I'm the version of you that didn't break.
Didn't shatter into useless pieces, broken haggardly upon the floor.
I can feel you,
See you,
Hear you,
Smell you sulking in the wind.
Battered and bellowing upon the breeze.
Like plastic.
Caustic and cautious.
Remember me.
The one who can.
He whose inter-dimensional echoes threaten the lands of great things.
Participating.
Standing place upon the influenza.
Making useful moments marry the past with change.
You, on the other hand,
Will wilt.
Without the grace of floral decadence.
Simply melt without having been to begin with.
And then you'll know what it means to suffer.

a riddle in verse
What is the number of years
Israel roamed the wilderness
if we divide it by ten?
What is the number of ears
on a frog duo warbling so loudly
your head is starting to spin?
What is the number of gears
on an average-size semitruck
minus half of a dozen?
What is the number of beers
found in a guzzler’s six pack
if two of them are missin’?
Riddled number whether in Rome or right here
tells us how often we celebrate Leap Year.
The Gregorian calendar makes it quite clear.
Pope Gregory XIII made ten days disappear.

Each animal species has
its own wisdom to share;
the human species ego though,
doesn’t seem to be aware.
Each species has its social structure,
an education it gladly shares.
All nurturing and loving,
survival ways and cares.
Each raises its own children,
trains them to be aware,
of good and bad things around them
and how to cope and fare.
They learn from us humans,
we can learn from them.
Observation is the key to
sharing all wisdom.

Fortress of peace ...
dark entrance
Graduated depths,
steps icy
No more emotional eruptions
just volcanic slumber —
Something inside has died
Quiet brood ...
at what price came this cursed silent relief?
Left with only a lonely penance,
seems the calculations weren’t heartfelt
Wavy shadow movements increase
Flickering regret moments,
tears dripping ... briefly melting Arctic attitudes
Aurora nightfall gives illuminated rest,
as smouldering rage slowly cease
Wind whispers listen at a frosty distance,
creating such tranquil space
Gathering calm
beckons a cavern catacomb soul to go
where another rappel elevated heart went
Open mountain air ... no secret crevices
for the solitude to hide
Inter the cold,
and let the cooling revive
Let the northern exposure erase
all of the igneous pain
As the buried passion escape ...
feel the snow peak
kindled heat,
and watch the bonding of the flames
borealis rise

INTER - NATION PRONUNCIATION
My transatlantic friend’s adored
We reach across the ocean
Communications although flawed
Won’t lessen my devotion
She looks pure and sweet indeed
With fair visage clear although her
Voice as if she’s just smoked weed
With pitch half octave lower
Though we’re sharing the same lingo
And her presence makes me glad
There’s a problem here by jingo
For her words can make me sad
When my health is on the mend
And that makes me glad or gladder
This assertion she’ll extend:-
‘You’re looking so much badder’
I guess to her my accent’s shot
And sounds as if it’s such that
I will say ‘the weather’s hot - what what!’
And not rhyme it with ‘hat’
But we’ll muddle through so that
We resolve all our confusions
Just distinguish ‘bet’ from ‘bat’
Avert risking grave contusions
.................
If we temperate our scoff or is it scoff
We need never call the whole thing off

I would love to be your companion
In times when you feel alone
I would love to be your comfort
When life takes a sad turn
I would love to carry you
When you feet get a little too heavy
I would love to be your smile
When your mouth turn into a frown
I would love to be your oasis
When drought comes knocking on your door
I would love to be all those things and more
But I can’t…
I want you to find your niche
I want you to find your fortitude
Trust yourself
Do not become too needy
One day I might disappoint you
You might walk around discontented
While I am oblivious to your feelings
Be reliant on God;
He is the only one that knows all your fears
He knows your deepest desires
Ultimately he has your best at heart
Trust Him more
Than you ever did me

alone amongst a crowded room,
my eyes do lock, what is that tune?
and all is gone, my sweet fortune,
my loving Empress of the moon,
her smile is just for me,
a phase of insanity,
get moving feet, and soon!

The Mind power will over take anything nature throws at it. The brain can change how tall you are, how happy you are, and how your life will be until it stops working. There are things out there that are designed to fool you.The enemy will never attack from the front. You will get hit on your left and right flanks. Maybe from behind depending on who you are with. That is the way of life. Hang with the best and never be touched, Be with the average and wish not to be touched. Be with the lowest and you will have adapted to being touched and can only function whne touched. You need it to eat, sleep, and think. Where do you want to be?

AGAIN I HEARED THE TREMBLING NOTES
MORE OVER THE PATIENT GLIMPSES THAN THAT OF A CELESTIAL BLISS
VISIONS THOUGHTS AND EVEN DREAMS MERGED EVENTUALLY
SOMEONE TOLD ME IT WAS A FUNERAL PROCESSION
I REGAINED STRENGTH FOLLOWED IT LIKE AN UNFORTUNATE TRAVELLER
WATCHING THE ROWS LISTENING THE MURMURS I SEARCHED
FOR AN ELEGIAC METRE
I EXPECTED AN UNNATURAL TWIST FROM BEGINNING TO END
SHE USED TO TELL ME SHE WELCOMED DEATH WITH AN AVENGEFUL THIRST
SITTING CLOSELY WITH HER MEASURING THE IMPULSES FROM HER HEART
I COULD HEAR "THE INTER RELATED THOUGHTS" THAT SHE ALWAYS CHERISHED

Of Inter-Racial Marriage
By Elton Camp
Few topics from writing should be exempt
This one, perhaps, very few would attempt
To write on such a topic, some might scare
But I am old enough that I really don’t care
In this State years ago, you couldn’t choose
A marriage license authorities would refuse
A wedding of black and white you never saw
Because it was a violation of established law
Then awareness of civil rights came around
And the courts rightly struck such laws down
But bigoted social pressure was still in place
And it held such marriages to be a disgrace
“A white girl who’d marry a black is a whore.”
You heard stupid stuff like that and even more
Black father said, “Take a white for your wife
And that will surely bring an end to my life.”
It’s true that marriage is complicated at best
And racial differences will add to all the rest
It seems that prejudiced feelings now do fade
And to wed whom you want fewer are afraid
If some member of the KKK comes around
And sees this poem, for sure he will frown
Yet, a bigger concern does him now annoy:
“I certainly do hope my girl marries a boy.”

The world is a paradox and
No one can tell
Which is heaven or which is hell
And only the ones left weeping
Will ever fortell
Its not till your booted from the door
That you learn
What it was for

~~Ice Cream Delight!~~
International Ice Cream MonthJULY 15th
Benjamin Franklin was the very one.
In the year of 1771.
While in France dessert did come.
What is this wonderful delight!?
"Ice cream dear sir,
I hope you like."
With quill and ink
And much insight.
He acquired the recipe that night.
And sent it back across the sea.
To share Ice Cream.
With you and me................

"What are these people
doing in my living
room?"
A querulous, trembling,
serious query
furrowed anxious brows
fear floods
his toes –
"What are they doing
here?"
The people who weren’t there just
watched him,
arms crossed
motionless
silent
They just stood there
and watched him
Across the room,
across wide, saddened, tear-drenched miles,
A sister
calls 911
from another state
of mind than his
He’s afraid of them –
She’s afraid for him –
Helpless
