Ancient tomb where a lady does repose
Guarded always by her most faithful friends
Sarcophagus carved with eternal rose
Always safe forever they will defend.
This tomb completely lost to march of time
Buried deep under eternal city
Floral smell invades space it is sublime
The guards are stoic no sign of pity.
Life lived where duty did always prevail
Her young beauty was compromised by age
In declining years she became so frail
Yet, wisdom was boundless a mortal sage.
Her lost tomb and guards do not perceive time
Even though the city bells oft-times chime.

"Take Me There Contest, Judged 01/21/2023/ NA"
I yearn to visit the eternal city of Rome,
St. Peter's Basilica with its tall dome;
oh, love the beautiful gilt and art,
the holiness touches my heart.
The Sistine Chapel,
breathtaking,
the ceiling dappled.
I want to walk cobbled streets,
and pause for some Italian eats.
To see the Vatican garden and catacomb,
to wander outdoor markets and just roam.

Eternal city where
Mere mortals bravely tread
Inhaling rarefied atmosphere
That still evokes Renaissance passion
Caravaggio's art speaks from his paintings
While our verbal discourse becomes mute
Before his mighty vision.

Psalm 137
1. By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, also we wept at our
remembrance of Zion.
2. On the willows, in the midst thereof, we hung up our lyres."

I hang my words on a weeping willow tree,
and fall to my knees in a lament and song;
for I am afraid of the temptations of earth,
so, I go at gathering places of true believers.
I sing and pray for my heavenly God to hear me,
and seek his Zion, the place where he dwells;
his holy eternal city, his heavenly kingdom,
though enemies and life drag me down.
I will find my end of life nirvana in time.

High up in the heavens, sits a lovely peaceful place.
Your faith and good deeds will take you there, in the afterlife.
The city n the clouds, its name is Shambhala.

Two colors stand on Capitoline Hill
- the gold, the purple of the Roman era -
flag that recalls the ancient pomp
but nowadays the Yellow is for the sun
shining on the beauty of the seven hills
the Red is for the heart
of the Eternal City and its friendly folk.

As corporate execs rub their hands together
In greedy glee on seats of plush leather
The man on the street smells the breath of the city
Whilst the man in the tower thinks himself quite witty
As the look down upon the masses below
Eking a living, walking hungry and slow
On the sidewalk that feels like the skin of the city
But as the markets fall and crash
The wealthy man becomes poor in a flash
And in anxiety and desperation
His turmoiled mind finds a last inspiration
To walk to the balcony with a sobbing cry
And to spread his wings with hope he can fly
And the city below opens its mouth
As the suddenly poor plummets down south
And the stench of the breath of the eternal city
Is the fetid decay of the man that was witty
Yet the steady masses still stumble along
To the beat of the street and the city’s live song

He walks in the dark.
He speaks in the light.
Covering himself with a sheep skin.
Mimicking the voice of the Priest.
Thousands hail him as the messiah.
He smiles in the light but frowns in the dark.
A cold-hearted man holds his hand in the dark.
He meets the judge unexpected.
Is only the judge who has eyes in the dark.
The judgment, the judgment.
A call without a notice.
A day for records and memories.
The dark footprints has been uncovered.
The messiah of the people is naked.
Walks on the path to the crossroads of glory and misery.
The judge sends him to the path according to his deed.
Judgment is the river we cross to the eternal city.

As a clock's hands are advancing forward,
By cubits time is abbreviating our stay.
As incoming tides are rushing shore-ward,
We busy ourselves doing things our way.
But God made no provisions for reversal,
We ought get matters precise the first time.
Our earthly days are only our rehearsal,
For that futuristic eternal city sublime;
From death, no escape, no turning back,
But some won't face this earthly demise,
Until the rapture we fight Satan's attack,
With eyes affixed on that Heavenly prize.

Man once was a sacred human species
Who learned strife using earth’s forms of pieces
From beastly logic of his minds own fiction
Came his illusions of mind depictions
As the wholesome earth quakes at the mind’s fakes
Oil spills of mind’s evil deals, as minds quake
One optional door left to explore, heaven
From whence spills forth the Agape leaven
Choose by grace your lovely persona face
For mind’s face lays our earthen treasure at waste
A golden treasure’s power in human hands
A city treasure of heart or barren lands
Agape’s golden city, or whorish pity
From depth of heart is built, gold’s eternal city
