The spin, for control.
Manipulation of truth,
intent to divide!

The devious dog slides in the mud
Landing with a big thud
As he raises, he shakes off
Then quickly, he takes off
Chasing the curious cat
Who stole his owner’s hobby hat
Up the tremendous tree it goes
He can’t follow the curious cat knows
A billy bird screeched
As the curious cat reaches
With his long curved claw
Away from the devious dog’s jaw
Bark, Bark, Bark
Meow, Meow, Meow
Then came a loud sound
Causing silence all around
With a shout, the devious dog rebounds
Running towards his master’s sound
The curious cat purrs with relief
Curls up in the tremendous tree to sleep

I found a crooked dollar
and hired a crooked lawyer
to pursue a crooked case
before a judge to place,
but we found no crooked court,
however hard we sought,
but as long as we keep looking,
we'll keep the cauldron cooking.

Never have I ever chose a love so fine
As that day I chose to call you mine
Sunny was that day when I picked you up at Tractor Supply
Though I'm sorry to your sister you had to say goodbye
Unfortunately another was quicker to the phone
And she was off to another home
But lucky for me
Because I don't think I could handle both you and she
For my darling, Bucky
You aren't always a relaxing cup of tea
At first you didn't like to go out to pee
But once you figured out the dog door, my heart was filled with glee
We slept on the couch when you were too little to climb the stairs
Now you can get to my room and my stuff is strewn everywhere
Also thanks to you
I owe everyone in the house a new pair of shoes
I wish someone had warned me about how much little puppies actually like to chew
I just can't keep up with you no matter how many toys I buy brand new
But still I try because you're mine
The devious little puppy I got for Valentine's

A sly chef name of Dan, for a dare,
Made a hot chili pepper éclair.
When his 'ex' took a bite,
Dan declared with delight:
‘There you go again, blowing hot air!’

The object of my affection without exception
Is rhyming words of silliness but sometimes conception
The latter here's taboo
So here's what I'll do
Combine witty and naughties, quite a devious deception

Dependable, DogDeanie was deliriously dainty, despicably delightful,
And delicately but duplicitously decorated, by dubious Darwin, who
Depended on DogDeanie to deliver delectable, delicious, dorm dolls
To Darwin’s Downtown Dogdom, or Darwin’s Delightful Dog Deiicacies.
Darwin’s double dog-nesses, where he displayed daring deeds,
Dedicated to DogMaestro, DogDeanie’s dashing Daddy, whose Derby
Was desperately downright dog-famous at both duplex businesses,
Darwin’s Downtown Dogdom and Darwin’s Delightful Dog Delicacies.

How quickly the pivot point flips and flops,
like a see-saw tipping from side to side.
As soon as you start to win the debate
the focus veers to a new direction
towards the oblivious distraction,
to ease the pain that intense thought can cause,
or the humiliation of defeat.
If you're in trouble, change the topic slightly
away from what's known to unknown terrain
to "Yes, But" and "What about" and "How Come".
Such subtle diversions create mayhem
deviously dragging the plot away
to irrelevancies and bogus tracks,
to oblivious irresolution.
Obliterate the devious diversions tricks
especially aspersions about you.
Learn to recognize the signs beforehand.
Learn how to lever the game back on the track,
Guard against oblivion's trap door.
Learn to stay vigilant, on track with what you know about.
For diversion to ignorance is oblivious bliss.

Sure hope I get by the censors with this one
Did you hear about the sweetie who fell on her bum
Some guys grabbed her private places
Helped her up, grins on their faces
What glorious heroes these kind men did become

I never knew I could meet a more devious person and I have met
Their so hateful and self centered that I do fret,
Not knowing what devious ways and all they seek
Does kind of worry me because they like to peek,
At all my face book pages and then go on attack
With a devious blog or post to see how I react,
It is sick and devious the way they play mind games
The sad thing is the devious person has no shame.

Livid I was when that nincompoop
stained that page of my book
with tomato sauce, while eating
oh! How horrible! How horrible!
It was just a little dot but still;
definitely not easy to tolerate,
since I am a bibliophile,
enamoured with poetry and essays,
being my idols William Topaz McGonagall
and the Irish-speaker Robert Wilson Lynd!
Oh! It was just a little stain which
blurred no text, made nothing illegible,
but still! My anger ceases not
and I call that man a true clown!

To think this girl someone I used to admire
I ask was it not obvious or was I just lame?
Little did I know she'd turn out to be a lire
Because devious was her real name
She had a look that was never misleading
And a smile well, I'm sure I'm not the only guy
Just another of those that she had believing
Still every once in a while I ask myself why
I'd always have to hide what I was feeling
Though with her always felt like a mile high
When I think about her lies and scheming
Well their is certainly no denial the fool was I
And this girl who once filled me with desire
But oblivious to her constant mind game
Someone who always liked to fuel your fire
Because devious was her real name
Written September 1999 about an exgirlfriend
Just updated switched words around a little
This is like a part one to web of deceit

A viscous heart, a liar
A mind of hatred
She’s hurtful, untrustworthy
Nothing is fervid
It’s all in her eyes
She is very devious
Heartless terrorize
