Premium Member I Plucked The Moon From The Sky

I plucked the moon from the sky last night.
No one else seemed to be using it
So, I thought, “Why not?”

I mistakenly thought it would fit comfortably in my pocket
But, it bulged, protruded, and made it difficult to sit!

“Stupid moon!
What good are you?” I grumbled.

A TV news anchor rattled on about
Potential collapsed ecosystems, climate chaos, and mass extinctions.
All around me
Would-be lovers unraveled their arms and parted ways and
Dreamers no longer looked to the sky.

“The world has gone mad,” I muttered.
“But, at least I have this shiny rock, even if it IS a pain in the rear.”
However, it kept tugging, pulling, and wouldn’t stay still.
Determining it not worth the trouble,
I relinquished the object to the night
And went to dwell in a crazy world.

The Great Collapse

children dying in the global south
we cannot drink oil and gas
coral reefs are dying in the ocean
we cannot eat coal and live
species are facing extinction
he keeps filling his vaults while
children starve from hunger
and diseases spreading like wildfire

this poet finds it preposterous
why should i be afraid of the one in wrong?
to say out loud their names-
the one in power and the one pulling the strings,
its a game of power and money-
an endless hunger of greed,

ecosystems collapsing
forests in fire, cracks in the land,
oceans are toxic and storms wrecking havoc
and the cost is the humanity that we must preserve
our own kind keep pushing their agenda, calling this crisis a hoax
people are dying across the globe
we cannot survive from eating coal

Premium Member Howling Wilderness

In the wind, hear a plaintive, mournful wail.
It is more than a wolf caught in a trap.
It's more than fishing gear catching a whale
and rainforests being wiped from the map.

It is a voice that cannot speak in words.
Across the ages, you discern the moan
of vanishing prairies, buffalo herds,
that's carried by plowed up topsoil, windblown.

Earth's untamed ecosystems we hold dear
are crying softly, asking for our help,
grimly warning that they will disappear.
Like a badly injured dog's dying yelp,

hear the wilderness's last gasping breath,
"Save me from the clench of languishing death".

awin

It's always moving
it never stops
above, below, the earth
...it flows

its fresh or salt or atmospheric
it's energy changes,
at different phases
and still...
...it flows

its evaporation, its condensation
its sublimation too
it can dry or melt
from solid ice
destroyed by man, deforestation
....yet still , it flows

Its ecosystems Euphrates knew,
but l just see it's power.
But from up and down , l see on land
.. it grows ,it knows...it flows

l see a scene, so beautiful
a resting place of calm.
A breathe l take, its heart does ache
..but still... it flows, it flows..it flows

l'll stand and wait
my eyes to drink
the River's glory cries
and knowing how, its power grows
not man, but Word, of God

...it flows,
   it flows,
   it flows.

awin means River in Gaelic Manx launguage from Isle of Man..pronounced

Earth is Dying

Eternity lies within me,

Sharing a gift i see,

Another dance with reality.

How many will there be,

In each I've planted a seed

Before learning what they need.

To move further and lead,

A life I Am proud to leave,

Behind to move ahead.

Traveling galaxies in my head,

Leading me right back here,

This beautiful blue sphere,

And all the Life within her.

Witnessing the damage we incur,

Destroying major Ecosystems,

As she gracefully endures.

A dying future we feel equally,

Filling her with our negativity,

Treating her like our property.

It's disrupted the balance within me,

I return so that you may see,

The importance of your reality.

About the impact you could be,

Understanding the gravity,

Your tied to this cavity.

A body you cant leave,

Your gift to receive,

Believe in your Destiny,

When Earth Dies,

You will no longer be.

Stewards Of Nature

We are Stewards of God's gift
We better protect everything God created
All the creatures in this planet
Have their own specific role to play
Which help the environmental ecosystems
They are all inter related for existing nature.
God has created nothing in this world
Without purpose, but we don't understand them
Natures gifts are alluring and adorable
As we disrespect them
We kill ourselves in a long run
Slowly but constantly
At least human should show
Respect to their own lives
Nature is life God-given, to be nurtured
And gives back man's life in its entirety.

Premium Member Where are We Going?

Hunted, gathered,
Now, humans reign,
Produce emissions -
CO2, methane,

Absorbing heat,
Driving storms,
Breaking all the
Climate norms.

Glaciers retreat,
Ice declines,
Ecosystems
Intertwine.

Coral reefs die as
Tipping points are crossed -
Mass extinctions,
Thawing permafrost.

Collapsing currents,
Can't count on
The rainforests of
The Amazon.

Infectious diseases,
Food and water scarce,
Should have honored
Agreement of Paris.

That's where we're going
But I have no fear.
My kid can worry.
I won't be here.

Credible education
To tell us how.
Behavior, policy -
The time is now.

Ecosystem Heart Failure

See within those starry skies,
Beauty of binding vines,
Fluorescent meaning lies,
In its parting petals spouting lies.

