For A Reason

Through life we learn about hurt and goodness
We learn about pain and healing
We learn about love and betrayal
Year after year, lessons take place in our minds
All that's required is the awareness to see them
Just when you may think nothing can get better,
know that change is always sweetly evolving
Let yourself be insightful, intuitive, use your talents
Everyone has them and can learn new ones too
It is a choice and our choices navigate our lives
Be the best you can be; because you are here for a reason!

I had a mentor who suffered through five horrific strokes, leaving him fully paralyzed and completely helpless. Yet he managed to show up to the job every day -- with lots of help, of course. He always said that the reason he still existed was to show others that they had no business ditching work.
