Premium Member If a Tree Should Fall

if a tree should fall and there is no one to hear it
not even the merest susurrus for a poet to capture the moment
the encomium will cease

with each slight
each rejection of the light
and acknowledgement withheld
the all encompassing existence of all
called into question
the glacier crevasses gape
to engulf
the whole

however
frozen to the core
we must
remain undaunted
on a steady bedrock of the conviction
that all existence
isn’t in vain

if we can dream it we will not fade away
like unalterable photographs from bygone eras

we are the essence
the stases
holding
reality of
all life
in the
balance

Truths To Live By

Time of life,
Time of strife,
Time of purpose,
Time we suppose.

Nobody can tell what's behind the veil,
We don’t want to see what’s pale,
Nobody can see what's behind the door,
We’re a far cry from the core.

Someone desires to wear our shoes,
They don't want any encomium to lose,
They desire flowery days,
Can they an edging turmoil face?

We can't escape life's midnight,
Even though our chamber is pervaded with light,
Every shooting star loses its radiance,
Nature’s music ends and halts our dance.

Time is not in our hands,
Time is beyond the sands,
Time brings and it takes,
Time placates, it also quakes.

Premium Member Hellboy Encomium

Son of a demon and a witch,
Fighting against harbingering the apocalypse.
The Right Hand of Doom against Heaven's sake...
Accompanies this young boy and his pancakes.

Born from Hell,
In which he will twice return;
A reputation of honor and respect,
Is one he would earn!

Goblins, ghosts, ghouls and golems;
Godly and ungodlike all to confront...
Now an honorary man and a Bureau,
Guarded by his giant punch!

His coat and belt would house items,
To balance off his fiends and occult.
And when they didn't work,
He would just go for the throat!

Ogdru-Jahad, Baba Yaga and Rasputin,
Are a few of the villains he would face,
This Anung Un Rama,
Our Hellboy, our fate.

Childhood

I wish to write an encomium for myself
Paint it's hue with my mother's advice and my father's guilt
For it will dress the colour of my heart
Purple
Which fell pale to the clutter of their voices In my adolescent nights
A glance of this write will make my eyes swim to the rivers of their arguments
I wish to entitle it childhood.

Ecomium

ENCOMIUM
Out of mouths of men comes stream
of impunity
Its devastating inhumane effect lasting
beyond eternity
Ripping apart the wellspring of joy
to humanity
Profound animosity hiding behind
expressed equanimity
Creating an image of a society devoid
of solidarity

Heads devoid of integrity and empathy
have arrived apex leadership
Between the ruler and the ruled,
is there any relationship?
Unhealthy state of intellectual curiosity
has brought untold poverty
Incessant making of policy without
scrutiny
O! when shall I overcome this
unprecedented hardship?

I long for change
Inevitability of change has brought terror
My body,My Soul and My Spirit has been challenge
Closing my eyes,I see,I smell, I feel horror
Unbreakable chains, Irresistible bondage

I run to the youths
Their ways are inexplicably vicious
I run to the naive kids, the future youths
Knowingly,am bitten,now am undoubtedly venomous
This is nothing but the naked truth

O Fate
Thou has seriously dealt with me
Leaving me in shambles, I thank thee
I see my future now
As I look on the bright side to the I bow

My Pain, and Pains

With a Heart soaked in Pain,
I bowed and removed my Hat,
Tears, tickling my cheek,
Like Matilda i have dragged my Pain here.

An Encomium i have come to pay,
The Pain i tried to Masticate,
Like a rock, It was not edible.

But to You, The Mountain Melter,
Its non-verbal expression is legible,
'cause as The Omnipotence,and Omniana,
You dont need an interpreter.

Higgedly-piggedly i appear before Thee,
To seek Thy Fountain of Gratification,
Pleading You unleash Thy Spigot of Purification,
To shelter me, away from my Pain, and Pains.

Reductio

Beakers ready, gentlemen,
titration calibrated to the critical degree;
unveil the poetry distilled
until reagents strike at all the barriers
that we erect in love, in agony,
in little niches, shadowy within the walls
along the course to home.

The night is warm and lovely,
radiance too harsh for summer's mists;
encomium may palliate the grave
yet leave it heaving with the frosts of truth.
May I not listen to the night?
May I not revel in its sweetness?

There is the lover with a heart congealed;
I would not see the distillate.
I could not care, for I am moved
not by nuance but by the lumbering
advance, the shameless ploy
of glorious beasts too wise
to manifest themselves within
that paradise of art I face,
that soft chagrin emerging, ghostlike,
from around my pen.

Encomium

At that hour
 the breeze turns around.
 The fishermen are coming back
 with hands splintery,
 without lips,
 with eyes of stone.
 The bottom is empty
 like a bottle at midnight.
 The shore is there
 where somebody’s waiting.
They’ve sleept for a long time. Dreaming.
 With hands locked together.
He, the wind, the last one
 an orphan, leads
 them…

Sue Mason

Does she still come here
The seasoned philosopher and pen
That chart so will the flesh's crumbling
In easy ecstasy of words?
She had a way, using colors like nouns
That lived and breathed like us
Listen when she describes dust
For her pen is a wand touching words
To become anything she wants them to be
Perhaps she hoped each word would drain
The fountain of her pain
But that leave her bravery no podium
To stand upon for love's encomium
I am thinking of you today, Sue
As poet and person,
Hoping time has not worn out
The last bit of you
And this memory on your leaf
Will fetch a fresh sparkle of dew.

The Enlightening Encomium of Grinning Garrick Beauregard, Or, a Sailor's Death

No towering, flowering landlocked tree
Will weep for the waning life of thee
Forgive them, friend, they never saw you smile
Forgive them, friend, they never saw you smile

To mistress maritime were you married
For her you lived, so to her be buried
Below the surface of sorrowful sin
Where above there breathe hateful, hollow men

Solar systems spin and endless seas flow
Though they are bereft your supernal glow
Forgive me, father, I can't seem to smile
Since you died, father, I can't seem to smile
