Party Animal

I see you
Walking through that door
Standing on two feet
When you should be on four

I see you
Right through your disguise
Every word from your mouth
Nothing more than lies

I see you
Grinning from ear to ear
Won’t be long now
Until fangs and claws appear

I see you
Such a big talker
But you dont fool me
I know you skin walker

Premium Member Ever Seen Two Ostriches Kissing

Could there possibly be a single topic
I haven't as yet explored
The love life of the lowly earthworm
Or why most chickens don't snore

And have you ever considered this
Why dogs and household cats
Never wear off the shoulder evening gowns
Nor do horses as a matter of fact

Now that's absolutely outrageous
But not quite as much as this
Two ostriches locked in a warm embrace
As they try to figure out how to kiss

Another one for the books my friends
A basset hound drinking beer
Staggering around drunk outside a bar
Grinning from ear to ear

Okay okay I know what you're thinking
What's in the coffee I'm drinking
Six lumps of sugar, a squirt of cream
And an unknown substance you're thinking

Could there possibly be a single topic
I haven't as yet explored
Methinks that these pretty well sums it up
Till I come up with a couple more

Premium Member Journey Without Movement

Awaking from sleep
We found ourselves here
For no reason at all
Grinning from ear to ear

Our joy was short-lived
As analytical mind took over
Encasing us in a cloud of dust
Stifling our hearts playful caper

Lethargy anchoring us in a comfort zone
Confining attention in a narrow domain
We soon became insentient to throb of love
Ingraining habits leaving our soul stained

Upon reaching the point of exhaustion
We chose cessation, nestled in silence
Therein, astonished at feeling magnetism
Teleporting us to bliss transcendence

Such dear friends, is the world within
A journey without linear movement
Wherein rapture of thunderous bliss ignition
Envelopes us in a sea of tranquil contentment

Sunset Beach

come to me dear friends
I am at the sunset beach
sunset colours are
meaningfully eclectic
orange gray red blue and green

seated by their side
I can look back at
summers winters and autumns
I have left behind
grinning from ear to ear now

while the setting sun
paints the canvas with pleasure
a viewer in her or his dusk may also
guide the blue pattern
of his thought waves in dim light

on further reflection in this direction
it also seems that
the starlight is still more a
mirror than orange
twilight

I am now poised to pull myself in the milky way
look at me diffusing from one star to another
becoming ultimately
a microscopic sequence
of the universal corporality

Premium Member The Gates of Heaven

Last night I dreamed of heaven and I saw the pearly gates.
I saw what was waiting there for me, and it was absolutely great.
There stood all of my puppies each wagging their little tails.
Each one was there to greet me as I came upon their trail.

I saw Ginger and Summer, Kimba and Maddy as well.
I then saw Cujo, Taylor and the Gabs, with many a tale to tell.
I saw every beautiful dog that had been there throughout my years.
I even saw their wings as I dropped to my knees in tears.

I then saw my Lord and Savior he was standing there in their midst.
He was showing me some of his angels that I had loved and dearly missed.
I could also see my parents they were grinning from ear to ear.
They were also standing with their puppies I couldn’t believe I was finally here.

I could see them all but three, then my heart began to sink.
I didn’t see Bella, Lilly or my Lola in her studded collar of pink.
I couldn’t understand how heaven, would bring me such pain and strife.
Then I turned around and looked, they had stayed behind to protect my wife.

Premium Member Enthusiasm Giggles

Rain beats against the window,
As my little boy leans his brow
And little hands against the cool glass,
Staring, longing to go out.

His eyes light up with joyous excitement;
Grinning from ear to ear,
For down the hall by the door
He sees his sister's red and white polka-dot umbrella.

Glimpsing around to make sure no one is looking,
With quick steps across the floor he goes to the door.
He rises on his tiptoes,
Reaching and wrapping his little fingers
Around the doorknob.

Slowly opening the door ajar,
He seizes his sister's umbrella.
Pushing the button he pops it open
And slips away unnoticed.

