Premium MemberWalk the Walk

They crowd around their leader
unqualified, unfit
Vying for some action
all chomping at the bit

They’ve given-up democracy
their morals are all gone
Instead they honor Donald Trump
a two-bit, traitor con

They don’t want an America
with those who aren’t White
They’d rather burn it to the ground
and threaten that they might

They’re homophobic bigots
and condemn those who are trans
Scared of life, scared of love
they punish them with bans

Like preachers, they quote scripture
hang crosses from their chains
But then deport small children
far away, alone, on planes

The MAGA base is poisoned
hating all that’s not the same
Then praise an unfit moron
who’s a fool and has no shame

We won’t give-up our freedom
our vote, or right to talk
Together, we will march as one
resist, and walk the walk

Premium MemberYou Twins Have Never Looked Better

You twins have never looked better, said with contention.
Fred and Ted, dressed in tutus, trying for attention.
Their mother was the only one slightly a teensy bit amused.
Their homophobic father exploded, setting off his brain fuse.

We Can Be A Light
Sal was sixteen when he committed suicide.
A loving son and brother.
You could count on Sal when you needed to talk and know it was confidential.
Sal was always there with a smile and a vote of confidence in any endeavor you might pursue.
Sal's sense of humor and love for life was contagious and treasured by his family.
Then something happened...
He drowned wearing a cloak of self-loathing.
Sal's dignity and self-worth suffered the slurs of homophobic zealots.
"Guilty of sin. A sin against God and nature.”, they hollered.
Societal prejudice and loathing usurped the love of Sal's family.
Too many bodies are washed ashore from the violent seas of hate.
It doesn't have to be.
The enlightened hearts and minds of each generation must hold sacred the need to establish and maintain Lighthouses of Love and Respect.
So that...
When a lonely, frightened Child of God sees the beam of light he or she will know, that they are not alone and that Compassion and Empathy will be waiting for them on the shore.

Its Him Or No One At All

I admit I look at pretty girls
Most I don’t think about after that
In that way I’m a straight man
But not a cis one
I could be a lesbian, I guess
But only in a way that would be frown upon
Because I do like guys
Guy, in specific
And it’s barely like anymore
Love
I love this man
If I cannot be his I will be a straight guy
I’ll fish
Listen to heavily metal music
I will be homophobic if I must
I’ll drink the gay away
I’ll go home with girls I don’t know
I’ll go bald young
I’ll have a few kids
By then I guess I’d be a raging alcoholic because no amount of alcohol will ever make me as straight as I can pretend to be
I know I’d disappoint myself by then, and most definitely not be a man he’d be able to love
This poem would be the most I have to give him
A poem from years ago
From the one that wouldn’t give up for him
The one that is still listening to the music and sending text messages
The friend he can talk to

Premium MemberA-Wondering Why

I've sat up nights
    a-wondering why
I no longer hear the expression
    'Here's mud in your eye'

It's not racist, sexist, or homophobic
    not anti-semitic or islamophobic
Perhaps this is it: It's just so awfully deplorable
It makes Hillary Clinton seem sweet and adorable

Artificial Intelligence

Decision making is an art
To make the right choice at the start
But now the robots have become the one
To find the truth begun and won

ChatGPT will write a student’s essay
Or a rousing speech to be your way
Just give it the facts to start
And in no time it’ll sound straight from the heart

They tried to make an online friend
TayTweet to converse and for relationships to defend
But they found the algorithm went bad
Being a racist sexist and homophobic cad

Some companies use AI to read CVs for culling
But one company found its decisions not inviting
Being skewed to Jared who played High School lacrosse
Such decisions made were at a loss

When gathering data it will reflect what society thinks
With research being found that past data has a wink
To what they are calling the pale male syndrome
Being for white males mainly shown

So we are slowly reaching a place
When computer says no is in the race
And Artificial Intelligence is part
Of the decision making art.

the orchestra played full volume in the theatre of her mind

thoughts and emotions vied for undisturbed attention but

her misplaced applause failed to settle restless blind screens

decoupages tapestries and fabrications of her imagination

whole movies and symphonies arranged on fast auto replay

spooled forward and backward until vision blurred into one

epic film tear of overload exhaustion and impenetrable void

hungry children
		         uncivil wars
                                            deforestation
					                         xenophobia
						                                   fission bombs

subjugation oppression marginalization genocides homophobic attacks

power money greed opulence decadence and seeming banality of evil

for the charade that life was she needed to close plenty of curtains

unveil at the same time what had been hidden behind a solid façade

when the cacophony climaxed in crescendo staccato and discord

she knew that her voice of conscience would lead her the way

Girly Freak Show

I need a VCR to expain some things
like
Why they called me an bundle of sticks
or told me to shut the front door in my face.

