Master of Shadows

a master of suspense, a teller of dread
he wove his tales where shadows tread
with cameras rolling and stories tight
he painted fear in the blackest light

a train in the night, a stranger’s glance
he’d twist the ordinary into a dance
of danger lurking, unseen yet near
the thrill of the unknown, the taste of fear

a flock of birds, once harmless, now dire
a shower curtain veils the assassin’s fire
his genius lay in the slow, sharp tease
making hearts race with the faintest breeze

oh, hitchcock, maestro of cinema’s art
you gripped our minds, played with our hearts
each twist, each turn, a crafted delight
your tales still haunt, in the dimmest night

with wit and wisdom, a master’s touch
you showed us thrillers could be so much
not just blood, but the psyche’s maze
a storyteller’s crown, forever ablaze

What Went Wrong

When submerged in sorrow's sea,
Why reject a helping hand?
A broken sparrow, fragile be,
Alone, you cannot stand.

Somewhere along the winding way,
In the darkest night, the dimmest day,
A realization softly spoke,
In solitude, the heart awoke.

To weep alone, a sign of might,
Yet sharing tears feels not quite right.
To show that weakness, to confess,
Is to reveal I'm powerless.

Witless

Their clueless inane fangs of reed
Strive to bite what's made of steel;
Deriding the stronger sinew of virtue
They cling onto feeble foibles untrue.

To headache more reasonable head
Is the very principal aim they're bred...
These pithy bothersome numbskulls
Coined with dimmest grasp that lulls.

Level of Concouness

Borders Galashiels and Peebles
Sycamore Gap By Hadrian's Wall stood a sycamore tree
m cut it down for a world to see. Maybe the shoots will resprout
we heard an angler say.

Her smiled signaled her excitement
she was eager to reveal
something more than elegant
a cloth would conceal
startled by it's
magnificents
I gasped upon the sight
the exquisite beauty
an antiqued technique
 liked distressed it shines
in the dimmest of light
nighttime does it best
The Hadrian Sycamore
a well storied detail
she used the natural of night
it secrets she would reveal

They crafted a picture frame
on each corner was a
scarlet red
the shimmering golded hue
each corner brightened
with red
it glory stems
from the crafters sorted works
the grooves of embossing
carved with an artisains detail
again the night
sold the peice some wanders to conceal
all strangers of this
aren't as novice as they seem
the stuff of story
sort of like a dream

True Love

True love is like an ambering blaze of light
that shines so bright even if the cloud is rough;
In rainy days it shines so clear and so bright
to bring the hearts a tasteful of smile and laugh;
Its radiance sways even the dimmest light
to believe in miracles when times are tough;
For faithful love can withstand all tests of time;
True lovers are poems that forever rhyme.

Shining Hope

Hope shining, glittering, shimmering bright,
Enchant me with your flashing, blinking light,
Make me believe that my broken, busted heart,
Can have a fresh, brand new start.

You’re my only light out of this bottomless fortress;
Guide my ascend from the looming deepness;
Rescue me from the claws of darkness;
Save my heart that agonizes in sadness.

For in the midst of blinding gloominess
Where my soul can’t see the path to redemption
Even your dimmest light can liberate
My throbbing heart from incarceration.

Premium MemberThe Last Glimmer of Light

The last glimmer of light fades away,
into the darkening gloom of night.
Bringing about the end of the day.
Another will begin at first light.

Night has taken its place,
to rule the hours before dawn.
Creeping into every space,
where light has since withdrawn.

A silvery gray mist fills the air,
ghostly apparitions appear.
The darkness they willingly share,
enfolding and drawing you near.

Sounds fade, unable to follow,
the day surrenders to the night.
A promise to return with tomorrow,
growing louder, as dim becomes bright.

The night, offering a safe haven to hide,
surrounds with a warm embrace.
The dimmest light, will be denied.
till morning gently touches your face.

Young Heart In Bloom

You are a reflection
In the mirror of my imagination
A pure young heart in bloom
That plays a lovely tune

Like a candle in complete darkness
That glows to give the only light
Your radiance, full of brightness
Tames the dimmest blight

I wish this heart was that fresh
So I could take my chances
So the gloomy heart that falters
Will see hope in your caress

But we are light-years away
Like the distance in our history
So all that I can play
Is a sweet track in your memory

Premium MemberThree Bawdy Limericks I Wish I Hadn'T Written

A progressive mother across the street
Taught her twelve-year-old how to beat his meat
Gave him a graphic lesson,
She was proudly confessin’
In ways, I think, this mother hard to beat.

When the time comes get right down to it
Having a good poop is a fine sit
Quite relaxing, in fact,
Once you get the knack
Ten minutes is a jolly good sh*t.

A boy in Winchester rubbed it raw
I think, frankly, that practice takes some gall
As a doctor I grimaced,
This young lad was the dimmest
That day of all the young patients I saw.

Premium MemberRomantic Desire

Unmask the night and let love transpire
to feel a warm kiss from love's wondrous face
and enjoy the night's romantic desire
when passionate fingers will slowly trace
in dimmest light of night, love will fulfill
treasured memories time cannot erase
when a moon's soft glow falls on lovers still
to paint a silhouette when two embrace
in quiet longing reveal their consent
as they whisper sighs from love's siren song
until time has slowed to show love's intent
and drift away to where lovers belong
this breathless warm universe they adore
two prisoners of love forevermore

Premium MemberThe Night Witches

Night witches own the dark, as they sweep the skies on their knotted broomsticks. They take to flight, in pairs, on the waxing moon or new moons, when the sky is darkest, the stars at their dimmest and gloom the deepest. They steal souls, drink warm blood, gather teeth and fresh, human meat.

They drift, smoke-like, with noir-intent, chewing their charcoal treats in that imperfect silence that prickles with all the sounds of the earth: growing plants, creeping insects, rustling leaves, and shivering birds.

Although their stygian laughter is frequently mistaken for cat fighting, they are soundless, becoming the shadows that disturb, that draw startled glances from the periphery of vision.

In their dark-passing, a mother will check her sleeping children one more time - dogs will whimper and fathers, the hair on their neck standing, will check already-locked windows.

Are you meandering out this night - to walk the dog or check the mail? If so, look to the sky. A little decision can be the worst mistake of your life.

Premium MemberAfter I Write

After I write something,
to the best of my ability,
not ever putting my name
on a work I am not proud
of – yet, I pause to say,
Thank you...pleased to have
been blessed with a tiny role
in the production. Come
now! You don't actually think
that you stand apart, alone,
unguarded, unprotected,
entirely self-driven and
self-directed? Not a star
could keep its place in the
sky without the support of
its surrounding dark. What
light we have, what light
we show, is a soulful theme
burning in the heart of its
Universe. Miraculous Passion
is where we all began – the
spark of even our dimmest
perspectives.

Wait On You

I will wait on you till the sun sets upon the earth, and day gives way to night.

I will wait patiently, to guide your steps out of the dimmest of light.

When dawn breaks, and the sun rises again, I will look for you once again.

I will stay with you, both night and day, and I promise never to allow you to loose your way.

I declare I am your refuge, I am your quiet space.

I am the love you deserve and dreamed about, the one your souls seeks out.

I am, the “her” that is here to stay, the “her” that just doesn’t walk away.

I will wait on you, till day gives way to the night, and the sky turns blue.

I will always be here, waiting on my turn to love you.
