Connotations Poems

Just Don’t Take My High

Take my name!
It’s twisted connotations left me long ago.
Take my clothes!
They move on my body like tides of the moon
hanging in hollow spots filled by promises forgotten long ago.
Take my money!
The dirtiest thing man has ever invented! Paper bills touched by power and sickness all at once.
Take my time!
Filthy hours strung together like christmas lights held by wires of illusion and illumination.
Take my freedom!
Thorny vines break the skin with tendrils of relief and quiet thorns that tell me my mom really did love me.
Just dont take my high.

Premium MemberMY MAN-

"My man" you can’t have;
My man he’s my love and;
He frequently accepts me as I am;
He I soul love, as my man;
Fully connected with him;
Engaged intentions, emotions;
My man feelings, expectations:

My man healthy future;
Everything is just for me;
I am his go to person I be:
Just want to enjoy every sweet,
Sweet, sweet, sweet, spans;

Intimate darling my man;
Love you so and, you are mine;
Simple and small things with him, my man;
Very casual, inamorato, dearest love;
Paramour truelove you are my man;
May you and the world understand?
You are my man;

"Babe" so endearing appreciated affection, my man;
And the relationship dynamic you’re my man;
A romantic partner or future spouse, my man;
Carrying connotations of a strong, committed,
And long-term relationship;
Conveying awe enthusiastic agreement, my man, my man;
Paramour truelove, my second Hallelujah;

Wild Or Dead Flowers

I decided to go to the store one more time.
I was going to pay.
It’s the same life that was left over for me.
Like ice cream in the back of the freezer.
I had woken up early that day.
I wish the corner store sold flowers.
I’m ashamed.
I decided to go to the store one more time, one more time.
To pick up some pop from the fridge.
One more time.
My wallet is empty.
I could pick wildflowers.
Or steal dead ones from the graveyard.
Which have wildly different connotations.
Either way.
I wish I could pay.
Kicked out of the store.
Going to the graveyard door.
Wildflowers are free.
But not good enough for me.
I’d rather eat decay.
After waking up early today.

The Echo Chamber

So, the glistening aim noticeably passes by,
So, the dangerous motion formidably goes by,
So, the unknown one remains unknown for the time being,
So, one is ahead of the petty singing.

The one and only is good-natured and well-behaved,
He is favoured and well-blessed.
Though the great Guide is sacrificed, done and dusted,
The honest being is fit, fine, and well-crafted.

The physical existence is going to be dealt with,
The mirrored organizations are going to vote for the myth.
The glass is going to be blurred by its connotations,
The pure man is defined by his situations.

The window is becoming larger day by day,
The commentators are solitary soldiers in their own way.
The perception is becoming blinded,
The light is the only lie that is provided.

Here, the perfect human is the representative of his species,
Here, he has grown up with his lengthy speeches.
Here, he is no longer unknown or unfeasible to catch,
And therefore, he has everything else to match.

When life becomes confusing,
my only saviour is my
simple musing.

Twilight shimmers in orange,
red clouds float above,
preparing for blood rain.

Lost to ponder,
I contemplate and wonder
why the symphonic sky
showcases shadows of ghosts

as a
susurration of sighs,
reflect sands of time,
like an unbalanced hourglass.

As words lose
innocent connotations
I find no use for speech.

I drift into my
silent reverie -
but release through poetry.

Wild fires no longer rage,
rain perishes like a drought,
but the smell of ash remains

who knows what winds may come and go
and what they will bring and take.

Motionless mind agrees to a ceasefire,
with my apprehensive heart.

Cumulonimbus clouds clear,
sky is like a fresh sapphire page.

Simple sun shines - scintillating,
illuminating an enchanting rainbow.
Horizons reflect like stained glass windows.

Path clears before me,
as I bask in the brisk breeze.
Refreshing wise winds soothe,
as zephyrs heal tender wounds.

I see smoky mountains up ahead,
but I believe I can conquer them

as pain is no longer my companion.

