A cracked, lone brown leaf
Spiralling quickly downwards
Knows only the ground;
But in that motion exalts
As if a plunging falcon.
-------------------------------------
Fallen, wind-blown leaves
Huddling against grey kerbstones
In abject neglect.
Already parks quieter...
Their iron railings more stark.
-------------------------------------
The thick sap retreats
When gnarled bark tightens its grip
On inner heartwood;
Summer faded into nights...
Autumn, failing, covered all.

In shadows' grasp, a silent breath,
Life's curtain falls, the dance with death.
Through twilight's veil, a solemn waltz,
Eternal echoes, life's somber exalts.
A journey ends, the final embrace,
Whispers linger in the quiet space.
A tapestry woven, threads of the past,
Memories endure, a love that will last.
In the realm unknown, where spirits roam,
A departure from the earthly home.
Yet, in the heart, a flicker remains,
A legacy of moments, where love sustains.
In twilight's hush, a journey nears its close,
Dying whispers softly, as the evening chose.
Fading echoes of a life once bright,
Embracing shadows, transitioning to night.
Colors wane, like petals in repose,
A symphony of silence, as the chapter slows.
Whispers of farewell, a bittersweet refrain,
Ephemeral moments, as time loosens its chain.

Forty years ago, we said “I do”
You pledged to me, and I pledged to you
And in a fleeting moment’s span,
our journey through life began.
Our friendship over time has grown
Despite the curved balls, life has thrown.
God has His divine magic spun
Uniting our souls into one.
As we have grown closer to Him,
Our love was kept from growing dim.
His love for us makes ours strong
Even at times when things go wrong.
A better wife I could not find
One so affable and kind.
You have been patient with my faults
When my ego itself exalts.
As we start another year
We can do so without fear.
For the one who pilots our ship
He never falters, nor does he slip.
In this world engrossed in sin
May His light shine from within.
So, a soul forlorn and lost
Will be rescued from life’s frost.

October 24 Praises to God Bible Meditations Based on Luke 6-7
Key Verse – Luke 6:12 And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
PRAISE BE TO GOD FOR EXEMPLIFYING
TO US THE VALUE OF PRAYER
Praise be to God for exemplifying to us
the value of prayer that:
Expresses our need for His help
Exposes our nearness to His heart
Exalts His nurturing toward our hoisting
Examines our naughtiness, hindering humility’s honesty
Expels our negativities, hurts, haughtiness and hopelessness
Luke 6:22 Praise be to the Lord for pronouncing
blessings for us while we:
Love Him with His compassionate might
Live for Him by His comfort and mercy
Let Him cover us around His marvels
Lead others to His magnificence
Learn from His miracles
Luke 7:9 Praise be to the Saviour Who
commends us of our faith:
Propelled by His Word
Propped upon His ways
Prospered with His wonders
Powered through His wisdom midst worship
Pushed toward His worthy work against worldliness. Amen!

Why He loves me, I can’t imagine.
Why He blesses me, I am unsure.
Why He values me, I don’t know.
Why He lights my soul, is unknown!
When He stills the winds, I listen.
When He moves the heart, I pray.
When He forgives my sins, I’m thankful.
When He smiles on me, I’m filled with praise!
Where He goes, I will follow.
Where He is, I long to be.
Where He exalts, I feel certain.
Where He promises, I can breath!
How He inspires me, I can’t describe.
How He stirs my heart – excites.
How He lights the dark, enthuses.
How He saves my soul – truly gratifies!
Whom He says He is – He is!
Whom He blesses, is blessed indeed!
Whom He saves, is saved forever!
Whom He is – He is King and Savior!

