Darkness engulfs
Loneliness stings
black of darkness engulfs
Mood swings
pain of parting bluffs,
Desires denied
as all the plans trash,
My heart He spies
my subtle emotions crash,
Fire of anger
burns till the core,
Mankind is in danger
higher flames galore,
See myself lying
amidst many soulless,
Once sybarite
sleeping in earth's lap,
If eyes stare in zero
and refuse to blink,
Pull the lids hard down
watch out for sunrise !

Funeral Cortege Sans Protocol
The autumnal equinox period
Spells time for worship, pilgrimages
Rituals and a pandemonium
Of festivities and gay hyperactivities
The elephant godhead idol
Over decked, anointed
With all fervour is immersed
In its watery bed amidst chantings
Its worshipped form
Turns to formlessness
The formless deities rise at dawn
Bleating like sacrificial lambs
Leaving a trail of dismembered limbs
On shores like the carnage of pilgrims
Heaped on one another in Mecca
After the great crane's death knell
A convoy of trucks arrive to pile
The mutilated aftermath of their godly images
Littered unwanted on the golden sands
Sweep the once worshipped but
Now shredded and tattered earth's burden
On their slow funeral cortege sans protocol

Blushes of Dusk
It's been twilight of dusk
as humanity cries,
Bloodshed of wars
cruelty and famines,
Emotions all bled
kindness scraped,
Love exhaled
and logic slaughtered,
Stripped of souls
lay the corpses,
Heartless and skinless
mere skeletons dance,
Passion and warmth
entombed in history,
Eyeballs rotate
no mind ponders,
Anticipating .....
palpitations thump,
Heart protrudes out
of the breast bone,
Dusky blush lends
rosy red to sunrise !

Screams from a thousand men
upon bloodied fields,
the blood dripping
from the hedges
and over-reaching briars.
Look to that blood...
smear its life-gone sap
into your soul
and start to count the bodies
on the fields.
You will find a thousand...
Each one will have blood
around his head and throat
and you won't forget the scene
should you live a hundred years.

MID-NIGHTMARES
It haunts the wicked parts of sleep,
where even dream's darkest corners will not tread.
Drowning shadows in the stinging tears we weep,
immobilizing dream and dreamer, frozen to the bed.
We cannot move a lower limb or arm,
and every image seen will prick the skin.
Grit fear, the grizzly thing will strike and harm,
and strangle dreamer with its seething grin.
Darkest fears that make the blackest black look white,
and play frenetic brain with worst scenario and dread.
A thousand deaths as though the sky were blind of stars at night,
nor birth by sun will cease these apparitions boiling in our head.
No air to lungs nor breath to spirit as we sleep,
and blue the blood is tainted by the plots and schemes.
The heart may jump or run and charge to sudden leap,
and straightaway we're lost in frail and whispered dreams.
Each of us delivered from the vile unpleasant thing,
for one warm soul to wake us with the morning's bell.
Companion, embrace and take us up and under wing,
and send the beasts of vision back to fade away in hell!

Life in the dark
Sorrow and melancholy,
The reflections of our dark inside,
Are just like an opaque window,
That never permeated any light,
Sometimes sad state of ignorance,
Urges us to thrive in the dark,
Sullen expressions on the face,
As if Iniquitous plot against the kind,
Fumbling around in the ebony of night,
And disheartened over poor plight,
Darkest hour is just before the dawn,
It gets brightened with new aurora at horizon,
The unenlightened preserve the unjust,
Sour temper and unending ascending lust,
Only if we could imbue divine light inside,
Can undo all negatives of heavenly life,
Heart burns within as an ash in the fire,
Why not unveil the euphoric attire ?
Let the dusky night ride down the sky,
And usher in the new gala morning !

The sun-deserted earth, darkness night bears
A small way in the trees, easy to walk in there
Where there's a cemetery not so old in years
Where spiders crawl and serpents slither
The sands of time have seen it wither.
Dark storm strikes down the grass with rain
Two lovers, young and lush, pranced unchained
Pulled by the desire and the passion not drained
Lost in each other’s eyes, chaos in skies insane
Come to the Gothic Gate for shelter under a crane.
Heard voices of starving souls needing their fills
The lovers make a devilish wish with thrills until
The gate opens wide to enter at their free wills
With joyous cries of making love, their shadows spill
Fornicating in graveyard, ravenous souls on kill.
Lying on the ground, feeling the weather’s chill
The rain stops, they see star-stitched sky refilled
Waning moon above, their passions sing and spill
Can’t see the ravenous world around waiting to kill
Hands came up from the ground, the lovers killed.

Rafters shake in irritation, as if to say what their excuse?
It could be him, it could be her, but there's no love when there's abuse
A temper flames, then brings a tear. It sears self-worth, again...again
Someone there has claimed the right and then the pain.....again...again
...The cracking whip of lashing tongues, where ridicule is wearing thin
A lightning strike, and anger spikes and victims die in little bites
It's somewhere close, a house nearby, we may not know, it goes unseen
But seams are ripping someone's life, every day, every night
stripping pride and self esteem
With little thought, for what they do....is it someone you might know?
With no excuse, could it be you? Or if it's not, what will you do?
Between the cracks one hears the taunts, wearing old familiar hats
Each shingle fears another hour......of rain that comes behind the fire
Is it your street, beyond the gate, another storm, regret too great ?
Does hope still cling, where love is sought?...
Is this called love...? It's clearly ....not
