Solely on Us

We can harvest well,
But we must plant our saplings;
We can build up luck.

Glass within Glass

A glass within a glass;
in that glass, I seek.
A life within a life;
in that life, I find an unknown movie.

Passing distant echoes,
chasing unforgettable letters and pauses,
finding comfort in the words,
searching for meaning in a glass within.

There is a transparent figure;
I confront myself with an unsatisfied appetite.
There is a wholesome attitude;
I return to myself, and then someone is finally abandoned.

I used to curse my glass for a long time.
I used to urge myself to be forgotten.
I shaped myself into something vast:
a life within a body that strides into the unknown.

I contradicted my reflection with a mouthful of pretty lies.
The light reflects like dice in the glass in my mind.
For so long, I have been trying to chase an unknown dream:
from where I stand to where I am destined.

Sometimes our best intentions

miss the impossible target-perfection

Sometimes our best efforts

leave us hopeless and contemplating defection

Sometimes our goal

of being everything to everybody

misses the target so that we feel

we give very little to anybody

Oftentimes we must stop

to refuel our bodies and our minds

so that when we are engaged in lifting up

we do not leave ourselves behind

Sometimes our best intentions

must be reexamined through the lens of gratitude

Sometimes our best efforts

must be weighed on the scales of self-affirming latitude

Sometimes we must pause

to just give ourselves and others grace

so that we empower our vision

to redefine the target for this race

Efforts

I make an effort
To wake up grateful daily
but sometimes I forget
Most days when I wake up
I thank the unseen for a solid nights rest
this warm bed, 4 walls, and a sheltered roof to cover my head
I always remember to think about when I was without and how blessed I should feel with all of these gifts, I often forget
I have so much and have come so far
I've passed many tests even though I struggle. I just try my best
humans survive with smiles, flawed and tired eyes, heavy hearts in the chest
But we manage to wake up every day
That should be enough to try our best
We're luckiest of life forms since
Choice is what we get
I don't always remember
But I try my best to focus on all the things
I take for granted as I am truly blessed.

Try things

Life is a brief span; seize tight each passing moment,
For yesterday's pain should reflect in your sight,
To map out your routines after your heart's consent,
Thus, paving a way to banish your plight.

Don't question how others make things right,
Strive, don’t wait your strength is taking flight.
Years for thriving aren't lost, but we miss tracking their way,
Time is fragile, our plans create inner tension each day.

As we continue doubting, our spirits procrastinate;
Blind to precious moments, fear of trying escalates.
Then, it seems that frailty is imposed on dreams,
Creating tension in insight, plans, and themes.

Premium MemberI laugh at their efforts to shame me

I laugh that my friends think managing my cell phone time is rude
I keep my phone off until I want to make a call out.
saving me time I would not have wanted to spend
listening to people who want to be listened to.

my friends indicate that I am a traitor, less a friend than I could be
if I left my phone on, and kept myself at the ready for their calls.
I do not let my phone dictate my hours; I value my time
and laugh at their efforts to shame me.

Premium MemberThe Teacher

Again and again, the teacher enters the classroom.
Her lessons are heard by the eager but also fall on distracted minds.
The teacher reaches out to students and then loses their attention again.

Day after day the teacher rises above the noise,
carries the hopes and the potential of all children,
and each time we burden her with more paperwork.

Time and again society demands better education,
reaches from policy heights to the crowded classroom,
longs as an eternal ideal to ignite young minds.

The teacher is always moving among the desks,
to guide us today and prepare for tomorrow.

She looks with patient eyes straight into
our confusion, boredom, struggles, and dreams
but we do not dare to meet her expectations.

Only the spark of curiosity can match her dedication,
yet it flickers and fades in the face of rigid systems.

Bell after bell rings, marking time's relentless march,
as another day of possibilities slips away,
lost in a maze of standardised goals and distractions.

