The value for the anion gap tells your healthcare provider something about which other charged particles must be in your blood to make it neutral. This
test gives clues about different types of acidosis, when your blood is too acidic.
It also tells your provider about alkalosis, when your blood is not acidic enough. High anion gap acidoses are most often due to ketoacidosis, lactic acidosis, chronic kidney disease,or certain(toxic ingestions).Normal anion gap acidoses are most often due to gastrointestinal or renal HCO3-loss.((INJECTION 222))

Silly sounds stomachs make:
Borborgymi!
Reflux and GERD both see
Hyperacidity,
Heartburn and stomach aches:
More Tums for me!

Note to self: Double Dactyl, somewhat akin to a limerick… A dactyl is a three syllable word with the emphasis on the first syllable.
This one opens with a nonsense double dactyl, then must use a 6 syllable word on line 2, then another double dactyl, closing out with a dactyl + 1.
A second stanza has the same format. The two stanzas are to be related, and their 4th lines should rhyme.
I'm a little unclear on the naming convention, so I phrased it as something that could be answered by reading the two stanzas
So that’s my first effort, not terribly sure if it was successful...

I can remember a February
away back in nineteen seventy-four
'Twas a first meeting of my family
and my intended whom I'd spoken for.
Two hour ride to Kentucky's western part
with a basketball game planned to follow
home-cooked meal - key to a son-in-law's heart.
The tension on both sides, hard to swallow.
Driving home after the game my sweetheart
suffered an attack, much worse shall we say,
than a mere gastrointestinal fart.
Gas stations, closed; fast food stops, gone astray.
No rhyme nor reason fits distension's distress;
My beloved sensed a connection, right off -
key to dad’s workplace suspended a big mess
as mom wonders, "Was it my rice pilaf?"

St. Duloxetine, thee we beseech
Our chemical plaster to fill the breach
Between raw emotions and hard reality
Our primal instincts and plastic society
Give to your supplicants a brightened scene
With norepinephrine, serotonin, dopamine
So traffic jams hum not so loud
Mindless tasks morph to puffy clouds
Pastel pinks from glowing reds
Dark clouds lighten over our heads
Ease the wear of countless miles
Flatten our frowns, deepen our smiles
Relieve of us of our myriad obsessions
Lengthen our spousal bonding sessions
Allow us to be more like our Savior
Free from socially unproductive behavior
No clay-colored stools or gastrointestinal pain,
Just another day without psychic rain
And of burning questions in our heads
How gently you put them to bed
And should we cry as it all flies by
Sing our weary souls a lullaby

McDonald’s To Mom – Bug Off
By Elton Camp
In Arizona, disgraceful conduct is being seen
Because a parent wants McDonalds kept clean
Filth in the play areas Dr. Carr-Jordan found
The places refused to take action that is sound
She gave them notice and a chance to get clean
But days later the same conditions were seen
What she found was rotting food, dirt and hair
Such disgusting stuff was found most everywhere
Due to that, for dangerous bacteria she did check
What she found, children’s health could wreck
The germs that she found could such as these
Meningitis, nausea and gastrointestinal disease
McDonald’s, instead of working to get it clean
Ordered her out, not wanting a customer so mean
You would think her feedback they would extol
Maybe even employ her to bring infection control
But if they do nothing or take action far too late
It certainly seems to invite regulation from the state

When her gastrointestinal tract
went gurglly and angrily talked back;
lamented my Maria,
"This damn diarrhea
with me flat on my back so lacks tact."

Echoes
By Chuck Keys
The park is empty,
Littered with broken bottles,
Unsightly weeds of irregular lengths,
Varying debris and memories of bygone days.
Void of voices from games past played
Of cheers, sneers, angers and joys
When children screamed, frolicked and stayed.
The wind and silence scream a loud.
Families, picnics and camp fires echo from the past.
Shared foods of gastrointestinal delight flowed freely.
Desserts of Smores, with chocolate bars, fired crispy marshmallows
Smushed inside graham crackers.... Mmm.
Where have yesterday's children gone to play?
To fields of varying sports,
Arenas for love, war, tranquility,
For sport, fame and fortune or death.
The journey begins and ends with each moment of life.
Roads traveled daily become the final journey,
Made up of echoes from past travels,
As life and death converge into an ongoing existence.
Never ending.
