Struggling With Life

By now my perception,
so naive and derisive
going beyond intention,
should have changed;
blemishes spoil this appearance,
they are worse than any word said
to hurt and humiliate with vengeance:
sling no stones, no threats to shield!

I got through many hurdles,
they posed hard challenges...
and struggling with life I can say,
" I'm prouder than anybody. "
What held me back was constant fear:
how painful was to see all disappear!

I looked up and saw the grayest clouds,
soon it would be raining for eternal, dreary hours;
much sadness they brought with their darkness:
I couldn't find shelter into anybody's arms!

Struggling with life is wrestling with God,
it's the hardest fight ever fought;
nobody wins and we surely resent defeat:
we blame fate and cry out loud...
not appreciating what we have freely received,
and shunning what's good, we embrace deceit!

Does Love Surpass All Miracles

Everything said, everything thought and done
is stored in the subconsciousness of a memorable tune;
a whole life was spent in search of gratification,
of that sweetheart to convert this restless dreamer
to love, to show his amorous and changeless affection
in ways that eloquently expressed the exquisite art of lover!

Does love surpass all miracles doubtingly conceived
in the credulous mind, expecting thrills and kisses
in form of heavenly bliss, or a fulfillment of greed?
The wisher of resonant allusions was entirely convinced
to succeed with his cunning by offering petty gifts
to entrap the feeblest heart used to sweet whispers!

Who loves the drama of a tragic end in any somber narrative?
Of course, the joker with a hilarious and derisive laughter!
Does he care that what he says is no offense to provoke anger
in the jeering crowd that mocks him for being insensitive?

My honor was fairly, amply given and adamantly received,
I have left no murmuring lips in suspense; dear Heaven: my honesty
wasn't derided but perceived well and sealed in their endeared memory!
Precious inamorata, love surpasses all miracles as mine did!

Gold Bitten

"Gold Bitten"

delinquent minds
call the creative in
gold bitten terror bites

he thinks he’s a poet
she thinks of other things
not so equivalent

she thinks she’s a brevity
he believes he’s a harlequin
the point mute and hammered in

golden words delivered
shining against the banished burnished
flowing in the unleashed freedom

up from the depths
some kind of risen,
coldly removed, poetically bitten

unmistakably
apples rolled, stark competition
outrun, yet golden

monster
loved, and
monster driven

where did you come from beautiful?
the question derisive, velvet tones,
moss hidden

From the depths of it all,
she responds,
from the dead, risen

(LadyLabyrinth/2023)

terabyte.
"The prefix tera is derived from the Greek word for monster"...
brevity.
harlequin.
apples. ;)

Premium MemberPaper

My first A for Apple was written on you, dear paper,
How gladly I scribbled on you with colorful crayons!
I erase what is written, lo, things change like a vapor,
No metal could be compared with you, yet... gold silver, or bronze...!

Like a vine in the wine-presser, lo, pains you undergo,
How immaculately white, yet, you come out very neat;
When I found you first I was taken up by your grand glow,
The first poem I wrote on you, my friends said, was so sweet...!

I use you, I just know that you are very submissive,
Like a  servant humbly, yet, willingly, serves his master;
Words written on you are good once; other times derisive,
Your pages, everyone knows, make peace; also bring disaster...!

You have been encompassing yourself in this world so wide,
You are as white as the white wool; you have nothing to hide...!!!

Premium MemberPositifically Negative

Today I've decided
Not to be misguided
By negative feelings
I'm sick to the teeth
Of feelings of grief
Overpowering and revealing

My negative approach
Requires a coach
So my thoughts
Are more decisive
Negativity you see
It is of no use to me
I think it is derisive

So I will try today
To throw negativity away
And be a more positive person
If negativity creeps in
I'll throw it in the bin
Telling it I have an aversion

I may have left it too late.
To illuminate
My mind into positive thinking
I do not feel that strong
It hasn't been long
Before my positive thoughts
Start shrinking

Alas and Alack
Please hurry back
My thinking is getting hazy
I've had enough
Of this philosophical stuff
My negativity has driven me crazy

Premium MemberRetreat

A world gone mad
where up is down
and logic flees

A child discerns
but not the fool
enchanted by
his party’s stripe

The lady, blind
a thumb weighs heavy
on her scales

High, hubris reigns
over the now
unable to recall
the recent past
or to consider the effects
it sets in motion
for the day
that comes

To rage
to rail against
these circumstances
out of reach
out of control
enjoins one to
this company of fools

Retreat
into the solitude and peace
that is the quiet life
cut off from all the noise

For He who sits on high
derisive, laughs with scorn
at those who would be king

Wind Peacefully Soft

Wind peacefully soft
Begins to steadily waft;
Life is colorful,
The Next Man wonderful.

