So now what, where do I go from here
I'm wandering around feeling a bit weird

People that I know don't know how to react
Thinking my spirits have finally cracked

Not so, I welcome this change of scene
Drinking more coffee, it's becoming routine

It's similar to finally stopping to smoke
After forty long years for fear that I'll croak

Well wish me luck, I need your support
Hope I don't go weird and begin to cavort

Wearing lots of makeup and leather that rocks
Playing air guitar with long flowing locks

If that starts to happen, I'll revert to the funnies
Hopping around like a pregnant bunny

Hang on a minute, I think that was funning
Well sneaky old me, how utterly cunning

I am bik meteor. a lit a bit of funning,

or turning in a flying bed, as sheep
are worn out by leaps and counting,
running on sentences, perhaps
cross ref rencing guilty teens

and hanging dirty laundry
for all two see, hang ink on

Scruffy, fun and most dear,
I hold memories of you with a tear.

Your wonderful mix of heavenly colors.
Made you a special dog, like no other.

A Wild Haired Fox Terrier were you.
Honestly, I wished, I had not one, but two.

               Frolicking, running and sunning!
A young poetess’s life, blessed with funning!

Just Funning

You keep colorfully saying those hateful things to me,
repeatedly all the time
Then you say that you didn’t mean it

You was just funning

Pulling my leg with your teeth
That sabertooth edge
do love biting into my funny bone

Why say those awful racial
things to me, if you didn’t really mean it?
Are you serious,
now you want me to believe ...

You was just funning?!!!

Having some rich, cruel amusement
at my poor feelings’ expense
Inflicting tongue pain with a flick,
that sly salt lick

But, I hear the real tick, ticking
of your heart
Dropping word bombs
meant to hurt more than skin deep

Hoping the lightness of tone
would fool me
But, the funhouse mirror in your heart
showed the truth
of your subtle bigotry —

That you wasn’t just funning,
you was lung gunning
Hate fired by poisonous syllable
pellet arrows

You love to shoot away,
until you see the surrendering white
in the grave, damp eyes

Spittle slow death by verbal disguise

Premium MemberChristmas Chaos

I saw surreal scenes at the mall:
unhinged shoppers in a hot brawl,
a tired Santa running
away--I'm not funning!--
pursued by kids starting to squall.

I finished my shopping and fled.
The visions that danced in my head
were sugarplums? No way!
So ended my rough day.
I rushed home and went right to bed.

Premium MemberThe Lady In High Heels and the Banty Rooster

A lady was screaming and running
in circles, and she wasn’t funning.
			A critter was chasing
			her. Man! They were racing.
That rooster was swift and so cunning.

Her four-inch high heels made her stumble.
While kicking them off, she did grumble.
			The banty was pecking
			her ankles and wrecking
her panty hose. “S_ _ _!” She did mumble.

			The farmers were calmly observing
			this scene, their attention unswerving.
			“Please help!” Her imploring,
			they kept on ignoring,
not caring her plight was unnerving.

		       “Doggone bill collector!” one uttered.
		     	“You IRS agent,” one muttered.
			“I sell Avon!” she yelled
as tears welled and wounds swelled.
“C-call off this creature!” she stuttered.

“Don’t need none today,” they all told ‘er.
			Her temper continued to smolder.
			Pa said, “Leave ‘er alone.”
That fowl’s bad to the bone.
No rooster could ever be bolder!

Midnight Hollow

That Dark Black Hole,
Makes You Sad
With Darken Wall With No Way out
When You can Fun Because All You See Is black
That Midnight Hollow Through The night

The Dusty Wind, It So Do Blinds Me While Walk Through Paths

Being Creped Out By Hollow Notices Coming From The Back

No Door, Nor Windows To Escape This Hollow Blackness
Hopping For Light
That Demand Self, What's Out While Trying To Escape From Weirdness

Those Thought Goes Through My brain
When Thinking Think
The Dust ,That's All over The Place
It Blows, I'm Blinded
Can't See, While Trying To Walk
Fingering Plans How To Fine Away Out
Then See People ,But There Not People
With Fog In My Way,

"I Think There Zombies, Ready For Brain To eat"
Now All of A Sudden Got Pitch Black, But One Area
I See A Bathroom, I Can Finally Fine Light
"Hoary..... I'm Running Fast Best They Eat Me
I Funning Like The Wind
I'm Almost There,2 mines before LIGHT
I'm Here, I'm Here!
No More, Darkness ...!

Bank bank dip slipping, tail flipping, pout snout

Soft mud ooze soothing,

THE 30s – RUBBER GUN DAYS

“Let’s play rubber guns!
Water guns will cost too much”
This was the 30s cheap fun

The makings were free
Just get an old inner tube
Cut it in strips don’t you see

Now fashion a gun
From a wooden orange crate,
A clothespin trigger, and done!

Red Rider? Why not?
Bb guns were dangerous –
Put out eyes, and cost a lot

Game Boy? Not for me
Give me those rubber gun days
The kids outdoors funning free

Lamar

(In Memory of Lamar "L-Boogie" Featherston)

A handsome, dreadlock-wearing Prince
was My Lamar
With Big, brown Eyes and skin like
tar
Who was destined in LIFE, to score
many a par
Until FATE, saw fit to lead him, some
place, far
Which to Me, still seems so bizarre
When I recall him riding with DeWayne,
in the car
And, them funning, like it's "happy-
hour", at a bar
How it hurts, that he can't be where
We are
Despite of his being in the heavens,
A Rising Star
For his departure has left upon Us.
an impending scar

Skunk

Women once loved me because I was a hunk.
But that ended after I was sprayed by a skunk.
I've taken eleven showers and I still smell.
Needless to say my love life isn't going well.
This stench is as bad as that car on Seinfeld.
All of the ladies run who I've held.
I would like to go back to the good old days.
But when people take a sniff, they run away.
I have some advice for you and I'm not funning.
If you see a skunk, you'd better start running.

Premium MemberStory of Bonnie and Clyde

This is a story of Bonnie and Clyde,
who broke the law, eventually died.
Running from cops they gave assault,
Clyde captured, said; “It’s not my fault”.

“I’m not to blame for robbing that bank.
It was a joke; I loaded a blank.
I did not shoot that guy on the floor,
He was there when I opened the door.”

“You have no proof”, Bonnie retorted.
“He took me on a date;” she thwarted.
“This is Saturday night give us a break,
we were funning, it must be some mistake.”

“I will show no shame, I am innocent.
I am really not trying to circumvent.”
Clyde replied to the officer at hand,
continued his robbery just as he planned.

T-Ball

T-ball
     By Dane Smith-Johnsen

Baseball day, the t-ball way
Was funning in the sun.
Where parents’ shouts
Cheered away doubts.
And little boys had fun.
