Fellow Feeling Poems | Examples

Not Here, But Far Away

“Every breath for death is an obligation “

Eternity looked at them
Equalized them with prosperity
& said: “they were brothers”
The goal was a long term goal.

Death took an excuse/ Asked for forgiveness / Stroke it hands - passed through the air on its heels / met the night between mountains / Came back with a body & a wreck in shroud
ruptured the reunion of a family.

The parting was sad / Hearts inflamed /Our eyes sought refuge with tears / Floods ran down cheeks.

With a heart that believes
In God’s will & destiny
I mourn “the name” of the dead
I offer a fellow feeling to “the name” - & to “a beloved brother” - may “the name” live in the highest city of God.

In the key to our apartment/ The flowers in our balcony /
The newspaper & letters/ In our cup of coffee / Death is in them all.

Kindness

There’s no greater virtue than kindness. No greater value than fellow-feeling.
Goodwill is not to be comprehended by reason. Kindness is vital for the human existence. It may offer no applause, no rewards. Yet it is an important value to
harness. Concerns for the others foster a more caring society. Little things done
when no one is watching are kindness in its truest form. Kindness allows you to
break down walls and build new bridges. Kindness, Mark Twain considered, as
a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see,

Acts of random kindness is God in action.

when greed runs rampart
and distrust builds barriers
kindness is the key

Among mankind's best—
Brave, courageous
Heroes who do no harm
Assuaging our fear
With fellow feeling and care
Amidst viral strains' stealthy swarm

Among mankind's worst—
Mean, dastardly
Zeros who do know harm
Stoking pandemic fear
Scamming an unsuspecting ear
With a smiling swindler's charm

Heroes and Zeros
Best and worst of mankind—
What a dichotomy!
We'll keep hoping instead
For a bright future ahead
Daily coping with anxiety

Fellow Feeling

M-ay the fellow feeling
A-im to remain each day;
E-vading the forlorn life of the saddest blue and gray.

G-roup of happy people
A-llows everyone to smile;
L-oneliness stays for a moment,
O-nly lasting for a while.
N-o more deep dark night to foil the glory of morning;
O-n the thirteenth of February, there's joy and fellow feeling.

Rat Trap Rap, Part 2 of 2

There, parked in rows
like overused commas
or German prose
or mothballed bombers

lay ranks of rats
as if on drill,
but quite as dead
as vaudeville.

Someone had slit
each ventral hide
and pulled it back
to peek inside.

And there they lay,
flat on their backs,
guts on display,
paws pinned by tacks.

Ashamed, they were,
like party-crashers,
with gaping fur,
like little flashers.

Those organs, packed
so coral-fine,
would soon be hacked
by Class B-9.

Unseeing eyes
stared at the ceiling,
but woke in me
a fellow-feeling.

We’re all the same.
We want to live.
Why dish out blame?
Why bring a sieve,

sort sheep from goats,
grandly decide
who lives and dies?
To my distress,
those little guys
with upturned throats
and parted coats
were nothing less
than crucified.

And When the End Comes

And when the end comes and the wounds have healed
Back into my skin you came digging again
Like a magic with powers trapped in steel
Devouring the comfort I've creating you wrecking train

The days of unrelenting and dreaming
Has come and gone
Wishing for your acceptance, fellow feeling
The days of undying love

So change you cannot was the words you stoned me with
Let us see who will be missing now
Wanting now more, battling guilt
The wrongs we shared but I won't allow myself to do the same
I don't why you are back and if now you smell the rain
And remember your role as a dame
And when the end comes and the wounds have healed
Back into my skin you came digging again

And the Whole World's Sweet...

In a burst of fellow feeling from the sunshine to the earth
ripened blooms to be revealing soundless voices yet unheard
as they seep into my windows with the sugar scented air
set to spark imagination with a certain savoir faire
I'm entranced beyond all vision thought to signify the spring
and I wake to comprehension and the stature that it brings
for I know the movement of the earth relates to every being
and I feel the warmth upon rebirth in saplings to be seeing
In a burst of live sensations from the sunshine straight to me
theres the marked deliberation to be floating, to be free
As the scent of passing flowers find their way into my room
thus the sunshine overpowers and desires every bloom.
