and salted sarcasm
just like the air
I forgot was there
I always needed you
Mermaids laugh
at my cutting semantics
and manic mannerisms
on calloused rocks,
because they miss
the texture of sound
They listen better
than two-legged fools
Everything has limits
This house has 90 degree walls
This mocking bird will tire eventually
These words keep a flat straight line
This skin keeps the blood inside
warmer than love
Break through Ben,
even if I hit the ceiling of Heaven,
break it down, Ben
Break it down
Cynics must show wrath;
Still, we need to overcome,
With our utmost might.
Your outlook colours your world
Cynicism is no way to move forward
Bite into life with optimism

The complete loss of naivety doesn’t necesseraly lead
To cynicism cause it would be too dramatic
Its just a usual way of life
As it is, no naivety, no cynicism
Though you’d like to have them in stock
Just in case you’d need some of it again
But the problem is, sellers are gone
Those good sellers, who could get anything you wanted
Some of them have become state officials
Others have converted to Buddhism
And a few have delved deep into the sweet dullness
Of privacy in the countryside homes
But sooner or later you realize
That you own them for free
Naivety and cynicism
Absolutely like new, here they are
Well shaped, exquisitely elegant
With a little leaf on the ends
Looking exactly like the earrings we bought you last summer
You can wear them again, why not
No one will notice, what these items are
They’d only see the earrings.
The Cynicism Trap
apathetic engaged
withdrawn open, free
distrusting entrusting
pessimistic feeling hopeful in outlook
always expects failure ahead strives onward for success
skeptic about the future to come altruistic in hope for the future
selfishness, deceitful, dishonest truthful, honest, cooperative
emotionally detached, withdrawn engaged, committed, sharing
gives up easily, becomes inactive resilient, determined to stay on
alone, stifling creativity and connections encourages partnerships, joint efforts
In photos we smile, we appear happy
even if we feel kind of crappy
‘Pictures don’t lie’ – likely not true
kind of like ‘Darling, I love you'
im playing cards with pandora
and she’s bleeding her hand
its so painfully obvious
i see her grand plan,
because calamities hit a set
and she’s feeling alright
but theres one card left
im holding hope tonight
and its hope which
keeps me in this game,
im bankroll backed
no matter the pain
that might come
from losing it all
im in too deep
not prepared to fall
the scripture clearly indicates
what one should do in this place
step 1
admit you’re powerless
you cant fight demons which dont exist
step 2
find someone who
can save you and set your free
step 3
give up again,
find your god and pray to them
step 4
im getting tired of this
pray for strength to resist
temptations which prick and poke
nerve endings, sending signals
to the brain, wanting more
needing pain,
write it down, find where it hurts
tell us all how you’re the worst
step 5
step 6
step up
who gives a
you wont resist
until your hope ceases to exist
CYNIC
He was Dean of the university’s
College of Creative Malfeasance,
including the Schools of Business,
Law, Information Technology, Marketing,
Economics, Theology and International
Relations!
His son was more sinister
He was a minister in the
Church of Confederate Christianity,
a denomination that is anti-family,
anti-immigrant, anti-democratic,
anti-Semitic, racist, pro-gun
and absolutely pro-life, perpetually
in the courts, perpetually in the news
and social media, perpetually in your face
a rising case of rape and incest,
a danger to our lives, an acute
health problem, requiring
an abortion!
WE LIVE IN AN INTERESTING TIME
He was Dean of the university’s

including the Schools of Business,

Theology and International Relations!
His son was more sinister
He was a minister in the
Church of Confederate Christianity,
a denomination that is pro-life
but anti-family!
Human beings are displayed beside the dinosaurs
in the museum built by cockroaches...
little did we know when we were around
that they would evolve to become the earth's stewards...
and do a much better job.
Cynicism
Written: by Miracle Man

I’m at the place in life where a cynic has emerged,
I’ve been taken so often other’s words are tainted.
I seek inner peace that these feelings would be purged,
but, until then, it is what it is, with reality I’m acquainted.
I remember a time when man’s word was his bond,
now a gaggle of lawyers have replaced the handshake.
But today is the result that elapsed time has spawned,
and as time drags on, is our existence at stake?
The cynic says, “one man can’t do anything.”
I say, “only one man can do anything.”
One man acting creatively with others
can move the world,
John W. Gardner
we awaken
for a moment
to remember
all that was sacrificed.
then, one by one
we take them down
and pack them away.
the ornaments,
the memories,
we place them
carefully
into our attics
and closets
until next year,
when we dust them off
and try again
and cry again
for peace on earth
Like many, I masqueraded in shades of urban gray.
I offered my love to the midnight neon angel.
I walked the caliginous streets alone and astray.
She remained distant, alluring, always disdainful.
I courted cynicism, resignation, and despair as my style.
I wore tilted fedoras in smoke-filled reeking bars.
I feigned culture and literacy, trying to look worthwhile.
I blush now, recalling my see-through shooting stars.
Like many, I was just a child renting a man’s body.
I impersonated adulthood with stylized gloom.
I thought maturity was an act, so mine was shoddy.
I donned trench coats, my affectation in any room.
My blinking street angel had seen it all before.
My love for her was simulation and nothing more.
When autumn comes
is winter far away?
Every silver lining
has a cloud.
This is the best of all possible worlds.
So says the optimist,
so says the pessimist too.
I once had an office job sitting next to Miss Sunshine day in and day out. She and her 7th Day Adventist Jesus were always so positive and jolly about everything, it was hard not to smack her.
One day with syrupy sweet intonation she asked why I was so cynical and wasn't I an unhappy person.
I said, "Only a sociopath could be happy about the truth of things, but I'm just a realistic observer not hiding behind cheerful nonsense; there's no correlation to happy or unhappy. Look at you for instance. You are smiling and upbeat all the time. And I don't believe I've ever met an unhappier person."
She was stunned, momentarily silent, mouth hanging open. Then she burst into terrible wracking sobs of anguish.
