Of my nose, Pop said, he could not save

Thru his laughter, told me to be brave

Blood hit the ground and froze

Still, it gushed like a hose

Soon after, the dead, rose from the grave

Their pennies popped when they saw the flood

So, they dived on top and dined on blood

But, once they had their fill

They used the rest for swill

And left me face down, drained, in the mud

Then they turned their attention to Pop

He kept screaming and told them to stop

But, they all kept going

One hell of a showing

They said he was good to the last drop

Premium MemberSmitten by Kitten Disinterest

never loved cat ways
their tail-flicking arrogance
their unasked-for gaze
my family longed for one —
I yielded, keeping distance

stray kitten arrived
they all fawned gushed over it
but the cat chose me
the least interested one
who shooed and shoved it away

smitten by kitten
my heart disinterested
lurched to beat retreat
we're inseparable now
the kitten has claimed my lap

Alice Through The Wormhole

The wormhole led them to a desert,
where they could see dunes ahead.
The elf looked at Alice, nodded, and smiled.
She understood what his smile meant.
A few hours later, they stood in front of the dunes
When suddenly sentinels appeared around them.
Alice looked at the elf, and he smiled at her again.
She wondered why he smiled at every encounter.
The elf whispered some words,
The sentinels merged into one another and disintegrated.
He stretched his hand toward the dunes,
and they all flattened out.
Alice's eyes widened in amazement as cacti sparkled like diamonds.
As they approached,
The cacti grew tall and large,
and water gushed out from them,
And Alice and the elf were carried to the shores of an island.
They were lifted by giant birds to a rainbow castle.
There, Alice saw the book of seven seals,
a powerful book that restored the seven lost kingdoms,
where Alice would continue her adventures.

ETERNITY IN A BLINK

Eyes locked, hearts spoke.
Love knocked, feelings woke.
I smiled, she blushed.
She mirrored, i gushed.

I was the fire but i melted .
She was the ice but "sun-hot".
Time danced slow as our minds began to plot
A story forged through the fire of desire,
Inked with hearts that synced in accord.
Strangers, familiar along the pages of prospects.

Wedding bells rang.
"here comes the bride" sang.
Flowers crafted perfumed symphonies,
as the altar witnessed intertwining of destinies.

"I do", with eyes of admiration and deep reassuring voice,
i spoke to her soul.
She opened the floodgates to her milky teeth
Eyes dilated with tears of joy, taking in this moment of bliss,
Her chocolate lips, marinated in cherries, made love and bore sweet words as she began the vows.

I couldn't hold it together, as i anticipated her seal to the covenant,

"I..."

Before she could write our story in the stars,
Our thoughts were cut short by a voice that robbed....
My soulmate, in his arms.

Premium MemberSmiles Of Childhood Days

A sudden drizzle gushed along the street,
That I wiggled out , romping and playing
In my cotton jumpshirt as summer cooled,
To allow a downpour of monsoon rain.

Swerving through puddles where debris
Gathered around little tots' feet,
Our lithe bodies slip-skidded, glided
On a roller-coaster ride of muddy suds... what fun!

Then, I picked dingy ferns coiled by reeds,
Merrily smiling past waters, unclear…
Till Mom and Dad yelled "kids , clean up...”
O youth's play of bubble-pop made us blush.

Then soft winds crooned among the trees
Where only spellbound laughter can recall
This whimsical atmosphere: A time to reel,
To cherish the frolic in heat of summer days
Which spangled my childhood sprees aloft!

Premium MemberSeeding Clouds

We did not speak of rain;
only the wish that our love
could be again.
The air was bone-dry,
with only the merest glimpse,
of wispy cloud remnants,
in the sky.

But, our thoughts, hopes and wishes
coalesced to form empty
puffy, fluffy, white cloud receptacles.
That we could seed with intent,
by prying drops, one at a time,
from memories long forgotten
gone bone dry.

We tapped our reminiscences,
of the good times we shared,
buried deep in our dry parched ground.
We sent each droplet squeezed,
aloft to gather
in the clouds above.

The clouds darkened with foreboding,
reluctance and trepidation,
as their burden grew
with expectation overdue.

At last, the clouds,
topped up to brimming full,
could hold on no longer!
They burst and gushed out with raindrops.
That toppled on our heads,
sprouting our seeds,
watered from the clouds above,
seeded with our love.

The Other World

In mystic forest, where human wisdom fades,
A world of secrets, beyond our mortal shades.
The forest whispers truths, we've yet to grasp,
As ancient trees stand guard, with mysteries to clasp.

A mahogany tree, tall and proud,
Became the stage for a supernatural cloud.
A sawman's blade, with intent to claim,
Was halted by a voice, an old woman's refrain.

The slap that followed, like a rock's descent,
Left the operator reeling, his strength spent.
Blood gushed from the tree, a mystic's tale,
A metaphysical son, with wounds that would prevail.

The tree, once wounded, healed with mystic speed,
Leaving us in awe, our footsteps to proceed.
We fled the scene, with hearts that still quake,
A lesson learned, some secrets we'd rather not partake.