There is no Crueler Word than War

fork has many interpretations

connotations

as do
eviscerate
slaughter
butchery
all can mean less than they
appear to be

context is important

but War

War is the foulest of foul words
a word that only the dead hear correctly

the living
choose from a lexicon of oaths
they may banter
or throw stones

but War

War kills every word
in the dictionary

even to the last
blood-soaked letter

The Right Reflection

 There is great purpose and awesome potential within, however the image in a mirror can sometimes become distorted.
When God made you in his image, She made you fearfully and wonderfully which has been divinely reported.
How you see the image in the mirror can be a magnet that pulls you into your glorious destination.
The image you should see is full of love, beauty, compassion, and a complete absent of fear or degradation.

The past reflections may say you're not good enough, you're not strong or smart enough, keeping one in bondage, which is not the image of your absolute royal calling.
Pay no attention to nay sayers and negative connotations concerning your plans and dreams when goodness and mercy follow you, stay focused to avoid stumbling or falling.
See yourself as God sees you, empathic, caring, confidant, compassionate, loyal, and regal royalty you were created to be.
Know that you are preciously valuable and the magnificent forces in you are more powerful than dark principalities that hinder you from being free.

Life is strong and fragile. It’s a paradox… it’s both things, like quantum physics: It’s a particle and a wave at the same time. It all exists all together. —Joan Jett

Connotations of Life

Night birds and daydreams in Edenic oak tree.
The salty tongue and lullabye of beachy blue sea.
Rumination of childhood ‘neath honeysuckle sun.

Red, raw, fulgent, overcome by the heft of the sun.
The fruitless and barren virtuosity of Adam’s tree.
Catacombs and sawlike teeth squatting in the sea.

The thrill of tides, embraced by the bosom of the sea.
Flickering flame or blinding heat tempered by the sun.
Sanity climbing the boughs or crepitant branches of tree.

O tree keep me above uncanny sea; soothe me with the sun.

Premium MemberDeath of a Muse

As cotton clouds fade under blank blackness,
I sigh as stars stare at my moon.
My breathless quill feels no pulse, but it beats,
unable to find admiration for an empty page.

I bleed tears. I've not yet cried like wailing walls,
through expressions with silent connotations,
where my life resembles personified poetry.
But, not all verses are expressed effortlessly,
as my muse's heart is misplaced in mahogany mist.

Once, I used to sprinkle magic over dead roses,
but my chiseled charm is now at war with words,
wandering among weeds in my withering flower garden.

Vinegary rain with sour snow has immolated my vocabulary's flaming blooms,
as memorable metaphors abandon me.
Pierced from thorns worn from a crown of sonnets,
I fear myself when my rhymes feel like childish crimes.
Now I cry without tears, a lifeless poet,
lost in a paradise of vivid imagery,
but powerless to write verses with substance,
so I let my words rest in peace - deceased.

No Looking Back

Life is much too short to give your precious energy away to worry.
Without the demeaning thoughts of yesturday that bring you down, blessing will rain down on you in a flurry.
Do not keep gazing into the rear-view mirror of past events.
Turn off those negative voices and those connotations that make no sense.

Objects in the mirror may be closer than they appear.
There are things that increase uncertainty and manifest fear.
Don't permit your guilt to control your glorious future.
Instead, be led by the proverbs of great profits and let them be your tutor.

World Poetry Day

N. Hawthorne encouraged us to do anything, something, (heroic?) even though life brings huge discouragement: "Tell me not, in mournful numbers, that life is but an empty dream ..." PSALM OF LIFE

I had to pen something like poetry today
It's World Poetry day, they say (internet ads)
Yet today is over, on its way, where we "stay"*
In South Africa. No internet on other phone
By chance I tried this (MTN service), won
A reprieve, a respite, an extension to the day
A list of best poems: Poe's Raven, Sonnet 18
By the bard (Shall I compare thee to a summers day?)
Elizabeth Barrett Browning's love poem
And Nathaniel Hawthorne's PSALM OF LIFE
So my work - brief, bearing light - is done
And off I run ... In donker** Suid Africa again

* STAY has US connotations with cohabitation and vacation. In RSA, it is used for "live" (as in, Where do you live/stay now?")

** "Donker' is dark or darkness, in Afrikaans. I used it because of loadshedding: our notoriety for electricity cuts that has business & people in "revolt" here.
