Staff Spotlight:The WanderPoet
Position: Ephemeral Verse Consultant
Clock-in Time: Unknown
Clock-out Time: Immediately After You Notice Him
You won’t see him arrive.
You might catch a glimpse--
a flicker of velvet,
a whisper that sounds like unfinished poetry.
He drifts between aisles,
scribbling stanzas on the backs of receipts,
leaving notes folded in teacups,
and misquoting love spells near the lip balm display.
He never applied for the job.
He just appears
right before a storm,
drops a single verse,
and vanishes before the ink dries.
We tried giving him a name tag once.
It wrote itself into a sonnet
and dissolved in moonlight.
Check back often. New employees arrive whenever the veil thins… or HR sneezes.

He left his life one morning,
while she was sound asleep
he left hr without warning cos there
are secrets you have to keep
he didn’t wait to see the tears form
in her beautiful eyes
and as he passed by the mirror
began to realise
he’s never going home
she wrote him a text message
listened to his answer phone
her life was lying in wreckage cos she
was going to be alone
as she passed by the mirror
thoughts running through her head
All the things she wanted to tell
Him all the things never said
He’s never coming home.
As she looked into the mirror
thoughts running through her head
All the things she wanted to tell
Him all the things never said
He’s never coming home.
If you find someone that you love
And with his life you’ll spend
You will know it’s enough
To have a lover and a friend
As she looked into the mirror
Her veins became ice cold
And she felt the faintest shimmer
As his fingers fold
They both are going home.

He’s ace performer, cream of cream,
But wait, do we have to tell him?
At best, give him some bread,
Butter may get to head,
Soon, we may have to kill his dream.

Initiative, nor ambition upfront,
Hire him, he’ll be good as my assistant,
I just want a workhorse,
Not one for the racecourse,
A pony’s oft good if not adamant.

There’s one thing of which I feel sure:
The goodness of no peer pressure.
That, year after long years,
I find for me no peers,
The boss said, peering in mirror.

#She's a mother, your mother, time and space might denied her almost all her wishes and dreams bt she forged wth all she have for yours to materialize. She might be nt educated, speak nor understand english bt she pushed u to a level better than hers.
She might not afford decent clothes, though she's working bt u luk better than ur neighbours, she denies hrself better, for u to be lyk others. She mind nt wearing masantase nor having pap n morogo for lunch all her lyf, as long as u neva go to bed on an empty stomach n u neva walk barefooted, for she's a mother, your mother
she might be nt all sophisticated n clever bt she knws n meets hr role s a mother, she may not say much bt wat she does for u, is way beyond sophistication n clever, thts her love for u n hw she values u nt wat ths earth has to offer
she knows hr responsibility, she knows u way more than any being, she's a mother, your mother, irrigardless of hr looks, her belongings, her rank, none of these is n wl neva be above the fact tht she's a mother, your mother

she adores him
that's why I'm here
her equity firm executive parents
don't
the retired judge marrying them
dear friend of our family
leaves out "if anyone objects"
just to see how she looks at him
...worth the 1500 mile drive
...worth pausing my journey
...worth wearing a suite
priceless really to see
my punk rock nephew
(Red Tank--look 'em up)
and the HR director of
one of those Manhattan banks
putting a ring on it
sigh..
on Monday
they'll be back in Brooklyn
2500 miles from others' expectations
going to his gigs and being happy
makes me believe in love
to see that look
wow
you never know
it could happen again
and if it does
I'll know the look
I'm looking for
but really just happy
to be happy for them
those two
beaming through tears in each other's eyes
should be on everyone's wedding cake
yeah.. that look
that's why I'm here