The pitter-patter of rain strikes the umbrella
He holds high above his head,
As he runs across the yard
To the old wooden bench in the pouring rain.

Jumping he grabs a wooden slat
And struggles to climb on the wet slippery bench,
Springing high his little feet finally makes it up.

Bouncing up and down,
Screeching with enthusiasm giggles
watching the colorful rainbow,
Soaking wet,
He holds on to the back of the bench.

Don’t Look Ethel,
They’re Flashing Us
Written: by Tom Wright

A smile often hides a heart that’s breaking,
It’s as soothing balm when a heart is aching;

A smile often causes another’s heart to race,
Pouring a little joy onto their unsmiling face;

It’s always difficult to experience pain & sadness,
When all around, other’s, are displaying gladness.

A smile can be a cold drink on a sweltering day,
That we’ve freely given, while expecting no pay.

In short, it becomes effortless to not bottle up fear,
When those around us grinning from ear to ear;

England Winning

When we Loose

We console ourselves

With its all about taking part

But when we Win

Its all about Winning

And Grinning from ear to ear

And shedding a tear

So come on England

Everyone of us has had enough of just taking part

It feels much better now we are Winning

And I promise you the nation will never stop grinning

So keep calm and carry on

The Dream is still On

Premium Member Contagious Laughter

I hear a stranger,
Laugh from across the room,
It catches my attention.
immediately makes me smile,
Without intention.

He laughs again.
This time louder.
My teeth are now showing,
My smile has become broader.

I feel the need to look over there,
who’s laughing?
Who’s smiling?
Who’s sitting in that chair?
He has tears in his eyes.
He’s grinning from ear to ear.

He can’t contain his movement.
Almost like he’s moving in rhythm,
Like a dance of happy attunement.

I look around the room,
notice everyone is looking.
But he doesn’t care,
He’s too busy enjoying the moment,
He doesn’t care about the stares.

Everyone is smiling soon,
these strangers,
in this room,
are all starting to smile too.
Some are even laughing,
to a story they never knew.
And never shall.
But it doesn’t matter,
the joy in this man,
has brought joy to us all.

Premium Member An Ode To My Son

Am I proud of son Scottie

Naw... he's just the absolute joy

of my extra long life

Count my blessings

must have chosen the right road

to be rewarded like this

If I knew what it was

would write a book so others

could benefit from my experience

Don't think it was all that extraordinary

but the result in any case

is a loving soul with a kind heart

one that this old dad

is so appreciative of

I'm grinning from ear to ear

sticking out my chest in pride!

New Shoes

As a child I can remember,
How kids would point and whisper.
I ran every time to hide,
So they wouldn't see my cry.
     My teacher found me,
in the bathroom on the floor.
A tear falling down her cheek,
As she stood at the door.
She knelt down beside me, asked if I was ok?
I answered back, "this happens every
day.
My shoes on my feet,
Have holes obviously.
We have no money for clothes.
I'm going thru things I don't understand.
I'm sure you already know."
My Daddy works everyday of the week,
To pay for Mama's medicine.
He told me just the other day,
Soon shes leaving to go to heaven.
My teacher then wrapped her arms
around me and asked," is there anything I can do?"
In that same sentence,
 she said wait a minute,
Can we meet up after school?"
Yes ma'am I answered, what was going on?
Am I in trouble? What did she need?
When I got home from school that day,
There she stood, by the kitchen sink.
She sat down, next to me,
grinning from ear to ear.
I hope you like my gift to you.
You deserve these my dear.
As I opened the box,
 I could see,
the strings of my new shoes,
My teacher bought just for me.

Hexagonal Prism

Hear the silence passing from sphere to sphere,
As if mocked in private grinning from ear to ear,
Cosmic thunder starts from nothing for nothing was always here,
Infinity shudders and quakes then another reappears,
Liquid in dimensions but solid in existence to epoch a cosmic year,
Fusion in parsecs burning out nonsense to simply disappear,
A lonely earth because in this birth we hide all that we fear,
Coexist when nothing makes sense is an ancient curse we must persevere.
