The sun is lifting the curtains so wide
Thank God for letting us see one more morn
Life's ashen shades do disappear and hide
Rejoice! One more sunny bright day is born
           ______________

Bathing in the glow of the morning sun
Breathing in deep, rose’s refreshing scent
Wishing “Buenos días” to the world is fun
Watching God’s dawn-painting, I feel content

There is great glory for the eyes to see
There is much for the senses to perceive
From little cares, when the mind is set free
Sure, there is reason to delight than grieve!

A Sky On the Forehead

A sky on the forehead
Lilacs and larks inside
Eyes enjoying the bliss
Give me milk with bread

Those deep touches of joy
How sweet your palm mom
Molecules mount a gull
Your smile so cute and coy

Look at pockets of my grin
And the pink grapes in bloom
Endless ripples from my lungs
The moon seated on my chin

Just two frontal teeth
From the waiting gums
Tomatoes bloom always
Melodies giggle as I breathe

Whoever fondles us
We say, Buenos Dias
Overjoyed they smile
At the baby Jesus

Impromptu

just saying
chianti
makes me
sound
so
Italian

but instead
of
buongiorno
my morning
is
buenos dias

wine
replaced by
her
Colombian
coffee colored
eyes

i gave up
caffeine
but will
gladly drink
her cream
and my wine

Good Morning

This must be what it felt like when God breathed life into man or when Adam first saw Eve

We paint white sheets with vibrant colors, the bed is our canvas and love is the only art

Yawning with happiness leaving my morning breath

Looking to my left, I could watch you sleep all day as you lay with the glow of an angel or mornings first light

As innocence, beauty, and desire radiate from your soft kissed skin matching the sun rays

I fell asleep to the scent of your Aruba wave hair staining my pillows

With my arms holding you like a fall breeze clasping the deep red and orange leaves

Waking up to your head resting on my chest and my arm around your lower back

Your legs intertwined and over mine

Site slowly venting to your heavenly morning glimmers and your rosy morning fine

She moans Buenos Dias

p.s. I want you like just five more minutes…

Happy French Defeated Day

He raised his glass, then sipped his beer.
Gringos all then raised a cheer!
"To Mexico!" Hear them cry, "Oh!"
"Today is good old Cinco de Mayo!"

"To freedom for old Mexico!"
Their 4th of July so we've been told.
"The day they earned their independence."
"The day they won for their descendents!"

"Señor, I think your book has cracks.
I think you need to check your facts.
Our independence is in the Fall.
About us, you seem to have built a wall."

"Buenos dias, señor" he would say.
"And happy Battle of Puebla Day."
Oh my, who could ever tell?
"Happy Cinco de Mayo to you as well!"

Lies Our Countries Told Us

Get down! is no joke-
Amazon eyes meet
black, jungle eyes
No one backS down!
The genetic zipcode
has travelled over
two (2) continents
on a tight-rope
to say a false/friendly
"Good Morning/Buenos Dias!'"
We serve it up with a side order of MEANS WELL
like the Connecticut River in January
the pieces...peaces
float and bob upward near
cease-fire redemptions
just in case mutual dreams
come to fruition
during the Panasonic night.

La Mujer Del Barrio Vega

Some Paris Hilton wannabe laughed
At my cell phone
(which was missing the battery cover)
As if to say
"How pathetic!"
As if to suggest
"He'll never get laid!"

The day was too gloriously
Autumn
For me to care
About the trivialities of some
Electronic set of shackles
And the status of their condition

But(t)

I was tempted to throw out some quips
Toss some facetiousness around
Like feces
Just a little something to mentally gnaw on
While mockingly handing her the phone
"Oh, your girlfriend has something to admit to you."
While overanalysing her face
"Oh, nice 1986 pink skiing googles that you call sunglasses."
But
Alas
Why feed the absurdity with more
Of the same

The leaves were showing signs of new color
The air was crisp
The hummingbirds were in Mexico
The music in my head was excellent as
The breeze blew over my neurons

Adios
