Hard Drink Poems | Examples

Hands Off the Wheel

I sipped on a hard drink
It made my senses sink
I was trying to drown my troubles
But with every sip I found new levels

I called out for the tab
To keep the count, not to bolt the pub
But I saw my own life on the bill
I saw my heirs scripted on my will

I saw death crouching for the car key
A speed demon up for the thrill
When I saw life smiling at me in a taxi
I decided keep my hands off the wheel

Mr Wino

I need a glass of hard drink to brush the teeth,
A jug of wine to complement a wheat bread,
An alcohol to bath all day long,.....
I'm a vagrant...in my mansion street,
No wife to cook for me,sons and daughters to make me a father cared,
Wardrobe full of dresses, but one has become as tempered silicon to my wrong,
Having an agreement with the bathhouse,"will be here when I'm hungry for its need",
I know I walk straight in focus,
but the picturing of the society throw wars,
I walk on snow with barefoot,
A skeleton in the cupboard,
Family can't handle if mocked,
Crowned best in breaking bonds of secrets,
Situations undercover......I just can't hold unto,
World prospective figure,...gone worst,
Can be a spell, influence or addiction,..will drink till I'm filled,
Freaky wild tongue, counterparts waits for my presence at the wine bar,
Arrayed in the cloth of a whale,
Killing me slow pal,
An elephant impaled,
Advice ain't gonna metamorphose me,....really need to be intervened for,
Let there be a transformation by his mind renewal,
That's what the Lord assure,
Will destroy the container for a mourn,
Change my name,...I'm a new born!

Cupcake Conundrum

Clanging and bashing
The kitchen's in use
Daughters craving treats
Allowed on the loose.

Flour, sugar, butter
All over the floor
Dusting the ceiling
Spread thru the drawers.

Seeking seclusion
Mum heads to the mall
Dad's not so enthused
He’s taken the fall!

Vanilla smells waft
Blitzed cake mix atoll
Now one eggs rotten
Phew! Missed the whole bowl.

Mixing all finished
Into the oven
Fast rising ignited
By the witch coven.

Ginormous cupcakes
Rest plump on the bench
Waiting so silent
For icing frost drench.

Now bizarre colours
Created in leagues
Designs are invented
Intending intrigue.

Red nose drawn upon
Superfluous clowns
Green, orange, purple
Even some browns.

Goblins and gremlins
Haggard old fairies
Wombles and warlocks
Yellow canaries.

Dad for his patience
Gets the first taste
His fluttering eyes
Say he wasn’t quite braced!

Smiling so sweetly
He says they taste nice.
When truly he wants
Some hard drink on ice!

Cupcakes were vital
Baking so easy
Except for the clean
Now the kids feel quite queasy.

My Life

A span of emptiness and nothing else
                  Boundless like the sky
Not far in the past and for considerable time
Life was like a garden, roses and eglantine

This desert has not even a mirage.
I am like a grain grinded between two parts
Of stones of sky and earth
         High like a mountain, insurmountable

Sucked me even of power to think
Prohibited for me like a hard drink
The memories of the past may bring solace
My old album, an escape from life, frozen in time.
                                ---

Sequestration of the Soul

The dew has been banished from the grass
And the pups taken from the teet.

A drunk is lacking hard drink.

Like a television without a picture tube
Longing stares itself in the mirror, feeling, but
Denying its very existence while arrogance

Wants to scream from within.

Dancing With Rain

i love writing about anything. it just so happens to be
that drinkin that ole No.7 whisky is nothing new to me
i love a good hard drink
..it makes me think
not of the world but of what cd to play
am i into rockin hard or should i kick it the country way
i love all types of music - reggaeton best of all
if you can crank up the bass i am happier than "jane
in my own world...gettin me out...you would have to be insane
drinkin beverages of my desire's choice
is like speaking without words...a whisper-like voice
let my eyes do the talking for me
makes me wonder
last night i danced in the thunder
would have been great if a bottle i would have had
ah.. but i am a nature girl
the best times are in the rain wild..
i have no reason to be sad
i love dancing in the rain
staring at the sky
lightning decorates the night
yeah true a shot of liquor would have played out just right
maybe next time it rains and wind howls its melody
i will have a shot of Jack, Cuervo, Patron...maybe 3
lol.

Arabian Blues

Salaam alaikum!!! Salaam alaikum!!!
what finds me here so far from home,
is it the promise of instant wealth,
is it my need, or is it my greed?

where the old sun never sets,
where the damn heat never ceases,
where the sandstorm is the breeze,
where the dust is your best friend.

there is no place like Arabia,
you can't mistake it for Siberia;
you either love it or you hate it,
out here, my friend, you'll get tested.

where you speak in broken English
before you get yourself across;
where no hard drink and no women
are your commandments everyday.

now if you're hot-blooded like me,
there's not much choice, you see.
make the best of your situation,
either survive or go away.

so if you are in hot Arabia,
just take stock of what you have.
if you've got no girl by your side,
just keep busy and you'll be fine.
