Premium MemberCapricorn Energy

Capricious laughter’s an aphrodisiac,
always carried on the wind euphoria;
Prepare to fumble free fall and level up,
really what is it you want to master?
I will show you Capricorn confetti,
colors that paint a disciplined maniac;
Ordinary isn’t enough I want El Dorado,
riches and brand name rags go together;
No ceiling exists on this type of ambition;

Easy for them to talk but I get it done,
now ask me again if I live to have fun;
Every day is a reason for an adventure,
ready set let’s ride a little bit faster;
Go hard on everything or keep it moving,
you can ride with me if you dig debauchery.

Premium MemberThe Long Haul Home

A desire sets off
towards a place far inland whose spires
lift like raised pikes on the horizon.
There is always a "somewhere" hanging
in the sky above your head,
an El Dorado, a glistening pot,
a floodlit dream plastered like a billboard
on a roadside hoarding promising
a better life on Paradise Island Estate.

But you never get there,
petering out on the side of a highway,
running low on fuel or finding
that you really don't want to go
to that place where you
first set out to go. A lifetime on
you should have known
the answer has always been waiting
back here, sitting at the far end
of a U turn, after the long haul home.

Premium MemberParadise Found 2

Were I to swim to the edge of the sea,
what splendid scene should await for me?
Would I behold the legendary town
with glittering brick roads and king’s famed crown?

Could I uncover the truth in the seed,
win a place in the king’s absolute creed?
Anoint my body, in sticky sap drown,
paddle to Guatavita and dive down.

Arise from the waters clean as a bead,
to the fest of El Dorado I’d lead.
No other exists so gilded, hands down,
an existence of gold — building and gown.

I’d join with the Muiscan folk, indeed
take up residence and full life proceed
to build again a foundation so sound
that none could purloin the gold around.

World befallen by avarice and greed,
best forgotten I hardily accede.
To such golden place without up or down
I’d ever exist in paradise found.

Premium MemberBells of Saint Mary's

When I've seen all the seven wonders,
And sailed beyond rainbow’s end.
When I’ve crossed the lost horizon
And discover Nirvana, again.
When I’ve conquered El Dorado.
When I reign in Shangri-La.
When I’ve colonized Utopia,
And claim hegemony in Oz.
When I’ve slain these restless demons
That give chase to the sun and the moon,
I’ll be back where I started, a pilgrim come home,
With the bells of Saint Mary’s chiming at noon.

She Told Me

She told me she loved me
She told me I was her world
She told me the earth was flat

She told me our future was paved with gold
She told me our love shone like diamonds in the sky
She told me all about El dorado

She told me our love would burn for ever
She told me it was an ever burning flame
She told me she had seen a phoenix fly

She told me I was her shining light
She told me I was her knight in armour
She told me all about Camelot

She told me she would sing for me
She told me the words would mean a lot
She turned out to be a mermaid and left me on the rocks

I told her I loved her, Mine was real but hers was not.

Choices

In the subconscious lies a litany of  thoughts
Very many of them deep thoughts
The inevitability of the human mind it is
Thoughts masked by human facade
Or mirrored so the blind can see

Like smoke they may fade away
Like glue they may stick and stay
Action and reaction, choices cast
The effect embrace we must

A starry sky buried in the mind
Puerile, pious, profane, we find
But choices we must make
Hate, love, good, or bad, choices we must make

Sanity and serenity it can breed
Insanity and anxiety may abound
Boats rocked, or storm quelled
From the belly of choices they are birthed

Choices breaks barriers like torpedo
Buried in the mind ever green like avocado
Can make *****sapiens lose libido
Get it right and behold El dorado

Developed cracks deep as crater
I see the sun shining down like water
Unbeknownst to me I was under the influence
Never shall I remain in silence
Make a choice and live with the consequence

Premium MemberJames Caan

From the Bronx in New York, he certainly went far.
In television and movies, this man became a star.
There were so many played characters we got to know.
Jim was "Mississippi" opposite John Wayne in "El Dorado"
In "Brian's Song", he was the late Bears fullback Brian Piccolo.
In "The Godfather", James was Vito Corleone's son Santino.
About this storied actor's roles, there is so much more to say.
At the age of eighty, James Caan is still going strong today.

I thank both imdb.com and wikipedia.org online encyclopedia for valuable information I obtained to write this poem.

