Premium MemberThe Distance Between Us

The distance between you all and I can be so painful
Sitting in traffic to be with you can be so meaningful
It's a bitter sweet feeling though to live so far away
Our hearts would grow fonder each and every day
Using social network to read what you have to say
You encourage me virtually when my skies are grey
While spending time with you I didn't feel insecure
You're the type of friends I need to help me to endure
We were hurting and we helped our hearts to mend
The time I spent with you is time I didn't want to end
To spend time with you again in the future is a must
I love you guys although there's distance between us

Premium MemberSisters In Poetry

Two sisters born afar from my terrain
one rising near Taj Mahal ‘s glorious dome ,
another hopping on lanes of maple trees;
still, poetry traces their heartfelt rays
enduring continental divide
like silken wishes on angel cheeks
plying on a relay of starlit skies...
One a sweetened Jasmine utterly
devoid of night's umbra, ohh the other,
a peppered Cinder sizzling with
the sun's baked fireglow.

And though zones of time differ
in paddles of midnight’s arm stretched,
laughter and whispers scoop bowls
of friendship wild and lucent as dawn;
touching me through live words in a gathering
of images warmer than moon's crawl.

I fold my eyes on sands of hourglass
blowing winged kisses to miles distant
yet, near in the ingot of affection’s graces.

Among the Distance

Two friends among the distances
One is red and one is blue
Uniting despite the fights
The colors choose to fuse

Purple is a pretty color
It's the color we should be
Martin Luther didn't die
Rosa Parks didn't cry
For us to live separately

I love my neighbors, red and blue
Black, mixed and white
Men, women, other, too
I love whoever you are, too

To my friend among the distance
I'd like to thank you
For loving me just the same
For loving both red and blue

Buddy

There goes my buddy, out the door.

I did not see her all day
and it did not cause any downpour.

As she leaves,
she nods and smiles from the distance,
sincere and sure, and somehow
that moment
makes her my buddy, even more.

Long Distance Affair

You're far in my hand
But very close to my heart
Yet, ready to bond.

Distance

Distance

I was four and so were you.
You live there, and I live there too.
For seven years passing, living here,
Your face can't be seen anywhere.

I was twelve and so were you.
You live there, and I live there too.
Living this long, still can't find you,
Creating your own life, shaping mine too.

I was seventeen and so were you.
You live there, still living there too.
Passing your way, I never knew,
There is someone new to me, it’s true.

I am eighteen and so are you.
You live there, sure I know.
Though a short distance, it felt so far,
I finally found you, there you are!

Premium MemberSong of Distance

Let the song of distance flow
With no words and notes
Just a hum of undertow
Swaying empty boats
Why do you ignore me
Am I such a pain?
That you cannot hear and see
Tolerate again
That strange person on the screen
“Oh for goodness sake
All that stories of his kin
Numerous mistakes
What a waste of time, and what
Does he want from me?”
Maybe one forget-me-not
That you cannot see.
Play for me, my love, you can
Use me like you want
Or forget me, if again
I’m too much a haunt
There’s a shadow on the wall
From another world
Sound of a distant call
That you hadn’t heard
Sing alone, you’re soon to bed
Cause it’s far too late
So a time a bit too bad
To communicate.

Aching Heart

Indigestion
Is the question
Brain illusion
Or misdirection

Doctor's pill
This sickly ill
Cannot repair
To fit the bill

Just time to heal
Oh, heartache feel
Is all to quell
My ache and reel

Restlessness
Just to confess
Invades my very
Consciousness

A hope that sticks
Physician's tricks
The long-shot risk
Of one more fix

Like fracture weld
Or soulful meld
Simple solution..
Just to be held

my foreign friend and I will never meet in person
we both know it,
our written correspondence is enough
we can read each other’s hearts,
and love each other always

The Embrace

The Embrace

Four Arms interlocking
Enveloping bodies, five
Ten minutes,
These eyes have longed been so close
 Twenty-five years,
Now they can’t let go
Bodies exchanging nonverbal pleasantries,
Distant memories
Rushes in,
Keeping the embrace solid.

No one notices
The clouds floating by,
When twilight falls,
With guarded reluctance
Their arms are relaxed,
Returning to their Nine to five,
Separated once more
By oceans deep and wide,
And hearts will long once again
For another embrace.

Not Far, the Long Distance Friend

Call
me:
do not just think of me!
Write me:
do you think of me?!

Along the forget me nots,
is friendship,
a friendship:
that they once knew.

She watches romantic pornographic videos
and feels guilty,
over the phone.

The Long Distance Is Like That Between the Neighbors

In the land of Qin kingdoms does the capital lie,
While the Shu State looms far away in the mist.
We share the same feelings when we say goodbye,
For we both are in the same local official list.
So long as we remain bosom friends anyhow,
The long distance is like that between the neighbors.
At the crossroad we are going to separate now;
Please don't shed tears like sentimental youngsters.

Contact Is Hope

Walk with me, although your hand
Extends through strands of wire
Beaded with thorns; be careful now
But let us walk

Talk with me, although your words
Must pass through cords of steel
Binding these limbs; be careful now
But let us talk

Sing with me, although your song
Sounds faint through walls of stone
Keeping us apart; be careful now
But let us sing.
