Excogitate Poems | Examples

Elbows and a Kettle

Elbows on the desk,
hands shoved against eyes,
knuckles pressed into their corners.

You know how it is:
you’re thinking, facing the screen.
Pondering, trying to meditate, excogitate.

Where is it? Where was it?
It was in my mind a moment ago.
It’s gone, my brain has lost it.
I even ask what it was.

The kettle boiled, whistled.
A letter hit my mailbox.
A car screeched to a stop out there.
A fly buzzed about my head.

Elbows, hands, knuckles,
thoughts, ponder, meditation;
brain plays with thoughts.
Then kettle, mailbox, brakes, that damned fly.

Touch

Touch, to feel
The touch of a child
As they confidently hold your hand

The touch, of a lover
When he wants you to understand
You are his life by his side too stand

Touch by thought
When you speak words that you hold dear
Remembering the times when love was near

Touch..ed. by kindness
When your heart fills with joy
When someone is sincere you know it's no ploy

Touch of a light kiss
As you wish someone farewell so much pain
Knowing you will never touch them again

A small word so many executions it can make
To excogitate, deep thoughts, to meditate .

Friendship~ salient lyrical canzonet of life's vast immeasurable experiences
an intermezzo in an interminable tedious dulcet musical theater
a masterpiece fabricated through hearts' harmonic jibe
excogitate from comradeship's bond and pinky promise
"HYMN" my heart and soul still warbling in oxymoronic spirit.

**Poet Destroyer**

Friendship- stood like a b-sharp note, the best jubilant occasion
My ears a funnel of tease~ something big in the air, waves off your shoulder.
Repetition and codas beyond the ripples of my reflections~ I see you my friend.
Ready to sing and examine the warmth of immeasurable experience.
The ripples you compose inside me, are like the last octaves parrying symbols.

Excogitate

Silently singing sacred songs…
Reverent resolve repairs reconstructing;
Beliefs beyond blocking barriers…
Carrying Christ Consciousness;
Learning loving living longing…
Focused freedoms fragrance…

The Cat With One Ear

There once was a cat who had only one ear,
alas, only one ear had he.
How it was lost, one can only excogitate,
where it had gone, none had seen.

It could be contested it was intercepted,
by misfortune sneaking about it.
It was deemed quite plausible and not that improbable,
that carelessness, sadly, had found it.

-But the fact remained square, that it wasn't there,
and there was nothing more to say.
When asked if he missed it, he said, quite dismissive,
"I never saw it anyway".