Security is stable,
Killers uncomfortable;
Their aforethought readable,
Every move predictable.

Where there could’ve been riot,
The clamorous are quiet;
No more of The Abusive,
Less of the Laughter Derisive.

Evil is no more presentable
Nor vice understandable;
Nature keeps image rebranding
At corners Angels standing!

Premium MemberLove Is a Garden

An apple a day keeps the doctor away;
But hugs are the best for your heart.
They say all is fair in love and in war,
But fair can keep lovers apart.

Normal’s a setting on washing machines,
But love is extraordinaire.
So don’t let the sun set on anger or spite;
Apologize gently, with care.

“It ain’t broke, don’t fix it” might go for a car,
But love is an ongoing work.
Measure twice, cut once, take care what you say,
‘Cuz love doesn’t suffer a jerk.

Culture’s what grows in the back of the fridge;
For love, you must cultivate.
Absence, they say, makes the heart grow fonder,
But presence is truly what sates.

Some idiot thought fear was better than love;
For that, there’s derisive laughter.
They say that one’s pride comes before the big fall,
But lawyers come shortly thereafter.

A horse led to water can’t be made to drink,
But roses can go a long way.
“You reap what you sow” should give one pause to think,
Attend to your love every day!

Some say love’s euphoric, it intoxicates,
But a love that is real, it seems,
Is a garden that’s tended to every day,
Not some blissful escape of your dreams.

Premium MemberThis Wandering Mind

How shall I deal with this wandering mind?
Meandering through a meadow of ideas,
Seeking truth among noxious weeds I find

Since early childhood I have been curious
Always sifting through my brain’s cogitations
Accepting new concepts; discarding previous,

Tossing thoughts like a machine’s agitations
Chewing on choices of words, so indecisive,
Practicing precise grammar with conjugations.

Fending off debaters who are often derisive
Debunking theories that sound far-fetched,
While trying not to be obnoxiously divisive.

How far should an agile mind be stretched?
Let it go unchallenged and it becomes static
Drifts into rumor, relishes meaningless kvetch.

I choose to allow my mind access to the attic,
Considering all the randomness that intrudes
To avoid, as much as I can, becoming dogmatic!

Premium MemberChild Psychology

I don't mean to be dismissive 'Whatever you think'
but some parents are much too 'You kids decide'
                                            permissive 'What could go wrong?'
The kids often turn out derisive ~ 'No skin off our backs'
their folks, you surprised? so submissive 'Have it your way'

The Scatheless Soul

Unseen but ubiquitous,
Savage and surreal,
If not curated but contagious,
Annihilative and aerial,

Then lurking, now loose,
You are the silent stone sepulchre,
Tangling, tormenting; transient truce,
An asphyxiating, aggravating and apocalyptic aperture,

You might among countless thriving throng induce fear,
Cause bountiful bouts of darkness and despair,
You might perhaps possess lives of mankind in multitudes,
Cripple economies and ravage revenues.

Say, can you cease the blowing of wildly winds?
Say, can you banish a bridal blush or a child’s caprice?
Say, can you hold the hanker of a koel for its lilting lyrics, while it sings?
Say, can you shackle the Sun, or rob its rays with your bitter malice?

You are nothing but an atomic annihilator, a sombre spree,
In vain you strive to rule over our spirits free,
We would surmount all sufferings and decimate your derisive decree.

Hiatus

I had a dream to dissolve my body
Into harmony and song.
Not to be appraised course or consequence,
But the ecstasy for which I long.

I’d seen sparks pique, however, now they taunt
Ere each breath, each glare guts me.
I’ve been left to wonder, will passion pass,
Or will destiny cage the free?

Physical facades that guzzled my breath—
I loathed am’rous transactions—
Abandoned me gasping, grasping for air.
Throttled, I lay in satisfaction.

For today I gazed on as swarms of flies
Amassed stale, dead to the floor
Induced, I grin, inhale seriatim
Plaguing every lung, every pore.

For salt and terror could never hatch wood,
And doors are never undone.
Time festered and birthed a derisive spring
Which befell the immolated sun.

Resolute In Rage

Embittered winter
indignant
spreads rancor
erudite in malice.

Irreverent arbitrate
derisive
disdains masses
sardonic in verse.

Vengeful slayer
belligerent
inflicts brutality
pitiless in wrath.

Steadfast rime
unyielding
immovable blight
resolute in rage.