A clams soft pink shell,
Glints in thousand little pearls,
They glide gracefully and swell,
Winding around the rivers swirls.

The white serpents eyes are peach,
Tempting, soft but out of reach,
High up in the turquoise trees,
It's flicker preceding a cool breeze.

The glowing fruits are unfamilar,
No beauty is ever similar,
Eating one would erase the river,
As well as the beautigul glimmer.

The grass shall sustain instead,
The roots of the waters might,
It's coming from the river bed,
And will surely set things right.

The peachy glimmer on waters shell,
Relinquishes its glow for now,
Floras torrent said go back to hell,
No calm waters at this hour.

The grass has grown in your head,
No ecosystems full without fauna,
Water fuels both now one is dead,
Powerful serpent still along a

MINERALS OF AFRICA: A BLESSING OR A CURSE?

Once upon a time, it was our able-bodied kin
Taken or traded for guns' dark din.
To toil in fields, their labour bound
In homes and plants, their freedom drowned.

Then they realized, beneath our ***** soil is grace
Abundant wealth, a bounty to trace.
Our ***** lands gleam of riches of course
Yet as this story unfolds, one wonders, a blessing or curse.

As all the conflicts they made stems from them
All our woes are as a result of them.
Ecosystems suffer, livelihoods wane
A double-edged sword, a loss or a gain?

Diamonds glint, Gold sparkles, the ore a beautiful sight
But their sparkle masks a darker plight.
For our blood has stained their brilliant hue
An unbelievable story yet so true.

We can rewrite our narrative, reshape our story
Reclaiming our past glories.
Where gold and diamond, symbols of pride
No longer shackled by others' tide.

Premium Member Water and Fire

I am your treasured Water, source of life;
Without me, ecosystems could not be.
My oceans, rivers, streams- are full and rife;
But, uncontrolled- can lead to tragedy.

And, I am Fire, your friend or foe Earth form;
As forests age, I burn and recreate.
My flames can cook your food or keep you warm.
Yet, running free may cause a sorry fate.

We two join up to form a balanced gain-
As basic elements of your grand Earth.
While Water hydrates- Fire's warm comforts reign;
Can intertwine all levels- fault or worth.

Two elements among your Earth's grand scheme;
We, Fire and Water offer ups and downs.
Though torch of flames and rushing waters team-
Our happenstances can bring smiles or frowns.

On An Earth Day Like Today

On an Earth Day like today
I see a ray of light and sway.

I perceive a horizon that seeks
and speaks of health and happiness.

That pledges that the food we feast on,
and the water we drink are cheap and safe.

That safeguards that the air we breathe
and the goods we use are as harmless as possible.

On an Earth Day like today
I see a ray of light and sway.

I become wild with positivity and tenacity
when I see practices of rewilding and restoration.

The modest efforts to protect and respect local groups,
vulnerable wildlife and valuable ecosystems and species.

On an Earth Day like today, I plead for the people who seek
to slow the rate of global warming, pollution and deforestation.

Nature

Nature is a symphony of sounds
The rustle of leaves, the chirp of birds
The roar of waves, the whisper of wind
The crackle of fire, the splash of rain

Nature is a palette of colors
The green of grass, the blue of sky
The red of roses, the yellow of sun
The purple of mountains, the white of snow

Nature is a gallery of shapes
The curve of hills, the angle of trees
The spiral of shells, the circle of moon
The square of rocks, the star of flowers

Nature is a teacher of lessons
The patience of seasons, the balance of ecosystems
The diversity of life, the cycle of death and rebirth
The beauty of simplicity, the harmony of complexity

A Dance With Mother Nature

Oh, Mother Nature, teach us to dance
To harmonize and find our balance
In your world of beauty and grace
So we can all thrive in this precious place.

Dance with you in perfect tune
listen to your whispering winds
And the melodies that your creatures sing
Let’s feel you in your fresh and fragrant air

Let’s learn from you, oh Mother divine
To love and cherish, and to be kind
To all the creatures that call you home
And the ecosystems that make you known

Let us dance to the beat of your heart
And find balance in every part
Of your world, so beautiful and rare
A precious place we must all learn to share

Teach us to see the value in your gifts
And to cherish each moment as it drifts
Remind us that we’re just a small part
Of your grand design, a work of art

Oh, Mother Nature, we need your guidance
As we strive to find a better balance
Let us dance in step with your natural flow
And embrace your beauty, wherever we go.

Flower Garden

In hay-sweet evening air, crimson reds dotted around. Beautiful scented flowers on the ground.
The poplar tree sways in the summer grace, it's such a heavenly place.
Swathes of bluebells thick and long. I can hear the birds flutter, in a whirl of colour as they sing their song. Reds and yellows in the trees, such a beautiful breeze. As summer races away.

Exquisite ecosystems buzzing with amazing creatures. Mother nature adores all
her unique features. Viridescent trees accommodate colourful birds. Scented flowers smile while enamanting love. They blossom with help from above, as summer races away.
