Tis sad but true that...

a mockingbird makes fun of another bird who sings more beautifully

a thorn pricks until it draws blood, but it never injures the rose

a moth thinks it has beautiful wings, until a butterfly emerges

a crow takes pleasure in taunting others until

I wonder if you think of me
The way I think of you
I wonder if you miss me
The way that you used to 
I wonder if you still, you know

When once I was your troubadour 
And you were my bluebird

Alright, someone erred
Stole a moment of glory
Occupied centre stage

To which most took umbrage 

This is a time for reflection
Do we hesitate to forgive
Instead condemning the soul

Is not love and light our goal

Let us mindfully gentle touch

As we leap forward to embrace

No Such Thing As a Stupid Question: Hmmm

[Today, for reasons I neglected to ask, Annie asked
Me, ‘Who used to say “Meeces”?’
I responded, ‘You mean “I hate those meeces to pieces”?’
Well I couldn’t remember the ‘meeces’ names (Pixie and
Dixie) so I googled the phrase. What follows is absolutely, 
100%, no exaggeration, no tweaking for effect, Gods honest

Literal Poetry Or Metaphoric Hmmm

Literal poetry is my go to gal
Metaphorical poetry is impossible for me.

Metaphors do not come naturally
They are not only difficult 
to understand but impossible
to write.

Literal poetry is concrete to me,
Metaphors are abstract.

The only abstracts I want
are in my artwork,
not in my poetry.

For they are not easy.
They are difficult
And I am all about easy.

Hmmm “finger food!”

I can only guess at what that means

Surely, we don't actually eat human fingers

If that's the case, it would be cause enough

For me to become a vegetarian

Then I could devour a whole “head” of lettuce

Or a bunch of celery “hearts”

How about an “ear” of corn

Or a “hand” full of grape tomatoes
