The woman gave her the evil eye
She hated her, but dared not show it
Just a glance was more than enough
Put her in a bad funk most of the day
She came back a bit later, hoping she had left
No such luck, she was still there,
with a haughty attitude, a reminder of all the things
Cindra could have been but wasn’t
Your eyes are so close together
You have a blemish on your cheek
You are unlovable, worthless,
She never realized until that moment
How much she resembled her grandmother
GREEK EVIL EYE
Beware, beware my friend of the evil eye,
It is mere jealousy that others see and spy,
So always have one in your home,
Often seen in a Church dome,
An evil eye can bring you harm, make you cry!
An example or two, a pretty dress you wear,
Someone (normally female) says how beautiful dear,
You don’t give it much thought,
Say thank-you so much, bought,
It yesterday, go round the corner, nail does it tear!
You have told many people you are going overseas,
That afternoon is a very cool breeze,
You forgot to bring a jersey,
Lucky you they say, rather pertly,
You get bad flu, cancel your trip as you sneeze!
So keep one somewhere, in Greece worn on a chain
On your hand or your neck, fashion statement, it’s plain,
Give many to my non Greek friends,
They wear it proudly, know it transcends
Any jealous or evil thoughts will go down the drain!
P.S An evil eye is a bead or a charm, which can be worn or hung up in a home.
It can be regarded as an ornament or as piece of jewellery.
Hurricanes twirl like a kaleidoscope,
chaotic fragments crash in pewter sky,
perpetual unstable isotopes
create apocalypse on land once dry.
Cacophony of wind does shear the hope
to quell hysteria in waters high.
The spiraled carnage in the wind does fly
outside the hollow of an evil eye.
Captain Evil Eye is here
More a super villain than a hero
Just one look from his evil eye
Your temperature drops to zero
Yes it is Luke’s little party trick
This thing he does with his eye
When he stares at you with that look
You don’t know whether to laugh or cry
Go and do your homework
And Captain Evil Eye is there
Go and tidy up your room
You’ll see the steely glare
Come on now it’s time for bed
The evil eye stares you down
Captain Evil Eye looks a little
Like some psychotic clown
But even super villains get tired
And we eventually get our way
As Captain Evil Eye is put to bed
His evil work done for the day