My first Ladies' fest of course
taught me to follow mom's rose petals
to the soup kitchen
age 11 and we can find my mother together there

Before that it was
"He-She" or "It"
when they called me
any names at all

Purple hair after living overseas
Behind my long hair are tears
I already left Korea a young girl
I didn't see Vietnam yet

Coming home I learn I hate school
and I am alone in my home town
The best frenemies, bullies aren't
any older than me yet

'Go get the strongest fighter
Fiercest I don't know or care!'

Before that
a room beside the class
We hide so close to
The homophobic driver

A survivor of what next
I didn't ever expect

A White room with a tv
above a blank table top
Driver is the game they task
in middle school

if is it real
what do you intend to do?
they ask
attacking us
what's this about?
the dangers of us, or them?

That's Bully for you dear.

Driver 13

I need a vcr
then you will understand
why they called me a fa got
got it not it
or told me to shut the
fck up suck it up

Before that it was
''He 'she 'It''
they called me
'purple hair'
after living overseas
behind me
long hair already
left Korea
didn't see Vietnam yet
wait until we get back to the 'states
Vietnam has estates too you know
burning rubber groves and napalm
on aging palms

Let's go back to
The best frenemies, too
bullies aren't any older
than me yet
go get the strongest fighter
fiercest I dont know or care

before that
a room beside me
we hide so close to
a homophobic driver
video games in
a detention hall
a surviver of what
they know next
I didn't ever want to know

A small white room with a tv
above a blank table top
Driver is the game the kids/ ask
if is it real as my mind thinks
about the adults on fire
in the museum built just for me
an American child talking to another

what do you mean?
they asked me
when it was not
the question of the day
'attacking us'! What's this about
The dangers of us, or them?
I'm no longer in Vietnam, today
2020 is another war another way

Premium MemberHate Is Born of Fear

Hate is born of fear
From the bowels of the barrel of the beast
of a closed person

Closed heart
closed fist
closed mind

Hate poisons the environment
Worse, hate finds hate
The perpetrators look carefully
For those like-minded

Others who carry rage and sorrow and anger
and want to kill someone,
thinking it will make them feel better

Let’s get that one.
He looks different than us.
He is kind of effeminate. Not a fighter.

No camo, no guns, no anger, no rage.
Let’s go as a pack, like a slashing crashing murdering
insane, crazy, fanatical out-of-our-mind mob

That should make us feel better
Picking on beauty, slashing it and annihilating it.
We congratulate ourselves with buckets of beer
Because we are the chosen

Maybe and
The trickster devil may have a special room for you
Tread softly you homophobic haters,
You may not yet know what real fear is….

I would erase bullies

I would erase misunderstandings

Premium MemberOn Doing Nothing

"Do nothing
and everything is done."
     LaoTse

Do no spiritual thing
and every natural climate is finished.

Become no merely natural being
and every spiritual becoming
has already been merrily fulfilled.

Play no win/win nature
and every lose/lose spirit is working out
resolution
integrity
confluence
synergy.

Play only win/win nature
and all lose/lose spirits
zealous
competing
totalitarian
dualistic
bigoted
supremacist
patriarchal
violent
violating
racist
sexist
ageist
xenophobic
homophobic
narcissistic
egocentric
anthro-testosteroned
become way too much ultra nonviolet work
for even the most left-hemisphere dominant
StraightWhiteWesternMale
to become deductively distracted
from inductively healthy
playful
good humored
full moon light for
multiculturing extended family life.

Do no win/lose capitalistic work
and every win/win playful communion is done.

Or, like he said,
Do No future-planning Thing
and Every past Thing is Done.

There remains
only integrity
of this Moment's
health-wealthiest play potential.

Premium MemberFake News

Who are the people behind the glass?
Men and women talking smack;
Running down our way of life;
Creating dissent and causing strife;
They fill the airways with false facts;
Twisting news and spinning notions;
Seeking to find a magic potion;
To undue the results of an election;
Blinded by hate and a leftist agenda;
They’ve fulfilled their own accusations;
Unstable liars, hate filled bigots, detached from reality,
Racist, homophobic, misogynistic, and abusive;
Abuse of power is on every hour;
Un named sources, phony documents, bogus timelines;
The longing in their eyes seen early until late;
fantasizing for their new Watergate.
