Beliefs doublethink
or else we will sink
in gloom
and soul’s light will shrink,
so concepts rethink
and groom
head and heart to link,
allowing love’s blink
some room.

Let us not presume
that joy will resume
unless
we let bliss beats zoom,
whence love petals bloom
to bless
form that does entomb
soul in divine womb
caress.

The time’s not to guess
but simply undress
fear chink,
by craving for less
to exit the mess
we ink
that we may progress,
love and light access,
uplink.

Narrow belief systems,
speak of a wrathful God,
who will burn us in hell
if we question scriptures
or ring not temple’s bell.

Narrow belief systems,
preying on heart’s fears are
fundamentalistic;
a bundle of falsehood,
defied by the mystic.

Narrow belief systems,
warn of soul’s damnation
in case we don’t comply,
daring to so question,
what, when, who, how or why.

Narrow belief systems,
entertain not dissent,
cultivating yes-men,
who know not how to pray ~
surely, an ill-omen.

Doublethink Beliefs

Doublethink belief beginning
With both hands folded
God's name chanting
Bells musically chorded

We have been taught
All are equal before almighty
Keep clean thoughts
No one else is more mighty

Doublethink belief once again
New identity new land
Past memories can't be regained
Now praying with open hands

Divergent customs and rituals
Mankind have faith in God
Learned to be spiritual
No one is greater than lord

Doublethink belief made us divided
All are one before deity
We have to live united
Surrender to God with fealty

1. My life now’s not too spiritual although
I grew up Christian, for I do not go
to any church. I really do not care
about religion. I believe in prayer!
I talk to God and Know that He loves me,
but certain things I don’t take seriously.
Perhaps for that, the thing that I most crave
I will not find before I’m in the grave!

2. My next life – could it be that I am born
into another universe and torn
from all my memories of life on earth?
My new life here is sorely lacking mirth.
In this new culture, like a slave I live
with rules and rites! With bitterness I give
my time while exercising no free will.
With gloom and soberness my soul does fill.

3. Rewind – “and as my breath flows here and now”*
I’m overjoyed, and I don’t have to bow
to things I don’t believe in, for I need
to choose, but I do not fall prey to greed.
I’m satisfied with what God’s given me
and very grateful simply to be free.
No evil can destroy my thinking mind.
I’m true to me, and always I’ll be kind.

We’re taught to pray but yet see not the light
It’s said God lives somewhere up in the sky
Why eludes us rapture of bliss delight

Born into bondage, this life itself a blight
Told to follow rules, without asking why
We’re taught to pray but yet see not the light

Future lives promise us spherical sight
Fanciful dreams, for which we need to die
Why eludes us rapture of bliss delight

Exiting mind games, we give up the fight
Vicarious knowledge is a big lie
We’re taught to pray but yet see not the light

Silence ushers joy, of zenith like height
Desires cease, as we bid ego goodbye
Why eludes us rapture of bliss delight

We see God’s halo within, shining bright
Suffused with love divine, we cease to sigh
We’re taught to pray but yet see not the light
Why eludes us rapture of bliss delight

I
am
who I
am because
I was born here, where...
where Christianity rooted
and thrives, by insisting it is the true religion.
It is almost impossible to break away from that early religious training.

I
find
myself
living in
another culture
where I accept a new truth taught
which helps me make my way through this new, strange future life.
I am happiest knowing that I am at peace with myself, with others, and with God.

I
come
back now
to this life,
this state of being
a happier person, knowing
a peace that is common to all the world's great people
living, loving, and worshipping in peace with their own concepts of everlasting life.

This Life

Christ with His blood has purchased me
I’m saved by grace through faith
Chained by His love, I’m now set free
Doing as His Word saith

He is my Hope, the Cross, my stay
He’s washed me from all sins
He is the Truth, the Life, the Way
In Him, new life begins

My Next Life

When I die here*, I’ll live with Him
Where there will be no tears
There will be on my lips, a hymn
No pain, hunger, or fears

Eternity spent with my Lord
Singing His praises loud
Joyful living with one accord
With angels ‘bove the cloud

As My Breath Flows, Here and Now

Today, I live to spread Christ’s love
Of what He did for me
So you too can join me above
When our Saviour we see

His death on the Cross, not in vain
If you accept Him now
Salvation, this life’s greatest gain
If only you’ll allow.

Doublethink Beliefs

Get uncertain, fast.
I remember some, not much.
Clovers sweet and sour

puckering my lips
for the zing of existence,
my sour sweet mouth

always wanting more.
Nimbus clouds float by above,
soon there will be rain.

~~~
I hate coming back
so many grieving people,
only I feel it.
On the porch at night
I sit thinking of nothing
I am not lonely.
Blue moon in the pond
across from the running crick,
Look! deer in the street.
~~~

Sunrise, a pink bloom
brief, like the morning glory,
orange clouds settle.

Doublethink belief origin
We pray ten times a day
Where lies pristinity virgin
Why do blue skies seem grey

Life flows in shallow grooves
Lips recite, nothing moves
Heart fits not, scriptures shoes

Marooned on a reef
Doublethink belief

~~~
Doublethink belief, a new script
We incarnate again
Rituals, with similar drift
Bound by another chain
We wish not to make fuss
But what’s in it for us
We’ve again missed the bus
Anoint a new chief
Doublethink belief
~~~

Doublethink belief, where’s the light
Are we but feeble form
Why eludes us, blissful delight
Seems suffering the norm

Aligning thought, word, deed
Step by step, desires weed
Touch of God, our soul’s need

Alleviate grief

Doublethink Beliefs

Oppressed and forced
Religion never fed my soul
Hammering out the dents
That made me unique

Shiny scriptures to justify
The genocide of the “unclean”
Savages stripped of their identity
Found laid to rest in forgotten graves

Religion never fed my soul
But
It opened my eyes to the universe

~ ~ ~

What lessons will I master
In my next cycle?
Be kinder?
Be ruthless?

Whoever pulls the strings
I trust their judgement
A feather on the air

~ ~ ~
Life flows out of me
I watch as the seeds I
Given birth to
Beaming with pride
Of whom they will become

Doublethink belief, boon or bane
Environ conditions
Know that map is not the terrain
Narrowness imprisons

Here, now ego decry
Begin, by asking ‘why’
Free like birds, in the sky

Let’s give soul relief
Doublethink belief

~~~
Doublethink belief, we’re reborn
Halfway across the world
Memory erased, beliefs shorn
Yet bubbling joy, unfurled
The same sun shines on all
Hark the divine love call
Manifest as bliss squall
Ego ploy the thief
Doublethink belief
~~~

Doublethink belief, stop thought flow
Stillness ushers deep calm
Once heart mellow, we feel soul glow
God’s touch the healing balm

Each form, Holy Spirit
Judge not fault or merit
Walk path of truth with grit

Let’s turn a new leaf
