are better than this
A bald dandelion
is what I want
after being blown apart
Hummingbirds suck wind
when the nectar is gone
I don’t have room
for accolades that gather dust
when we will still be hungry tomorrow
Fields Sun
. Water Time
. Ripen chop
. Harvest crop
. Cereal
. Nibble chew
. Swallow fill
. Fibre Smile
Happy Tummy
I woke at 8:45
Stretched and yawned
Smiled. All gaiety.
Potty first. Face splashed
Skipped teeth, shower, hair
Pajamas wrinkled
week-long underwear
Rushed down the steps
Threw open the fridge—
Friday’s meatloaf, cold brick.
Just Me & Capt’n Crunch—
sugar gravel
still in a Scooby-dish bowl
9am flipped on the boob-tube
Saturday morn cartoons
Mystery van
Spinach
Spiders
Anvils dropping
White cowl
Bull’s-eye dog
Sugar Sugar
Ah…Honey Honey
Daniel—
Cliff edge
The long fall.
I laughed until I wept, until I cried.
All gaiety—
gone.
The sweet milk gone warm.
Chirp.
Screen lit—
three little dots
then—
“You up yet Papa? XOXO”
Where is Cereal Killers at?
come meet the greatest cereal of all time said the Moon
It was noisy as a tornado, storm, hurricane or sonic boom
Made lovely noises, which were over way too soon
The name was appropriate – Snap Crackle and Boom
this must be a USA cereal, a foreigner said to me.
Oh yes, I agreed, as he finger pointed out on his cup of tea
It is one of the things that make us great, but it is not free
there is a tariff on it, so it now costs more than any utility.
I have to constantly outguess, outrun and outfox
Because I am their mother said my crunchy cereal box
This mystified me; I was blank, wordless at best
I read her advertisements again, thinking this was a test.
Cereal Bowls
When cereal bowls in
the kitchen cupboards get
deeply sexually aroused they
go up in
flames.
My mouth coated with Coco bombs
Washed with vanilla cream
Taste buds scream, as if they are exploding
Flavor that melts on my tongue
And I haven't even added the sepia syrup
It turns my favorite cereal into delectable bonbon like bombs
No spoon is big enough for the mouthfuls I bite into
Thick servings TikTok dancing on my tongue
I love the African celebration
So, Coco Puff pass me a bowl
I want to taste these puppy love kisses every morning
p.s. but nothing is better than my favorite cereal at night...
Cheerios lacks sugar
Alphabet cereal needs marshmallows
A wise one invents Lucky Charms
I eat all the colorful marshmallows out of it too
Wheaties and Raisin Bran are awful.
Daddy eats them
I have no idea how
Is there a sugar swamp in the bottom of his bowl?
In the winter we have Cream of Wheat
Malt-o-Meal
Coco Puffs
Nothing is special about Special K
Kellogg, he was groomed as a killer.
The milk on the spoon - would not spill ‘er.
With cheerios breath,
a masticate-death,
he zeroed his victims - a thriller.

Maybe a serial killer, the crows cawed to each other.
This was agreed upon by the vole and the vole’s mother.
I think he’s just a great horned owl, a good guy, I said.
However, I did not know all the murderous books that he read.
He studied forensics, and he took apart his own pellets.
The books he read pushed diabolical ideas down in his gullets.
He was a cereal killer that simply could not stop.
He devoured all of our Rice Krispies – Snap, Crackle, Pop!
She’s a cereal killer
She chomps the Wheaties into bits
She’s a cereal killer
But please let’s not have any fits.
She masticates harder than most
She’s a killer of breads
Does serious damage to cinnamon toast
She’s the one of whom nightmares dread.
She’s a cereal killer
All the way up and down the kitchen
Now that you’ve been warned,
Please stop your annoying b………………….
A sheila at a billabong
Was smitten by a boomer dong
"She had a son
Who could not run"
Recalled Cassidy Hopalong
Love bananas with my puffies
Makes me squirm in my undies
Wanna climb trees
But it makes me wheeze
Guess I'll just get back to my guppies
i throw
caution
to the wind
while winding
yellow tape
around
our
