Thanks To My Poetry Soup Friends

keeping to myself all these years,
afraid to show off the talents I hold dear.
Hiding them well within my fears.
I was told writing would get me no where,
I turned around and walked off instead.
Not paying attention to any of them.
I started writing in my head.
Scared about what people would say.
If they seen the feelings that sprang from my pen.
looking for a place where I would fit in
Finding myself at your website one April night.
A master of words, a writer I am.
God gave me a gift to share.
I wanted to say thanks to my poetry soup friends.
For supporting my words,
challenging me, to try new forms,
And showing me it's ok to open up once more.

May kindness be our guide. To keep eachother by our side. To help us when the load gets heavy. For the taxman seems to keep increasing the levy. So share your thoughts with us today. We all like to help eachother find our way.

Awesome, Cory. I never came out to "writing" since high school , not until my 40's. It's a great feeling. WE wont' ever any of us get rich off it, but it is SO much fun just to let loose and enjoy!!!

Opening up and sharing feelings is what writing poetry is all about, Cory. You make a wonderful addition to the Soup family and I'm glad you found your way here. Don't ever let anyone discourage you, dear. Keep writing and growing as you try new forms. Well said! Love, Carolyn
