Has the power of influence shifted slightly to the other side, in the spiritual game of freewill

Between two immortal powers?

Can you feel the world slowly getting darker?

The way we diminish
the irreducible
is by drawing a veil
of ignorance on soul ~
dark fear forms that assail.

The way we diminish
divine omnipresence
is by conjuring thought,
plunging us in deep trance ~
dream life ego begot.

The way we diminish
our innate blissfulness
is stifling throb of love,
choosing separation ~
head-heart not hand in glove.

The way we diminish
our soul's luminescence
is addiction to fear,
trauma bonding with mind ~
letting not God draw near.

NOTE:THIS IS AN OPEN(organic) FORM VERSE using spaces&breaks without grammatical symbols ,the ' open' relies upon 'the one breath limitation' & so inherently requires the 'reader' (reciter) to input and responds thus making this enigmatic form a two way interplay & interpretatIon unique to the moment& changing according to mood is inherently variable.

Symmetrically Stunning Simplicity

Simplicity seduces stunning symmetrically salivating stimuli
Complexity confounds controlled curiosities calculating clarify
Ambiguous ambitions amplify arousing academics admirable
Mellifluous melodies making magical memories memorable

Poetic pendulums pondering pensive promiscuous pleasures
Esthetic echoes encouraging efficacious emulative endeavors
Deceiving diametrical dilemmas distancing dichotic delusions
Receiving rhythmically ratiocinative raging roaring revolutions

Beautiful breaths breathing benevolent boisterous behaving
Irreducible imaginary immortalizing idling iconic interfacing
Harmonic hemispheres hovering Homeric humble hypnotic
Tectonic transitions technical tantalizing theatrics thermotic.

The Forge

The Forge
by Michael R. Burch

To at last be indestructible, a poem
must first glow, almost flammable, upon
a thing inert, as gray, as dull as stone,

then bend this way and that, and slowly cool
at arms-length, something irreducible
drawn out with caution, toughened in a pool

of water so contrary just a hiss
escapes it—water instantly a mist.
It writhes, a thing of senseless shapelessness ...

And then the driven hammer falls and falls.
The horses prick their ears in nearby stalls.
A soldier on his cot leans back and smiles.

A sound of ancient import, with the ring
of honest labor, sings of fashioning.

Emerging Yellow

When I look at the charred plasma
of a bare knuckled wind
I forget yellow

I forget the smeared tone
of skunk cabbage
rising through fog and mulch
or how in Chiang Mai
the river at sunset
transforms a blistered heat
into the stippled gold of temple lamps

After the grey scuttle of urban hours
there is a yellowed drizzle
of twilight in any city
when a chill haze of evaporation
hangs gleaming and electric

I see the mottled leaf of autumn
how gold seeps through
its flamboyant carnage

away from the ruby panic
of fledgling mouths
or the crimsoned wounds of flowers
I seek a tint
an irreducible essence
a yellow, not oxidize like blood
in the light of day

Irreducible

What is it
that we can say is
irreducible..?
This has been
science's quest over
the centuries:
to locate the illusive
irreducible..

Atoms in ancient times
seemed irreducible
followed eventually by
electrons..protons..quarks..
You know these names..
Names of matter
tinier and tinier..
irreducible

And the end
is not in sight for
searching in matter
for that which is
tinier
tiniest
irreducible..

It appears
we await a new day..
Perhaps soon
for recognition
that our focus
need be reversed:
inside not outside
is a non-location
infinite and
irreducible...

Beneath the graffiti littered by the years
and the fatigue signed by a thousand cares
Through the scratchings of so many tears
that were summoned or caught you unawares
Under the mottles by done days quarried
and the shadows writ by a jealous sun
where disappointments linger unburied
and age is making its relentless run

My tired eyes can still trace your first face
by the thievery of time irreducible

Premium MemberWhat Am I

No human concept defines me
No human concept binds me
Only God's precept binds me,
as his unconditional Love outlines me

My form is a simple dimension,
of the God of love's comprehension
my soul is the reality of his holy mention,
the subject of human concept's contension

An infinite soul too free to be bound,
for within the love of God I'm found,
free of the poses, of chocolate and roses,
of human concept's superficial poses.

Who am I, a pie in the sky, only a lie,
or the mentioned man of God's plan,
created of Love, my soul shall take flight,
of entergetic light, Adamtine of might

Unbreakable, irreducible, inconclusive,
free of any human concept's conclusion.
Free of all mortal conceptions,
but of the Immaculate regeneration.

Turkey Soup

I open up the fridge and the light flickers.
The immistakable vaporous flatulence of leftover yesterdays slams (back) shut.
Beer cartons with warning labels and horrific mug shots, people gone missing riddle me this.
Dead soldiers they lay, loose tan cigarettes long since forgotten; shattered.

“Coffee”

Gurgling and steam
Followed by an alarm
I think I may have contracted
the clap.

Two skinny necks with sucular eye-like monstrosities parasitically play host tented atop a human form.
Body changes deformatiorically speaking through similar straws.
Left over astray reeking from purgorious infections; indictment soul.
Worldly and words are not so easily irreducible complexities; unalike.

Give thanks to this nex cup of joe.
My new bff…
Nex-Cup of-joe
'To eyes that lay atop differences'

“Cheers”

We drink our voice commanded coffee and prompt cream and sugar to taste; hung over.
Some things never change.
Kind of like when
I open up the fridge and the light flickers.

Her Magic

Here she goes, working her magic again
Always saying the right things at the right time
Making me feel truly loved and appreciated.

She is just so incredible.

She always puts me up on a pedestal, as if
I were to really deserve such an honor.
She just does this naturally and so well.

She has beauty, indellible.

She always brings a smile to my face
Even if by whispering words on a breeze
She makes me wish to be with her always

She is just so beautiful.

Her love, well she gives that generously
With each and every passing day, she treats
Me like a king and makes me know her love.

She gives so much love, irreducible.