How about a One Pot Kitchen
Minimalist to the Max
First sort out Food
Millet - 5 grains
And a Clay pot
Rotate millets
Every 2 days
Soak and boil
Soak for 8 hrs.
In 5 times water
Leave it overnight
Thereafter COOK it !
first thing in the morning
Slow cook an hour on flame
Toss some greens and veggies
The porridge gets ready as base
With warm soup as the first course
add some crackling spice in Niger oil
Now we need just 1 more vessel ..that ..is ...all
I use a cast Iron ‘ kadahi’ from here on
Flame it hot ..cast iron pot...pour Ghee
Add some chopped onions spices et al.
The cooked millet porridge is tossed in
And voila you can make any no.of dish
And yes. NO compulsory need for Salt.
Now the real fun is ‘time management’
In a 24 hour cycle- Clay Pot is utilized
8 hrs soak 16 hrs to store the cooked
Lunch at 11 dinner by7 that’s 8+16 hr
(A 16 hr gap is suggested in between
2 big meals with light eat in evening)
Yes. Entire day the food stays fresh
+ Slight fermenting is encouraged
some add curd or coconut water
Sprouts ginger garlic turmeric
Boiled eggs potatoes sage
Vinegar Garnish
.
Millets in Clay pot

His performance so restrained
As he stood there on stage
With a quiet dignity that wasn’t
Just An effect of advancing age.
An economy in his movement
That wasn’t always his way
Gone the boundless energy of
His younger performing days
But the Big Yin is fighting
dread Parkinson’s Disease
It takes obvious effort to do now
What he used to do with ease.
Yet he stands there with courage
And he stands there with pride
And he tells the world
Hr has nothing to left to hide.
Actor Playright, Poet, Artist
All well as his comedic skill
This multi talented man
Driven on by force of will
To leave a legacy of laughter
Of sheer manic joy
There for the world
That cannot be destroyed.
He will stand in my memory
As he so effortlessly tried
And never ever failed to
Make me laught until I cried
No longer able to perform
Art now brings him release
And hopefully as well
A calm and inner peace.
Daily being consumed
He continues to fight on
This world a poorer place
When finally he is gone.

Just as everyone before her,
she walked through this life alone,
leaving footprints we can follow
as we struggle on our own.
She, woman of many talents
rationed what she let us see.
Wit and wisdom she exuded
in her unique poetry.
There are others who have judged her
as she played another role.
But perhaps we knew her better,
a true poet bares hr soul.

We're here to discuss the proposed
Move to allow one game of hide & seek
On the premises once every workday
To boost staff morale
Some proven strategies we have tried
Have failed including a meeting-free day
Sunflowers in the workplace
Funny employee awards
The proposed bring a pet into work
Idea was rejected by security personnel
Office karaoke was a catastrophe
Jigsaw puzzles were scoffed at
Morale is below par and continues to be low
After a disagreement with HR in regard to
What and what is not legible for reimbursement
When travelling on business
This needs to be hammered into the staff -
Purchases of cigarettes and toilet paper
Do not meet the requirements and neither do
Multiple muffin purchases
From Monday we will play a game of hide & seek
In the sales department office
From eleven to eleven-twenty
Report back findings three weeks from now

They called themselves
the "Moody Glues"
like jets in flight
higher than kites
huffing to no note deadbeat drummers
forever marching covertly across handless
fields of teenage want.
Tubing--a way countering neigh-boring hoods
of muddle class clones, quickly learning the
brown bag cost
Fuming to convey their High brain frost.
Dig it daddyo, cool beans, the 50's "Glues Clues"
60's
sharing in an ever raging generational divide of
pandemic Paradies Lost.

They call out, one by one
This one’s got it, then the other
You just keep going and hope the day soon comes
When the whispering of names is done
We try to social distance, a mask we’re given but no cape
Even all the work places are measured out with tape
Work says all be careful where you go and keep safe in your mind
But who can say where the others go when they’re out on their own time
You don’t step foot in anyplace except to get essentials
Then you find who’s positive is the guy in the next cubicle
You tell the others keep your distance and breathe the other way
But then you see them walking the halls without their mask in place
HR sends out messages galore to remind all to be sure
To cover up, be safe, vigilance is very important to everyone and more
You use your emails, messenger and phone as much as you are able
But there’s always those who insist they must walk up to your table
And no matter how careful you are it may not even matter
Cause if your neighbor doesn’t give a hoot then all we’re told is chatter
