Premium MemberThe Masks We Wear

I'm okay,
you're okay is a mask in the land of pretend.
Children say what they feel,
their honestly can bubble over.
Little ones have not learned words hurt,
so their tongue flow freely.
The only masks they wear,
is at Halloween.
Turning into teenagers,
they have learned the power of words.
Words can bring joy like a fluttering butterfly,
or pain like a sharp knife in the back.
I'm okay, you're okay is a mask we wear,
wear in the land of pretend.

A Quiet Fight

A self-whispered battle cry
An uplifting quote for another try
With a burdened mind behind a straight face
I have a sense of self like I’m in a dark place

Inconspicuous at the battlefront
Drawn on every single day I confront
A past to escape and a future to nose
I am always one threat away from a lost cause

Regrets and fears dimension each day
Dead ends and blind curves map my way
Picking broken pieces of myself and mopping spills
I have learnt to front chills and thrills

You won’t see me rolling up sleeves
Or lurking in a thicket with rustling leaves
You won’t see me in a belligerent pose
My war is waged against inner wounds and flaws

I am heated but never bubble over with anger
I am insulted but never stumble over due to slander
I absorb the inevitability of sorrow and pain
I turn to verities to diffuse the intrusion of hate

The silence of violence is what I dread
Like the wordless cry of the mutes with a fright
An internal fray so isolated and unheard
In the depth of my heart is where I will win the quiet fight

A Woman Full of Joy

A WOMAN FULL OF JOY

You once had quite a childhood of memories so sad,
But now you’re on a bus route and make so many glad.
You may have felt neglected by those who did not care,
But now you reach to others and joy with them you share.
You once lived with a preacher who molded you to be
What you try to mold in others in life’s path that you see.
You once shed tears of sadness with feeling so alone,
But now you bubble over with gladness so well known.
You once sat with some ladies that gathered once each year,
Now you plan that same meeting that we keep having here.
Your voice was filled with weeping and bitterness with life,
But now it’s glorious singing for our Lord Jesus Christ.
You once were eager, waiting, for God’s choice for a man,
And now he is our pastor and following God’s plan.
Yes, Christ has made the difference in every part of you,
It really is amazing to see what He can do!
I wish you “Happy Birthday” the best way I know how:
From the pen of “Ready Writer” in this short poem now!

I’m smooth and sleek with cute curves
I always manage to attract your attention
You can’t wait to get your hands on me ...
Know all the right buttons to press
I can feel my temperature rising
Sometimes I can get so steamy
You can hear me hiss with excitement
At times I have been known to bubble over
I can feel myself burning with desire to please you
Oh man I can get so so hot
With your deft fingertips you can control me
Soon my job is done and you are totally satisfied
When it’s all over you leave me to cool down
Then you can’t wait to caress me with a damp cloth
Oh how I love it when you do that
I just can't wait until you turn me on again

Grave To the Bank

under the moonlight
friendless cemetary i am no toothfairy
talked into circles of madness
of wishes of three perfect lives within visions
split second decision
pretend to swallow then spit

Who am i to be stretched upon your grave?
the fourth culprit would only be logical
im no apostle reading between the stars across the sky
solvable predicaments learned through time

Coming forward hiding in these shadows
i know not what i do
i mean no harm
please protect me from myself

Appeasing a tortured soul is no easy thing
such madness and misconceptions the mind goes offbeat
madness of coincidence adds up after awhile
sometimes the randomness of simple misfortunes overthrill and bubble over

the word to replace a word
goes grave to the bank
tell me lord out there split second decision
in closed eyed lover visions
is there someone still dreaming
of a cup of life

Sensing You

When your fingers skim my skin,
I quake knowing it’s you,
Every moment spent should be treasured,
You bubble over with appreciation,
Appreciation for me?
Since the second you opened door 108,
I knew inside me,
Mine.

Golden

Dusk turning down it’s golden colors
across the face of the water
Picnicking late with our two golden children
a feast made of olives and crackers
We discuss life as the shore calls them down,
buckets and shovels in hand
We laugh like we’re twenty with a zest, bubble over
They laugh ‘cause they’re covered in sand.
A consummate lover of catching the moment
I set up the camera to pose
The last of the sun winks it’s eyes as we smile
leaving our skin golden glow.
If I could forever replay this one memory
I’d change not a singular thing
This feeling of wellness, complete inner wellness
is something your friendship does bring.