My wife's housekeeping skills are lackluster.
For getting things done, I just can't trust her.
And her oven runs too hot,
and the sole besom she's got
flies only between Salem and Custer.
I caught that crass, old man on the moon
sneak a peak at my naked wife, June.
In anger, I discussed the matter
with my good friend, the mad hatter,
who said, "Ignore. He's just a buffoon."

When it came to the art of rappin',
this kid knew how to make it happen.
The scenes of a dark apocalypse
that gushed forth from his wet, stormy lips
had all souls standing around clappin'.
I'm not that smart; I'm not a wizard.
I have the brain of one, small lizard.
I'm not astute.
I don't compute.
So, mamma always says,"Thank God you're cute."

Wishing lane

“Thy stature is like to a palm tree, and thy breasts to clusters of grapes.” He said,
Filled with milk and honey but overwhelming his expectations - he feared,
Finding peace and solace in its feel of evermore candor-not for-yet made for-in plentiful, he cheered,
Until I sought no more in its unparalleled enchare.

Out the door she gushed and out his heart she made deport,
Staring across the open door, across the hallway with his heart implode,
Laying waste to the mask which clots his eyes afore.
I implore to thee, whose eyes are that of a doe,
Sing into my ears once more and ward off my fiery foes,
Dance with me once more, oh how I MISS YOU so.

Premium MemberWhen Your Tongue Turned Wild

Like a whip-sword with a blade, it looked humble and curled.
I thought it's the softest pink sapphire in the world.
In your brawl with me, for causeless cause, when you swore
Endless embers of volcanoes gushed from your core.

Your pessimism, like toxin-puffed balloons, soared high
A pain from within me throbbed into a sigh
Scorn, like fire from fighting swords, from you blazed forth
Is there, deep within you, an inferno of wrath?

Did I, in the past, shun showing you my favour?
I, now, feel ashamed to have you as my neighbour.
I thought you're precious and preserved you as a pearl.
What tempest, I don't know, turned you a pool of whirl.

Though storms taunt time and again, do Banyan trees weep?
With your thorny, rude words, I feel awake from sleep.
No one can make rules for me to live with a snake.
What use is a neighbour who gives nothing but ache?

Premium MemberAs the Rain Came

As dark clouds dashed and clashed in the sky
Thunder began to boom and rumble
Sensing an impending rain, frogs started croaking
Cows stopped cuddling and began to moo

Soon pitter- pat came down the raindrops.
landed on roof tops with a heavy thud
they broke and cracked into tiny droplets
gurgled and gushed through canals and drains.
And joined the brooks that babbled,
merging with waterfalls that whooshed.

Along with the rain, came the roaring wind
as it passed, the bells clanged
windchimes whispered, wires on poles whistled
doors slammed shut and windows creaked
grasses swished and leaves rustled.
Birds fell silent and stopped tweeting

When the pouring rain came to a sudden halt,
The rattle was over with everything falling silent.

The Distant Call

For now, his feet stumbled,
Clang! The gun fell out of his hands,
He sat with a thud beside the brick wall,
Waiting for the imminent relief,
As he looked to the stars,
The pain seemed to fade away,
The memories of the village gushed in again,
The jets' roar now seemed like a bird's chirp,
As his fallen companions moaned,
He heard the delightful giggles of his child,
The Sergeant gave his orders to the chaos,
But he heard his wife's loving call,
The noise became a distant chatter,
A babble, of cries with a sudden screech,
He closed his eyes waiting to knock,
Waiting to hear a creak,
His hands on her hand,
When he can rest and rest and rest.......

Premium MemberCrying

"Jesus Wept". Bible

There must be cries in our adult lives.
Not just tears, but weeping sounds.
I think that I can count such cries.
As an adult, those cries have been few.
Allow me to share with you just two.

One was a deep cry of joy and relief after
A heavy financial load had been lifted.
Another was a cry of deep pain and grief,
triggered by the passing of a grandchild.

Both these cries gushed forth without warning.
Such cries are vital and good for the soul.

Premium MemberA Psalm for the Grieving

My heart is heavy, my soul filled with grief.
Yesterday, my heart was filled with gladness,
today, it is suffused with sadness.

Death has snatched a dearly loved one from me,
and grief has gushed in like a raging sea.
like an enemy, it has ambushed me,
and it feels like I will never be free.

My heart aches, the pain burns, please hear my plea.
Come, Lord, Master of ocean, earth, and sky.
You who look low even as you reign on high.
God of all comfort, assuage my deep grief.

My soul will again rejoice in your name.
I will declare to the whole world Your fame.
Because in my grief, you gave sweet relief.
Bless the Lord, my soul, bless his holy name.

Premium MemberJournal

mirrors turbulence of mind
documents dull daily chores,
poured feelings on blank canvas,
friend we trust as true .

closest buddy in childhood,
confidant in teenage years,
my excitement, my pleasures,
bleak sadness unwrapped.

O my soul, from deep my heart
gushed emotions in you, scrawled
pages with love and pain, paint
days of grim despair!

years passed - journal lost glamour,
pictured my youth, failed dreams, hopes…
words, penned with passion, vanished...
dew on lotus leaves!
