Mojito Conjuring 

When the bruja in the red dress
sends me out this time,
it is for the taste of
sour oranges and garlic.
Once, when I plied her 
with a cigar called Hoyo de Montyerrey,
she coiled the smoke, 
said that I was still feral and untamed,
sent me out for sugar so that
I could learn my true name.

Faerie fawn did not realize she was being watched I am sure.
With a wave of her wand, she conjured a mule deer pure.

Church bells muffled on Sunday
Whispered almost silent as people glide in to pray
Inclement weather conditions toll a long good-bye
Blizzards come with mounds of snow on a somber curve
The fallen collect themselves inside as worried souls

Leaves completely freed from trees become detached
Cannibalized by savage storms clawing at their back
Long stripped of life they could not last
