He primps that dome like it’s his crown,
A shiny orb, the talk of town.
Shaves that bowling ball twice a day,
No rogue hairs dare to stay.
Refined olive oil, scentless, slick—
His scalp’s own secret, glossy trick.
Then Axe spray rains, a scented storm,
Because the ladies find that charm.
Post-shower, towel wraps so neat,
Humidity’s spa for his heat.
Pores open wide, like welcome mats,
While he admires himself in flats.
Mirrors lurk in every nook,
Catching every shiny look.
Not married yet? “I’m picky,” he grins,
Waiting for love to roll right in.
On his dresser, a brush sits proud—
No bristles live, it’s just a shroud.
A hairbrush purely for show,
To tease the girls who don’t quite know.
No follicles, but full of flair,
Hair-care metaphors everywhere.
A follicle-free knight of sheen,
The baldest king you’ve ever seen.
Hair Care
The hair care bottles in
the shower stall can do
breathtaking manoeuvrers, for example,
rolls and loops.
We had heard about Emeraldite of course; who had not?
She lived in the lane with the Oak tree that had a lovely knot.
She is the most beautiful witch you will ever see, no rot!
This was told to me by every person whose opinion I never sought.
I finally crawled into the bushes and took my magnifiers out.
She was a beauty with her green eyes, there was no doubt.
But I had seen other beautiful witches, so I kept quiet.
Her hair was unnaturally ebony, did she dye it?
Come out! She coaxed me. Come over and be my friend.
My hiding had not been good, it was about to end.
I crept over to say “hello” and we shared some terrific spells.
Emeraldite is a wonderful comrade, who makes marvelous jells.
She has one for skin, and two or three for a sore knee too.
She sold me cosmetics, and hair care products that turned mine blue.
You have to go see her! I told my cousin Liberty Lou.
I wanted her to be taken advantage of too.
My lifelong Love took off her mask
And much to my surprise
I didn't see what I expected
'Neath her pandemic disguise
Young and fair she was last March
Auburn tresses rich and thick
But when she unmasked this past week
Her hair was limp, her features sick
Concealing my disappointment
I summoned up my sensitivity
My dear, I said, Are you feeling well
In my voice, no hint of negativity
Yes, my darling, she nearly shouted
I'm happy as happy can be, for
From my biggest bugaboos in life --
Hair care and make-up ---
My mask has set me free!
A week ago when snow fell for hours,
heavy snowflakes resembled butterflies
descending on scented flowers,
and they fell on that stranger's smooth face
without bothering of wiping them off;
was she chased by an obsessed dwarf?
I got a step closer to say, " Hello, beautiful! "
But she hopped into a green cab dropping her phone;
how often does a guy meet a girl that congenial,
a girl who would smile...if she were in love with that one?
I ran across York Avenue* to pick up that phone,
it resembled a shattered crystal;
someone screamed, "She is a model! "
Had I been that lucky...I would have taken her on a cruise trip;
and with no name to search for, whom would I have asked for help?
I noted on the frosty window of Hair Care Unisex Salon an ad about Agony Aunt,
" A therapist who fixes broken hearts by restoring their hope. "
But searching for people's names who weren't posted on Facebook
would have been an impossible task, and staring me in the eye as a stranded cat,
she said, " Excitement can cause love blindness,
any naive guy can mistake it for tenderness! "

A bear
A bear has hair
A bear without hair is bare
A bare bear without hair won’t sit in a chair
A bare bear without hair not in a chair doesn’t care
A bare bear without hair not in a chair doesn’t care about the night air
Can you stare at a bare bear without hair not in a chair that doesn’t care about the night air?
Can you stare at a bare bear without hair not in a chair and not caring about the night air as he climbs a stair?
If you stare at a bare bear without hair not in a chair and not caring about the night air climing a stair,
you had better beware!
i sit a stare
so you're be aware
