Distance

Distance

I was four and so were you.
You live there, and I live there too.
For seven years passing, living here,
Your face can't be seen anywhere.

I was twelve and so were you.
You live there, and I live there too.
Living this long, still can't find you,
Creating your own life, shaping mine too.

I was seventeen and so were you.
You live there, still living there too.
Passing your way, I never knew,
There is someone new to me, it’s true.

I am eighteen and so are you.
You live there, sure I know.
Though a short distance, it felt so far,
I finally found you, there you are!

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup, Kababayan. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
