Killick
Sailing across the voyage of life
Amidst witty wilful waves of trials
Often subdued with wicked wily spells of pains
Buffeted below the belt by wild woeful winds
Faith ever serves me as my killick
Never lets my boat run astray
Day and night holds me to the shore
Averts my drifting against rocks of despair
Holds me firm during tempestuous gales
Secures me during winters of distress.
When darkness of night veils my life
When hands of fate deal me massive blows
When clouds of loneliness enrol me
When the low tide subdues my spirit,
The killick, as a guardian angel,
Softly whispers in my dainty ears
To gaze at the heavens with flame of faith high
Comforts me its vigil will outlast my breath
And it will keep me company till judgment day
When my soul reaches the celestial sky.

I wonder, yes I wonder,
how many angels do we have in a lifetime?
They say,
we each have a guardian angel watching over us.
I wonder, yes I wonder,
if some angels are in training?
Do they need to earn their title,
with on the job training?
Then we have,
Our Better Angels.
The ones we can count on through thick and thin.
The ones that will always be there,
there when we need them the most.
I send a huge Thank You to you,
my better angels.

You have been gone for a while
Leaving a void of emptiness
Difficult to fill and contend with
All around me your presence looms large
Your beautiful face lulls me to sleep nightly
I see you every morning as I wake up
Your sumptuous lips whisper into my ear
Courageous words of determination
To keep hunters of destiny at bay
When trapped in the midst of danger in the day
Your angelic presence rescues me from the fray
And wherever I go you are sure to follow
Where then do I go from your presence my love?
No where my darling
For you are my guardian Angel
Always close to me and ready for battle!

an ethereal presence slid into the corners of a melancholy day
she uplifted the protagonist as she knew she could
for he was her golden boy; she had loved him since beyond time
his gloomy continence took a rather sharp turn
he felt uplifted, as if positivity had been injected into his brains
hark, who is there? he wondered
his grandmother was the first spirit he considered
she had always been his champion
why should she be anything else but his heroine post death?
he listened for her words
they came not from her voice
but from her heart directly into his heart
he knew he was not alone; she was here
his blessed grandmother, one of his favorite people
of this realm, and now of the heavenly realm
her words resounded into the recesses of his soul
no one else knew him as well
or could uplift him this quickly
he felt refreshed and invigorated.
“she would be lucky to have you,” his guardian angel whispered.
not his grandmother’s voice, but her spirit.
He ran off to ask Dorothy to be his bride.
No one in the world reminded him more of his grandmother.
With her soft brown eyes and her wonderful listening ways.

she often appears in his dreams
wearing pink carnations and other flowers
those sky blue eyes staring through him
he cannot stop looking at her pink red lips
she is prettier in death than she had ever been in life
a woman who is forever twenty-two
he stares at her alabaster skin
those eyes stare back and tear into his soul
I am sorry, he tells her, I should have never been driving drunk.
the blame has stolen his life for the past twenty years
she puts her pointer finger to her lips
Reassures him, tells him to release his guilt
You are an angel, he whispers, but I am to blame
I need to focus on this, I need to suffer
A soft hand strokes him on the shoulder
She lets him know that she is where she wants to be
She was a marvelous friend, a great co-worker
A terrific listener, and now she is his guardian angel
Release the guilt! She tells him.
This was meant to be.
He has no other choice.
Tears overtake him, he sobs until he feels exo

I Know You’re There
Sometimes at night,
I think I hear your voice,
I think you’re there,
Sometimes during the day
I think of you and pray,
You’re up there in Heaven now,
My Guardian Angel
Watching over me
I know you’re cheering for me,
From up above,
That feeling you’re there
It’s some kind of magic,
It’s your love
We miss you more than ever
Skinny, (My Dad-we always
Called you Skinny
You’d smile and laugh,
We miss you so…….

how aware of your guardian angel are you?
The woman looked fearfully at me.
you do know he is with you right now, right?
The second I said this, I knew it was the wrong thing to say.
She looked like she was going to run screaming down the street.
I am a sociology professor, and this was an experiment I lied.
“cop out!” her guardian angel said to me, in a mean way.

MY GUARDIAN ANGEL
My son in Heaven is my guardian angel
He will always be here to guide me
For my heart, he will always hold my key
He will always give me the need for peace
From day one he was always in my life
That was one thing that always inspired me and admire
I know he will lead me the right way
And with that, I know everything will be ok
My life has a lot of pain
But you being my guardian angel is what I gain
Every day our family has a lot of stress
But this is when my guardian angel is at his best
I hope you will always be here when I grow older
So I know I never have to look over my shoulder
As my guardian angel, I know you will always
Hold me close in your arms
And prevent me from any harm

you know
it's bad when your
guardian angel runs
I often wonder
how quiet is it
right before the end
that brief pause
just before
extinction
the universe takes
a double-take
in disbelief, in sadness
but I'm
drinking wine
in another time
I don't dread
the silences
just the paper seats

Boeing Max, so lax leaves wobbly screws,
Nuts and bolts lazily left nigh loose,
That, angels if at all,
Can save poor flyer’s soul,
Wonder if cooked up has Boeing’s goose!
And he that whistle blew,
Struck was with bolt from blue,
What’ll happen to rest of nuts, I muse.

Happenings |19.01.2024|
Poet’s Note: Alaska Air, whose Max 9 aircraft has already met with many accidents, recently found loose blots on many of its Boeing 737 Max 9 aircrafts following the midair blowout of a panel on its plane. Luckily, the aircraft landed safely, and its CEO said: there was ‘a guardian angel’ on the flight!
Modified in May 2024 after the whistle-blowing employee of Boeing suddenly died. He was the true guardian angel.

Guardian angel who is at my side
To hear my woes and sighs.
My prayers go to the Lord
For I have faith in him and truly love.
Strength and deliverance I ask of thee
To keep me on the straight and narrow path
Be at my side day and night to rule and guide
My life.

Can it be
without surety
no guarantee
Might it be
a miracle
not typical
seems mystical
Perhaps coincidence
or happenstance
what's the chance
Theoretically
it will always be
a Mystery!

He neither tumbled, wheel over wheel,
nor slammed into the window or door.
Seemingly, an angel, placed the child,
gently, very gently on the landing floor,
to the relief of his caretaker, who’d been
as careful as she could possibly be.
Like a storm, the rush came suddenly…
Kids, indeed, are that quick!
She, the caretaker, undid the gate
while keeping an eye on her charges.
With one mistake, it could have been curtains,
it could have been a late and sorrowful hour,
but for God’s guardian entrusted with his saints.
