My Best Friend

I'm standing here looking down
hoping to see you again,
I want you to know that you are, my
oldest dearest friend,

You've been with me through
everything the hard times and the
good,
But I never treated you, as nicely as
I should.

I've woke up holding you as we laid
together,
And when your looking up at me I
always feel better.

We've been through some sticky
situations along the way,
In fact I can't remember the last
time you didn't wanna play.

We've worked and played more
times then I can even think,
And been in odd places, after having
ourselves a drink.

I think its time that I gave you
another beat.
As you just lay limp, between my big
belly and my feet.

Time With You

The next time that we spend together,
Must be kept in secret,
So I can give you all my heart,
If you should choose to keep it...
In anothers eyes I may seem wrong,
But babe it feels so right,
I wish that I could hold so long,
What's squeezing me so tight...
And everytime I think of you,
The thought just makes me shake,
As visions of us improptu,
Brings rise to what's at stake...
What trembles from the softest touch,
Still warm and cool my skin,
And penetrates me just as much,
As the embrace that we are in...
The time that we will spend together
Even just as friends,
Takes me to a place that never,
Ever seems to end...

Just An Image

You've placed me on a pedestal
from which I can but fall
you've conjured up an image
that isn't me at all

I hate to burst your bubble
with this fiction you've created
but the picture burns a little bright
it's a little over stated

I know you think you know me
but I'm no longer sure
am I only in your head
and is there any cure?

But I'm worried what will happen
when reality starts to bite
will I lose your friendship
when the truth flicks on the light?

Will you still be fond of me
when my halo starts to slide
when all at once you realize
your image of Me's lied?

What We Shared

Take my hand and help me climb, wedge my tumble,
Let me lean on thee, halt my heart throb, humble
Me with thy warmth. Once there was a guy who
Knew me and identified with me, my heart
Would skip at the sight of him. "I love you"
He had said to me. His lovely smile
Thought me gentleness. His caress made my
Heart dream of an eternal bond. And it
came to pass that he found me for a bride
But he passed away with the enraged wind
Of life and my heart had since endured this
Coup. None have been like my John, no; Their brain
Registers no truth. Love is not money,
No, nor is it honey. Love is all so
Deeper than beauty or form. Oh! It's what
My John and I shared. Beauty shall always
Urge body attraction, attitude shall
Birth true interest and commitment shall
Birth care. Money maintains love, not money
Brings love, my teacher had once said to me
Rich or Poor, man has a right to be loved.
They say everything that goes around
Must come around. Let the coin turn it's back
And bring me love with treasured moments or
Let tide and time reverse, that I might meet
My John, and enjoy what time had denied us.

It is completely fiction.

You Are

You are…
Sunny
Sweet
Kind
Fun
Forgiving
Strong
Daring
Magnetic
Beautiful.

Your smile lights up my day and the whole world
I have never felt happier than when our hands touch
I am ecstatic when you ask me how my day was
I love to look into your face and be able to read every expression
I have never felt more like myself than when I’m with you
I feel like I can be a kid and more mature than ever at the same time
Your simple wisdom fills me up and makes me feel whole

I am glad to have you as my friend.

Best of Friends - Revised

What if you're feeling down and out,
lonely and depressed.
What if it seems the world's against you,
when you feel you've done your best.

Please don't be disheartened,
I will never let you fall.
If faith and hope are fading fast,
I'll be at your beck and call.

I'd consider it my privilege,
were I allowed to be,
the one that you would turn to
any time you needed me.

Your pal, your bosom buddy,
your adviser and your friend,
someone you can count on
when you think you're at the end.

I'll be your "comfort in a storm",
a place you'll feel secure.
I'll help you find your peace of mind,
that I can assure!

So consider us the best of friends
and please do not despair,
cause any time you need me friend,
rest assured you'll find me there!

Friend Are My Family Sent By God

There was a time no long ago,
When I felt like I wasn't Love,
A time when the people who was my blood made me feel inferior,
But somewhere along that road I found friends ,
Who accepted me and made me feel like family,
They understood me and listened to me.

