As old age upon us descends,
we view the past through rosy lens.
It seems to us that bygone days
were far better in many ways.
The memories of better times
help us cope when life serves up limes.
They give us hope that better days
will soon return, like Dawn’s bright rays.
But dreaming of the good old days
can cause us to live in a daze
and rob us of the good in life
that abounds amidst its strifes.
The good old days had their fair share
of heartache, trouble, strife, and care.
The present times, in many ways,
are better than the good old days.
Treasure the good from bygone days
Let them inform your present ways
So, you can reap the very best,
As you progress in your life quest.
up up
you climb
down down
you fall
rise up
aim high
move on
dare more
you play
your part
dream big
gear up
kickstart
press on
you run
speed up
reach goal
stand tall
shine bright
be glad
hope lives
life thrives
joy flows
heart soars
A LIFE AND DEATH PERSPECTIVE
Living and dying,
Should not be deemed as surreal;
They are both so real:-
The crucifixion was real;
Likewise, was the ascension:-
Living and dying;
Physical realities,
Canvassing the soul:-
The soul sowing the spirit:
Is not Christ still here with us?
Never fret dying,
And being retired from life;
Spiritual pension waits:-
With washed feet of love’s labors,
Live and die in God’s glory:-
His light, falls gently
Erasing the melancholy
The summer’s grief
Restless praises, stirred
By the music of a grace
Beyond the heavens,
Where love can amaze….
Sweet notes of praise,
On lips of leaf and life
When starlight trembles
Keeping away this strife…
Autumn’s brisk light
Falls across the night
Where melancholy
Whispers to a moon so bright,
Streams of tear like dewdrops
Rest on the soul who knows
Whatever comes in this life
God above will exalt…
Every heart who remembers
He is One who knows me best
And, with Him, life is forever blessed!
Through life we learn about hurt and goodness
We learn about pain and healing
We learn about love and betrayal
Year after year, lessons take place in our minds
All that's required is the awareness to see them
Just when you may think nothing can get better,
know that change is always sweetly evolving
Let yourself be insightful, intuitive, use your talents
Everyone has them and can learn new ones too
It is a choice and our choices navigate our lives
Be the best you can be; because you are here for a reason!

The bird soared high above me
Showing off, it is so free
Open skies and puffy white clouds
Away from all the busy crowds
I watched, I pondered, many things
All that evolves, all that life brings
I am grateful for all of the good,
even with all the bad; I wish I could...
change in this wild, chaotic world
All the trauma I witnessed that whirled
But, there is always something better
It takes focus, persistence and belief
Trust me, there are ways to find relief
It is hard to believe in a turbulent time
- I can only say it in this rhyme -

In her hair, she placed a rose,
so like her own curling petals;
richly red, her eyes deep blue
A sweet lilt musical as heaven.
In her heart from birth she sensed
love as wide and deep, all seas!
And through her life she sought
her God, only for him to please….
She danced over the rough stages
of life, her leaps resounding rhythms.
She sang a sacred healing Light --
though born late, in a dark eve her
unrelenting Irish never gave way
to night.
What was the price I paid for life?
None; it was given me.
The cost of spite and strife
Was great, but I in turn learned humility.
With age came wisdom and dignity,
The scepter of compassion,
The scales of honesty,
Where we need
Consider the frailty
Of those tender hearts
Fallen before me,
For there is always a price to pay
For living as what we say,
Be it by fault
Or be it by may.
“Man’s word is god in man”,
I once read an old King say.
A HAIKU FOR YOU
Like garden flowers,
Be in glorious blossoms;
Scenting life with love:-
GARDENING SELF
Fertilize your mind…
Dig away self-worthlessness…
Nature your self-growth…
OF FAITHFUL FORTIFIED FEET
In the chill
of the night,
pining, piercing pain,
took its toll on the spirit
of my weary pedals:
swollen, aged feet,
seeking Hannibal-like
courage to meet
new sunrise challenges
tomorrow will bring
to a primed soul
still sojourning
struggle:-
Pray tell,
it’ll be God’s will,
that these
worn soles,
will stand
my worn soul,
perpendicular
to the worn
soil of life:
keeping me
in elephant-walking calmness,
in another blessed day, sacredly
still sojourning the struggles of life—
struggles, God streams us overcoming:-
I doubt that death
will silence me – really,
I do! Too aware of my
sleep walking and
forgotten dreams, tacit
residuals of restless nights --
I sense that I have traveled
both day and by night
from light into dark, when
my body prone then did my
spirit embark --
life requires no full memory
record, vivid enough if
times, as many of mine, illusive
yet stark --
I've been covered by the blanket of life
Circumstances have been entry level
This world been engaging intimate lore and strife
Keep telling myself and others gonna get better
I'm leaving all the cares and woes
to my Almighty Father in HEAVEN
woe is me
this my prayer just for a blanket covering
still and again
Always AMEN

Alliterating Awareness
Sowing senseless seeds,
Reaps rotting repulsive rage:
Ripping reasonings:-
Liberating love,
Healing hot hell’s heating hate:
Plowed peace perfected
Living lovely life,
God’s graceful guidance given:
Fruitful faith flowing:-
IN THE PILLARING OF LIFE
Be a pillar
Of peace and love;
Supporting justice
And equity:
Foundations
Of democracy;
And it’s roofing
From above:-