The teacher persists, her spirit unbroken,
while childhood's fleeting moments vanish,
sacrificed on the altar of misguided priorities.

Premium MemberElves Keep Their Efforts To Themselves

elves wanted to dress the snowman Rudolph had left.
We need to stack high said the bossy one, Cleft.
They stood shoulder to shoulder until they could reach.
Putting a scarf on the snowman; it was orange, yellow and peach.

Rudolph came back and said “Wow! You guys are fast!”
None of them told him why Snow Flake was wearing a cast.
They did not want Rudolph to think they did not appreciate his gift.
Twinkie was still missing, probably inside a frozen snow drift.

Weal and Woe

The more the silence, the louder it gets.
Life is filled with misery and despair.
I find peace as the sun sets.
One can never breathe the fresh air.

Why am I stuck with this feeling?
Never satisfied nor ecstatic.
Why is life this sad and depressing?
Is my life really problematic?

All I feel is wistful and despondent.
Rainstorms all over my room.
Can I ever be independent?
I am happy, is what you assume.

Synthetic Lust

The thread between him and me feel synthetic,
As he weaves its fabric with rush,
As he makes frantic efforts to chop the distance off,
As his desperate hands tighten the clasp,
He craves and drools over the smoothness of my skin,
My raw body feels it's pressure,
Bruising tender arms and muscles
I wake up to deep scars and marks,
And wonder to myself if that's what love is all about?

Double Efforts To Destroy Trouble

Patiently bear all the troubles
Turn them into bursting bubbles

Calmly accept life's happenings
Hoping God will show openings

Only for us God is present dear
Regarding His presence be clear

Deal with all problems stoically
Prayer will do wonders magically

Surely a solution is available
We are from troubles bailable

We must honesty make a try
By totally believing in the Sky

When in the Sky we can fly
Our greatness, it does imply

Our potential remains dormant
We must utilize our fine talent

If we budge for fear like a fool
We blunt without brain our tool

Please trust and act and aim
Surely success you can claim

Troubles and problems will die
If prayer and hard-work we tie.

For Victory, Efforts Are Necessary

Today you are given a great loss
But, this may not at all continue
As you can surely better your skill
Here only great patience is needed

Please think of proceeding further
By making lots of improvements
If success is a cake-walk to you
Your talents will get easily blunted

Great souls when they were losing
Did maximum work with true grit
As a result of their sincere pursuit
They emerged at last as winners

Any useful performance is always
Preceded by colossal efforts only
God even may not help, but toil
Will bring the needed success

Hard-work will perform sure magic
It will create a sure way to the top
Bringing on its way real miracles
That will make living outstanding.

Premium MemberConfidence In Life

Where's the confidence in life
You're facing a controversial world
Of changes, chaos and upheavals
But an optimist will see a chance in difficulty
A pessimist will see difficulty in a chance
You have to try to live better
God only helps those who help themselves
Only trials, perseverance and efforts
Will accomplish something
A little accomplishment means
A little confidence
Let's the confidence piles up
And you'll have eureka at last

Possible If Efforts You Double

Surely there is a way
Please search honestly
God watches when you pray
And will help you definitely
Hope for the red-letter day
For your name to stay infinitely
Try very hard before you die
Sky likes not when you cry
Dry hearts get not God's reply
Always love,never at all hate
And extend a helping hand
When you wisely contemplate
Troubles, you can withstand
Via hard-work, overcome fate
Pray to make God understand!

Premium MemberThe Bicycle

Learn to ride a bicycle is not simple
As is life
The accessories like the pedals, the chain, the tires
And the handlebar
Must all in good conditions
As are life essentials a must
You must push the pedals
To move the bicycle
As are efforts needed
To achieve a successful life
You must steer the handlebar
For a right direction
As is the right direction needed
To achieve your ambition and dreams
There are always no short cuts
Without efforts in life
God is never silent
He is giving lectures in nature
It's time we try to understand
Will we