Premium MemberMajesty

A golden halo crested jagged peaks,
It’s kiss of morning splendour
Tasted like a Valley-fruit cocktail;
Yellow-orange fire rising over the glass,
And, full to the brim, sloshed streaks
Down the mountains. Citrus venture
Splashed the spruce and the soft shale
With orange juice hues along the mountain pass.

Morning breathed a soft sigh,
Just enough to raise the hair on
My arms. Standing over Heaven, its gates
Of carven oak and sharp pine musk;
El Dorado is the majesty of the sky.
A golden city reflected upon
The ground which I stand, the lakes
And the streams in a land of dusk.

Golden leaf, silver spoon, still distraught
Are those that don’t realize beauty cannot be bought.

Ruined

To get from A to Zee,
Requires Speed,
That and other trash;
Have whatever you fancy,
It’s Happy Hour,
Ice, Coke, Crack, dope……….
Know what I mean!

Ok admitted - not easy!
People need dough
To get what they crave,
Either you push
The stuff,
Give your body away,
Or you’re Daddy’s little girl.

Get-off me!
I’m not giving anything for free,
Just advice, see!
When the needle hits,
You’re ready,
THIS IS Rocket Science,
In Person -
You are now flying
At the speed of Light,
And what d’ya know:
Nobody but nobody
Can reach that kinda velocity,
But you can!

You’ve heard of Shangri-La,
Atlantis, El Dorado? I bet……..
You can hit them all
In twenty seconds;
“ Much have I wandered in the realms of gold”
That too,
Without leaving your room!

“ Cold Turkey ? “
Don’t give me that bull!
You wanna hit the stars fast?
Then sometimes you’re gonna have a little crash,
No one got to anywhere without trying….
Huh!
So?

Flow Into Your Heart's Glow

Flow into your heart’s serenade
If happiness should glide and slide
Away the lemonade
You struggle to hide in a ride

Into booze or a cruise
Into screams and streams
That pretend not to bruise
Your fragile ego as the steam of dreams

You entertain and maintain
Despite evidence that your last dance
Meant to ascertain your whims to retain
Forays into maybes and buts balance

The reality that the rhythm of ceaseless pursuit
Of stubbornness runs counter
To underlying the suit
You don in your eagerly awaited encounter

With fate in which cry as you may
Catalyzes a conundrum that punishes the procrastination
You prop up at the dismay
Of stakeholders whose destination

Glides away into El Dorado territories
Where unhindered they pan gold nuggets
Despite the absence of factories
That meet exacting targets

Which you fail to meet
In the wake of the uncertainty
Evident in every tweet bereft of wit
You post to drive a wedge between your fiction and stark certainty.

Slimy gloppy corn smut
Smeared on a tortilla
Tastes like a monkey's butt
Thank you, Pancho Villa.

Crows' hearts in chili sauce
Beer-battered crickets
Bad luck and double-cross
Ten dollar tickets.

Bar fight in El Dorado
Devil on the trail
Mule train in Colorado
Bandits of the rail.

Vampires and gunslingers
Snakes off the grill
Harlots, saloon keepers,
Ghosts of Boot Hill.

Premium MemberOh Such Bliss

My heart is singing a nightingale song
My day has arrived with the wonders of colours
My long winter has come to an end
My eternal search has finally ended
My life has uncovered its true meaning

There is finally a glimmer of light at the end of a long tunnel.

I finally know what it means to love
I know the meaning of Elysium
I finally have the courage to fly high
I feel much richer than El Dorado herself
I know that I have something to wake to

Oh such bliss! If only it would not die

Somewhere Some Quiet

It is very quiet tonight
You are talking in the language
Of twilight,
Your river
Hesitates to shiver
However
A swan shadow
Molecules of el Dorado
Sitting in your eyes
Along with
Nano crystals
Of warm ice
In a cool candle light
It is very quiet tonight

It is very quiet tonight
In your eyes in dim delight
A romantic starlight
Weaving a magic of shade and light
That so softly excites
The honey flame
Of our lyrical poem
In this blissful quiet tonight
We will try it
We will see
This glorious glee
Of the edges
Of our waiting sea
Of our bends and stretches
Our Cashmere graces
Our purple presses
So that
The starry chat
That we are at
Will be lovely writ
In the poem
Of our wonder words
Spoken and unspoken
In the dream doors
We have opened

And our instinctive candle
Lyrically lit
