Steely Dan Tribute
Rikki please don’t lose that number
I begged and pleaded.
Sorry, but I know you like Peg
better.
But Rikki I thought we were still reelin
in the years.
Sorry, but you’re a real loser, that is
why they call you Deacon Blues.
Ran outside and saw Kid Charlemagne
who was tryin’ to hire someone to
do his dirty work for free.
Sorry Kid I can’t help you but

Black and red of cards
Men in deck of cards
Wise and great in name
Shocked the World in fame
Rise and fall in flame
Rulers of land
Feats over sand
Charlemagne, David
Alex, Julius
Bards of right
Conquerors
And mentors
Four Men
Of cards
Kings
Some strive with all their might to gain,
power to rule like Charlemagne.
Like those who built Babel’s tower,
they aim to establish their name.
Hordes strive for honor, wealth, and fame,
for them, life is like a big game.
They’ve fallen for the famous lie,
that wealth and fame bring happiness.
The wisest man that ever lived,
who enjoyed all that life could give.
Declared such pursuits vanity,
an aimless chasing of the wind.
God made humans to honor Him,
and serve their fellowmen with vim.
When we live life to serve ourselves,
we rob Him of what He is due.
It matters not what you achieve,
Or what accolades you receive.
If your name is not in God’s book
in heaven’s eyes, you are a crook.
So, do your best to earn success,
but use God’s gifts to serve and bless.
Let what He wills, your life control,
and you’ll enjoy a life that’s whole.
Much serious thought should be given
to the naming of them,
for would we call a Byzantine Emperor
Tiddles, Blackie or Patches,
would we name an Egyptian Pharaoh,
Ginger, Tiger, Tom, or Peanut?
Cat’s are royalty, no less noble
than the Great Charlemagne -
and they know it,
thus it is most essential
that we get the little buggers neutered.

Thankyou And Farewell - Charmaine Chircop's Blog
In One Spot Concentrated
My poems in one spot are concentrated;
Should I either have waited or hesitated;
So to pass test,
What will be best?
Be put in other places I contemplated.
Jim Horn
Charmaine has her poems all over the place.
Her name reminds me of Charlemagne.
I saw a flash
Six billion electrons
So many horses in so little space
The charging calvary
Of light
In shape of forking tongue
Sizzling
The forehead
And cumulous-nimbus dark frown
And the hooves
Rolling far away
The last rider
Pounding
On the scream of day.
It was then I understood
Charlemagne
Small as bead as sweat
Surrendered
To postponed death.
Henri
Nostradamus I read one time,
Said wars were coming, it’s to chime,
A German Pope would lead the war,
Prince Henri would be fighting for,
His other name is Harry,
Perhaps Prince Henri of old France,
Is our cousin Harry, sometimes Henry,
he likes to visit war, takes a chance,
visits British troops, and the Moslem enemy,
A new French Pope, may anoint him Emperor,
a Charlemagne of this future time,
for battles won with the Moslem horde,
Nostradamus bells this chime?