I could recall locking myself in my room ,
Most of the time,
Depressed and frustrated,
I listened to music to keep me sane,
I wanted to be happy nothing more ,nothing less,
But it was to much to ask for.

I finally got the courage and left home.
To find my happiness and my purpose.
Along that journey the people who entered ,
Left a permanent mark on my heart,
And they will always be there for standing by my side,
Through thick and thin days.

Thanks To My Poetry Soup Friends

keeping to myself all these years,
afraid to show off the talents I hold dear.
Hiding them well within my fears.
I was told writing would get me no where,
I turned around and walked off instead.
Not paying attention to any of them.
I started writing in my head.
Scared about what people would say.
If they seen the feelings that sprang from my pen.
looking for a place where I would fit in
Finding myself at your website one April night.
A master of words, a writer I am.
God gave me a gift to share.
I wanted to say thanks to my poetry soup friends.
For supporting my words,
challenging me, to try new forms,
And showing me it's ok to open up once more.

Find Out Who Your Friends Are

How did I get here?
When did I start hating you?
Actually, I know when
When I felt alone
When I was hurt
And you made them all turn against me

Almost all

For I still have some people who give a damn
Some people who hate you instead
Some people who don't wish me dead
Or threaten me with the opposite
I'm not afraid of YOU dying
I'm afraid of ME dying

Because in the end,
That would hurt them more
And I can't hurt my real friends.
Leave them ignored.
All alone.

Almost all.

For I still have Courage
And Betrayal
And Anger
And Hurt
And I wouldn't have it any other way.

No More

You basically let the whole school know...
I’m seen as the “offender” now...
I don’t care, mt true friends would’ve never let that happen...
I thought that’s what you were... a TRUE friend... but no,

I guess I was wrong.
I don’t give mercy.
You know the rules...
Don’t get me pissed...

You started a club, let me in then kicked me out.
Now you’re saying “We’ll give you one more chance”
I don’t need any chanced from you, freak...
You just hurt people and don’t give a dang, do you?
But guess what?
In the end,

I ALWAYS win.

Some Great Friends

Our friendship has grown in leaps and bounds.
You'll are the best poet friends around.

You never judge me no matter what I say.
Glad to have friends that like you each and everyday.

The compassion you'll have for me keeps me strong.
It fills my heart with love and song.

So I hope as time goes by we'll stay friends.
Cause with best friends there's no end.

Best Friend

I know you would push me down the edge,
And make sure that I fall upon a hedge.
To make me feel and to learn,
How it feels when I devote things with no concern.
When angry I'll be your punching bag,
If in trouble I'll be your team tag.
Sometimes we agrue and have a wild fight,
Though somewhere within I know you are right.
But then I'll always annoy you till the end,
Still you'll always understand me my best friend.

Friendship

I am grateful for a beautiful friendship.

Our 1st meeting was unique,
my heart alive doing a flip.

Ur soul is real,
refreshing like a cool river dip.

Ur not a backstabber and gossip,
Perfect vascetomy of negativity, snip!

Chains unleashed,
Making me free up,
like a skinny dip.

Conversations flow,
Round and round,
hula hoop on the hip.

Laughing over nonsense,
like reading a comic strip.

Giving advice to deal with trials,
delivering a helpful tip.

You are trustworthy,
And secrets easily escape
from my lip.

Always want to be in your realm,
within my grip

If we never met
It would be like Gladys Knight,
with only one Pip.

Your presence addictive like a potato chip.

Knowing you has made me focus,
ready, well and equip.

Thanks my pal,
for your special friendship!

Sadly

sadly
I thought you were my friend
I thought you were my enemy
but now I’m so confused I can't see anything
sometimes you're there when I fall
but other times you drop me like a hot iron ball
it makes me wonder
are we even friends at all?
Sometimes I win
others I lose
but why cant you just choose
I’m your friend or am I not?
Cuz I’m starting to wonder a lot
you know your my friend
but am I yours?
But I’m tired of getting my face slammed in open doors
so make up your mind
before I lose mine

u know who you are