With praises and thanksgiving to God, the Giver of gifts, I am expressing my gratefulness for the gift of Poetry Soup lifetime premium membership that has been bestowed upon me this day. Thanks likewise to the vessel used by the Lord as a channel of blessing to serve as my benefactor. This is indeed an answered prayer as I have been a member of this poetry site since April 9, 2018. Moreover, this endowment is surely an evidence of faith that claims God's assurance, asserted in Jeremiah 33:3, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”

MY NAME MEANS BLESSED
For gift of life indeed precious
Packed with love and care, so gracious
My heart exclaims praise magnitude…
Blessed, I give God my gratitude.
Pardoned against guilt’s misery
Rescued from bitterness fury
My soul exalts grace-abundance…
Blessed, I gain peaceful assurance.
Cheered up to face toilsome hardship
While ushered for earnest worship
My faith beholds miracles' might…
Blessed, I pray to God with delight.
Striving for sublime contentment
Through my heavenly engagement
My spirit trusts the Saviour's Word…
Blessed, I conquer by divine sword.
With triumphant stewardship zeal
Bearing fruits midst prayerful seal
My service seeks God's approval
Blessed*, I share kindness' revival.**
*Jeremiah 17:7 “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.”

Faithfully exuding reflected light
Firmament gem displays celestial might
Along functional role midst lovely sight
Crystal obscured by cloud–yet never shouts out loud
To show glow sun endowed–exposed against fog’s shroud.
Here am I enthralled by your charming ray
Grateful to the Creator’s wondrous way
Of presenting your marvels day by day
Now then with cheerful heart–I’ll sing praise for fresh start
Like hymn, “How great Thou art”–as my worshipful part.
While I behold your luminescence plight
My soul exalts Master Artist sans crowd
Blest with quietude that invites to pray
Expecting gleam tonight against doubt’s dart.
*Genesis 1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night...

The parties of the buffalo
Presented (mis)guidance to my mind
Symptoms of sanity - I forgot
Poured tricks into my ears
Empty it of instructions
Loosened the strings of light from my forehead
Fell me into the misfortune of corruption - overthrew me from the right path
So that my light does not touch its radiance.
The sterility of their torture
Poured bitterness / A crack in my heart
So I sang to them:
With the truest of repentance
A song that outweighs the scale of rewards
A song whose lyrics is thunder - my voice thunderclap
A song whose garment is lightning
A song about A God who exalts himself
The one who made cell a sperm - caused growth from embryo - created bones - clothed with fine meat - made veins cross - guided the body part to do their thing.

There is much to be said about the value of friends
Those who lift us up when we try to make amends
A crutch to help us stand when we stumble and fall
Hit us with the power of truth, thrown like a fast ball
They offer welcoming shoulders to receive our tears,
Teach us the importance of choosing to change gears
To stand with us against the barbs of disgruntled foes
Refrain from judging when we've caused other's woes
Those who are patient listeners, offering us their ears
They dry our weepy eyes, smile at us and say, "Cheers."
We love their tender mercies in forgiving us our faults
Honoring them humbles us, and their character it exalts.

X marks the spot - teeny fingers tap colors.
Youngster’s attentive to the rainbow bars.
Language of a rambunctious or prissy toddler.
Oscar music songbook exalts experience.
Potent stick and head, of a kinetic hammer,
Hones in on the eight tones, piercing the eardrum
Of the voracious student sounding the glockenspiel.
Newness of counting, colors, pounding, music;
Eyes, ears, and fine motor skills titillated.

Her large, dark eyes are a night sky full of stars — offering a glimpse of the eternal,
containing more wonders than in the whole universe — the very thing she seeks when she enters mosques and temples though sometimes, it is as though she sees God everywhere and sometimes, she thinks the entire universe can not hold the weight of her love, her passion,
Her warmth — it is the only thing that can can make brokenhearted souls feel safe enough to forget their own names — to forget how to speak — while she paints the word alhamdulillah with a calligraphy brush, reads you a love poem with a subtle trace of idolatry in the way the lover exalts the beloved, her voice is gentle, her fragrance soothing, her touch healing,
Her body — soft, she is bursting with love. An oasis, with pomegranate trees, she is a rose so lovely it can only bloom in dreams, not here on earth, she is Hope itself — she is a prayer, she is a vision of Paradise
